I…read morehighly recommend it for career changers and working professionals who need to make the transition sooner rather than later. While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

The administration and their communicative skills are horrifying…read more They never answer you email, they pretty much set you up for failure, by never letting you know ahead of time how things are going to work. Never an explanation, and everything lays on the shoulders of the poor people on the chat that try to help as much as possible, but always trying do damage control more than prevention. No one to help you navigate this process. Even if you try to contact them ahead of time, the administration NEVER answers. You would think that after spending $2400 for one month they would make the effort to send an email before major requirements, but no, nothing at all. You might think to save time with their fast tracks, but with their disorganization, you are just getting stressed and getting slowed down by their incompetence. Teachers are great and helpful. But they are not in charge of the system and the program, so have limited access in helping with the steps outside the lecture. And all of this is coming from someone that so far completed the class with no major issues and no failures. So it's not the retaliation of someone who did not make it. But just REALISTIC facts about this institution.

The guy was just starting the class with infant dummies and then let another parent in after me and also went out to do a phone call break after he kicked me out of the class. The senior living people at the front desk were more helpful than this group. Very unfortunate. Sticking with other organizations to take the class.

I came to this First Aid and Training Center establishment due to a last minute need and was extremely disappointed with my experience. The instructor was super nice, but he lead the class via Video ( like 2-one hour videos!!). After sitting through the grueling 4+ hours, the most frustrating part was being told they don't give out completion cards. Plus their computer system wasn't working for the "e-version" certificate they said we'd receive, so I spent 4.5 hours on a Saturday morning and came away with a half completed piece of paper that doesn't have pertinent info I need to prove I took this class. Not a great experience at all. Wouldn't recommend this place.

The classes are held in a training classroom of the Red Cross building (see photos). Our instructor was Johnny, who came up from Tucson to teach the class. The morning was occupied with CPR/AEG training. A couple students who only needed certification in that left at that point. After lunch we did first aid for the next hour or two, and those who signed up for Adult training (including myself) left, leaving only a few students who also signed up for Pediatrics. I can't say enough good things about Johnny, our instructor. I had anticipated long dry lectures, and struggling to keep my eyes open. Instead, he was casual, humorous, and obviously very knowledgeable about the subject matter. The only drawback is the large amount of material covered.
