This place has huge windows allowing for amazing natural light to come in. I love that everything is very neutral inside, making it somewhat calming. There is a bunch of different types of seating here - tables for two, high tops, bar-ish area, wooden benches, and a round table. It is spacious and I'm not a huge coffee drinker, so I can't say too much. I did enjoy my drink though! What made my time there a little less enjoyable was the unfriendly vibe I got from the workers. I felt a bit out of place. The servers/workers there made conversation with many people in line, but when I got to the front and asked a couple questions they were cold, monotoned in their answers, and lacked enthusiasm. Also, wasn't even sure where to find the wifi code and felt uncomfortable having more interaction with the people there. The friend I went with, who IS an avid coffee drinker, said she liked her drink but it wasn't amazing. Nothing extraordinary. Welcoming and friendly was this Monday's counter service. Serene it was sitting at a booth. Fascinated I was with the natural lighting streaming in by the design of their large windows and of their multiple hanging lights for accent. And then came my first sip ... Mmm ... for a second, the world, the other guests, the glaring computers, and, whispers all slipped away. Was visiting Dallas and stayed in the area. It seems like a local community coffee shop. Grabbed alatte and a Doppio, the usual and also got a chicken sandwich. Latte was good and served in a glass cup. The dopio was ok, not the best and sandwich was ok. I got a hot sauce to compliment it that was decent and different. The service is friendly and people nice. There was inside seating and outside too. Such a quirky coffee shop full of surprises!! On the hunt for a new coffee shop to try out, we decided to stop here since they have such great rating. The coffee shop is bright and airy with many glass windows. The inside is a mix of modern contemporary plus a little bit of a hipster-y vibe. 1 star The shop is owned by 2 Australian brothers, hence the "mate" greeting sign by the door (cant remember what it says exactly now). When I asked our cashier what "LDU" means, she said she has no idea and turned to the brothers to get a surprise answer: "Acronyms seem like a popular thing here, so we just came up with it randomly, there's no meaning to it." Not very original but original regardless lol. They were also so nice to bring some water to our table without us even asking for it, and that was about 10mins before they close too. Wonderful customer service! 1 star The coffee was very decent. The latte arts we got were a little bit disappointing, but other pictures on Yelp look so nice so I'm not dinging them for it. 2 stars It's definitely worth checking out again if I'm in the area. This cute little coffee shop is a cute little gem in lower Greenville. They provide customer parking in a garage. They are very pet friendly. Our server, I believe his name was Ben, was very friendly and helpful on providing us our options. Since I drink my coffee black I ordered the long black which is their version of an americano. It was amazing (probably one of the best coffees I've had... and that's coming from a coffee snob) . I got their banana bread to nibble on per Ben's instructions and it was delicious as well! The only problem with LDU is it isn't in the city I live. I stumbled on this gem by yelping the area and looking for a coffee house that had single origin coffee and a relaxed vibe. Upon entry the counter is open to the back so it feels inviting, like you are at home and you are greeted by modern decor that is comfortable. We had one mixed drink, a cup of Mexican Chiapas and several of their incredible baked goods. We didn't have sandwiches but other patrons raves about how good they were. I chatted with the owner who is a transplant and he indicated they were aiming for a European/Italian coffee house feel that is more interactive and they are successful in their target so successful another one is opening in Texas soon! Decent coffee for a decent price (less than $4) with a simple open kitchen and nice space for chats and readings and work. Be warned, they turn off wifi on the weekends! The flat white was good, the chai latte better than most, but still not as strong as I like it. There is an attached garage for free parking (!!!) which I found out after-the-fact, so street parking in that area is plentiful also. They also have a great taste in music! read more

We love LDU!! The place is tucked away on Fitzhugh under some apartments and always busy but for good reason. Their coffee is something special, whether it be a cold brew, a latte or their dirty chai (my go to) you cannot miss. They also have delciiius blueberry bread and a ton of pastries available to treat yo self. The staff is truly some of the nicest I've ever encountered and so patient even when there's a ton of people and cute dogs all around. They would serve people's drip coffee quickly after the customer finished their cup. Also, LDU is a great place for people to study! Lots of space and even large table space for project and such. One thing I would like to note is that there is a significant lack of wall plugs. They are only located at the bar and there are only a few plugs available. Best. Cortado. Ever. This spot has been on my list of places to try for quite some time and I'm so glad that I finally had a chance to pop in. Carly (I hope I'm stating/ spelling her name correctly), was incredibly warm/ welcoming, upbeat, and helpful in walking me through the menu. I got an oat-milk magicman with honey and it was hands down the best cortado I've had in 2021. The combination between the touch of honey and the espresso they use in their beverages gave the drink a smooth yet subtly fruity and sweet taste that was well balanced with the extra frothiness of the oat milk. Add the fact that it was served up in a beautiful bright blue coffee set made for the perfect sit down, slow sip, and people watching experience. The shop itself is somewhat small but appeared to attract the grab and go customers so that's not too much of an issue. For folks that want to sit and sip, there are some tables for small groups indoors and outdoors and also a larger community style table that seats about 6-8 or so people. I'd highly recommend this spot for either grabbing coffee on the go or socializing. Keep it up y'all... I can't wait to be back! read more
