While it helps to have some natural study skills or to be reasonably good at tests, I hadn't been to in person classes in more than a decade and was concerned about being an older student. My concerns were completely put at ease from day one. Every instructor was both friendly and incredibly capable, knowing the content and the field with a depth of knowledge that only comes from years--and often decades--in the field. While the content was understandably intense and the volume of knowledge overwhelming, the course leaders were constantly checking in and offered extra instruction, guidance and support as needed. The skills staff brought youthful enthusiasm as well as a wealth of knowledge, too, and while that was the area I was most concerned about, we had structured time to practice until I felt 100% at ease. Instructors and staff were easily accessible, patient to a fault and always willing to help. As a career educator myself, I felt impressed by their ability to teach for hours and then stick around to help with skills practice and other needs as they arose. Finally, the reason I initially picked the program proved powerful: the all-inclusive nature. I have ADD and knew I might struggle to follow through on things like registering for the NREMT, or to create the appropriate accounts or know how to focus on which study aids. I also hate cooking and preferred to pick a program that included food so that this subject would be taken care of ahead of time. If you are truly focused on a quick turn around from education to job, this is the best option. Food was included, we got incredible discounts on local hotels nearby, PocketPrep was a lifesaver as I prepped, and every step was not only laid out for us, but we were taken through them together. I cannot emphasize the holistic nature of the program enough. I paid more versus other programs for "white glove service," and I got it--right down to the provided voucher to take the NREMT test itself. Thankfully, I passed the NREMT in 70 questions on the first try. If you can keep up for two weeks of your life and cut out all distractions, then the Unitek EMT Boot Camp is for you.

I ordered the Bay Area Refresher course on 6/29/2026 with an in-person skills verification class scheduled for 7/19 in SF. Tried to use the online chat bot to answer questions about the structure of the class and to verify the in-person class was actually meeting. Chat bot could not answer my questions. Emailed Victoria Yu-- never heard back from her. Multiple attempts made to call the company, without being connected to a human, with the bot citing "technical difficulties" even trying to pull up my acct info. Spoke to a human once on 7/16 to confirm the 7/19 class. He told me I'd receive a confirmation text "the next day". I received a text and email early morning on 7/18 canceling the skills verification "due to unforeseen circumstances". It was rescheduled for a date in August. I asked for a refund as I could not make the new date. Never got a response. I disputed this with my credit card company and did not win. Despite my response to the email stating I could not attend the August skills verification, I just received another text and email stating "We sincerely apologize, but due to unforeseen circumstances, your Skills Refresher scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, August 16, has been rescheduled to Sunday, September 13". I'm going to go out on a limb here and assume there will be no class on September 13th "due to unforeseen circumstances"!! Also want to note-- I did the 2-week bootcamp EMT course in 2023, very poorly run, unprofessional, initially stated "we don't have enough students signed up" the day we arrived to the first class. Paid $2500 to teach myself. You don't even get a physical textbook- it's all online and you lose access to it once the course ends.

Plus their computer system wasn't working for the "e-version" certificate they said we'd receive, so I spent 4.5 hours on a Saturday morning and came away with a half completed piece of paper that doesn't have pertinent info I need to prove I took this class.
