I…read morehighly recommend it for career changers and working professionals who need to make the transition sooner rather than later. While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

Promptly at 1:00pm I took my written test, although I was the last person to take the skills test, the observer had me sit down and repeated the skills one more time and showed me where all the supplies were in order to complete the skills portion of the test. Classes are usually smaller, but more focused on students need for sure since it's a small group of students. It's more one on one with students learning. Credits are earned faster and can definitely benefit the future of the students, because you also can earn some college credits already depending on the classes taken. My son attended this school for 4 year and proud to announce that he will be graduating soon in May :) I'm very thankful for the small campuses schools like this, because the big schools just don't work for my son. He doesn't like the environment on the big High School campuses. Advice based on my experience:…read more 1- find the teachers that teach in a manner you understand and adjust your schedule to be in their classes, if possible 2- read the chapter before class 3- take notes and pay attention 4-plan plenty of time to do homework the same day you went to class. There's plenty of homework. Do it all, a few times The teachers aren't great about answering questions in an understandable way (example- some asks about question "X". The teacher responds "well it's obviously not A or C so that leaves B or D and B is clearly the better answer of those two. Any more questions?" Umm...if we knew all of that was "clear" we wouldn't ask. I waited to take my school exam until a couple months after finishing school and I had time to really study and retake the exams they give in the packet. I passed my second time. I did buy some of the study materials (flash cards, dictionary and the practice exams on CD) I found these helpful and essential to my learning. Highly recommend the CD!! I passed the state exams the first time.

I live in the SE part of the valley, so that is too far for me. I decided to give the Gilbert campus a try, and I'm very glad that I did. It was very easy to sign up for classes and the two ladies at the front desk, Kerstin and Charmaine, are very friendly and helpful. The instructors are all very professional, knowledgeable and available to help. Most of them even give their contact information so you can ask them questions outside of class. Most importantly, even though I took the Crash Course, which the instructors say is like drinking from a fire hose, I was able to pass both the school test and the state test on the first try. I couldn't have asked for more than that.
