I'm a lawyer and my wife is a doctor. The owner of AERT is a crooked liar. Don't go there. There are many other cpr classes in the Phoenix area. I signed up online for a class and AERT unilaterally cancelled it and then told me that I would have to take a class at a different location (in a bad part of town) on a date that would be too late for me to obtain a certificate I needed at that time. The owner then said in a loud, angry voice: "We cannot provide you with any classes!!" and hung up the phone. Despite all this, she charged my wife and I $100 for the class. We complained to citicard and Ms. Jaime sent a letter lying about what happened and claimed that we simply failed to show up for the class. I don't know how anyone has given this crooked company a positive review. read more

This company is a perfect place to take COR/First Aid/AED, etc.. I just completed my Instructors class and Jamie Phillips is AMAZING, to say the least. They claim that when someone signs up for the course, there is a box to check that says there are no refunds, but I don't recall seeing it. They won't even offer a refund for someone who was fired from a job & no longer needs to take the course. If I ever have to take a CPR course, I will never use this company. Never. I will post all over social media that they couldn't even bother to give a refund. I haven't attended the class, and just wanted a refund. read more

Recently got my CPR and first aid certification from here and I will be going back for my renewal in 2-years because of how great this place is! First off, the lady in the office that scheduled me for my class was polite and friendly. She helped me find a class that was near me and worked for my schedule. That was really nice since I know she was busy as I could hear the phones keep ringing. Then when I showed up for my class I was greeted and given some handouts, stickers, etc. My instructor was cool, he didn't rush through the material, yet he didn't waste our time. I left feeking confident in my skills since we demonstrated the hands on CPR/ choking/ AED on the Adult, child and infant. I'll be seeing them again in 2 years when I'm due for renewal. CPR training is often a fairly dull but necessary chore, and done just because it's a requirement . However, I was kind of surprised by how effective my trainer, Jaimie, made this class! I signed up for a Friday night at 6:00pm class and dreaded every minute of it, but the three hours flew by. Jamie is a hoot and made the lecture funny and really informative. We drug the manniquins out into the parking lot and practiced the skills portion of the class in more realistic conditions, which made us all realize just how scary and hard giving CPR would actually be. She was a terrific instructor and I really feel like I am actually prepared to give CPR if I had to. The location is kind of hard to find but they send you really good instructions in the email confirmation of the class - use those, and don't rely on google maps. Great experience! read more

I really want to be able to say something ABOVE nice for the businesses I am a patron of but in the same thought of how I need to review I MUST say something when the service/delivery/customer service is LESS than stellar! I will be brief. I needed to take a CPR class as a caregiver. My family and myself are recent transplants from the East coast to the state of Arizona. AERT holds classes in various locations around the state, is my understanding. I paid for the course which was to start at 6:30pm and I left my home at 5pm, which was plenty of time to reach the Glendale location (which is where the class was this particular evening) from Avondale, which is a 28 minute drive. The office closes at 5pm. I drove around in the vicinity of the class for 40 minutes. No signage to point me to the class and none of the businesses in the area that I asked knew of a CPR class in the area. I called the office hoping for to leave a message. The answering service stated, " If you need a call back from an instructor OR you cannot find your class leave a message in the EMERGENCY box and your call will be returned shortly". I left the message. While waiting for the call back I kept driving around and looking but my directions kept bringing me to the same location. I gave up around 7pm. I was tired and frustrated. I called the office the next morning in an attempt to reschedule or work something out. They do have a NO REFUND policy and I understood that. I spoke with Nanette in the office. She got a little testy with me but nothing like the owner Jamie Phillips. She called me and started cursing me before I can open my mouth. She kept telling me to "Shut up" "If you don't shut up I will hang up" . Well I needed to take the class so I was holding back to see what she was going to offer. The reason she was angry was because I expressed to Nanette that I understand the policy, HOWEVER, There was a message on the voicemail that stated that " leave a message in the EMERGENCY mailbox if you CANNOT find the location of your class AND someone would get back to you". Because no one got back to me and it was clear that I was in the vicinity of the class because I mentioned some of the landmarks there, that I should be allowed to attend another class. Jamie stated, "Just because you think you found a loophole with that voicemail, being lost is not an emergency, and I have now taken that off the voicemail." Each time I tried to say something she kept sighing and telling me "Can I speak ? Can I speak? Can you be quiet?" Very nasty and disrespectful. Jamie stated that, " My instructor was in the wrong because he is suppose to call all his students if you are not in the class you are scheduled for and find out where you are" No apology or nothing. I told her I just need a resolution. She stated, " I will ask the instructor if he wants to refund your money". She then asked me." If you want to schedule a class you can schedule a class at $65". I told her, "No thank you" and I hung up. I took my class elsewhere and had a great experience the next day but All in all I had to spend $100 for a class that is delivered at a fraction of the course. And by the way, I am only writing this because as the owner she did not try to work with me as a client and apparently the instructor decided to keep my money so I need to warn other caregivers and first responders of the type of person the owner is and as we all know the culture and attitude of a company starts at the head! Zeb was our instructor who came out to our facility to give the class and he was outstanding! He had us laughing and kept our attention by keeping us involved and making the class fun. The time seemed to fly by before I knew it we had our certification and leaving the building...in the future when I am to get my recertification I hope it is with Zeb...this guy can do improv! Nice people and good training (the basics ) but they did not tell me on the phone when I made an appt for a class that I had to come back for the written test to get my CPR card. Virginia the class instructor said they could come to me for test and that wasn't offered, and they told me they were open 9-5 but when I called to set up time for the test another lady said she was leaving at noon! The training I received with them was great. My issue was the communication from the office. I was scheduled for the wrong date which delayed employment for me. And wasn't told I had to wait to actually receive my CPR card through the mail. So that resulted in more delays in employment. The instructor was awesome, I just think the ladies in the office need to communicate better. They don't realize when most people sign up for a class they are expecting to have a card in hand by the end of class once the test has been passed. I probably will not use them again when it comes time to renew my CPR, too much of a hassle. read more
