The Apple Barrel Cafe is proving itself as a better restaurant than most comparable restaurants. A lot of the food is "homemade" (made in house) including some sauces like the ranch dressing and tartar sauce. They are definitely not just phoning it in. The result is better food than most. I definitely recommend Apple Barrel Cafe for some good diner style food with excellent food. The catfish I had this visit was delicious and flaky. The hush puppies were sweet tender. Even the green beans were excellent. They were tender but not the least bit mushy with good flavor. I couldn't ask for a better green bean. The onion rings were excellent. Weakest offering was the French fries but they were fine. I would rate the fries as average. This is only notable because the rest of the meal was above average. The ambience was clean and comfortable with a local radio station playing seasonal music as a background muse. It will no doubt be a regular part of our eating out. My wife (an Italian heritage woman) loved her spaghetti sauce and said her meatballs were delicious. I tasted them and agreed. I definitely recommend the Apple Barrel Cafe.

We really enjoyed our recent trip there. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and our waitress was great. My husband loved his pinto beans! The chicken fried chicken was tender and the breading was crunchy and delicious. The gravy was good, could have used a bit more pepper, but there's pepper on the table. My omelette was cheesy and well cooked, generously stuffed with turkey bacon. The fruit was fresh and thankfully not all filler fruit aka pineapple and cantaloupe. I really enjoyed the grapes! The biscuit was fluffy and fresh. The only disappointment was the Mac and cheese which seemed to be a box mix and wasn't very warm. But it was one of basically one I'd three sides so it's not like we spent a lot of money on it. The restaurant was clean and bright with the apple and barrel theme being on display. There's a full bar but we only had coffee. The menu is extensive and prices are fair and reasonable especially considering the portion size. We'll definitely be back!

Great food and great service from our server Melody. Home style cooking and enough to take leftovers home.

Dinner tonight was terrific. i came to Tulsa to celebrate my sister in law and brother's special…read morebirthdays. I asked them to select a very nice restaurant, they selected Oren. I contacted the restaurant to see if they could acknowledge this special event. The reply Igot was, "...of course, dessert is on us". I thought, how nice. When we arrived at Oren, our table was ready and waiting with a Happy Birthday o the table. And, our menus were specially printed and across the top read: Happy Birthday Ronnie and Allen,, what a lovely touch! Our server, Ava, was wonderful and very attentive, We ordered Caponata, which was probably the best I ever had. We each ordered a salad, I had the Cherry Tomato with goat cheese--delish! We ordered the trout and the short ribs with pasta, also quite yummy. For dessert we had sherbet and the vanilla ice cream sundae. As an added treat, Ava brought us chocolate chip cookies. All and all a wonderful celebratory dinner. I highly recommend

Decor is dim and intimate, very nice. It was fun watching the bartenders mixing and crafting drinks. The patrons here kept them busy. I ordered an espresso martini without Bailey's (Oren's way), which was decent. For dinner we had the lamb shoulders, brussel sprouts and a burger. The lamb came unexpected in almost a meatloaf shaped slide and it was tender flavorful. Quite good! The Brussels sprouts were nicely done and tasty. As for burger, I was indifferent on. I had a friend who said it was his favorite, but I thought it was fine. They need to change the buns. The fries were awesome. Looking forward to coming back again!

Service was spot on throughout the entire night. We started with the deviled eggs, half plain and half Chef's Choice. The Chef's Choice were the best, drizzled with chili crisp (or pickled Szechuan peppercorns) and topped with a tiny gherkin and fresh dill. The soup of the day was a cabbage and radish soup. It was interesting and very homey but I wish I had ordered the salad. I had the Novarro Farm sweet Potato Gnocchi (kale and pecan pesto, Birch Bottom Farm Georgia candy roaster, fresh chevre). I was a little hesitant about the kale pesto but should NOT have been. This dish was delicious--great garlic flavor. Would order again. The burger looked amazing and while The Hubs said it was good, he also said it needed some more spice. They had a couple of rotating beers from Heirloom--a Mexican Lager and an Italian Pilsner. I had the Water Lily cocktail, their take on an Aviation. Order it just because it's beautiful (and refreshing). The photo does not depict the deep color of it. I asked what other gin based cocktails they had on their menu. They didn't but the server/bartender offered to make me a Bee's Knees for the second round. It was delicious! The atmosphere here is casual but the food is elevated. I kept thinking this is what a French bistro would be like inside. I want to come back and shop the market. Oh, and the apple pie was excellent as well!
