Ohhh baby we got a winner!!!…read more I had high expectations when I saw the Michilin Bib hanging over the kitchen, and boy did it live up to it. Not only was the food great but it also has a very cozy and unique vibe inside (well I guess technically it's outside.) there was no line and we got our food quick, I can't think of one thing to complain about. I got three tacos, all costing a mere 5$; Pork: absolutely blew me away. The first taco I started with and set the bar very high. I tried the first bite with all my friends and we instantly locked eyes because we knew we found something special 9.7/10 Pollo: nearly on the same level as the pork. The red onions on top gave it great texture and a unique flavor profile 9.2/10 Barbacoa: on its own it was solid! But when compared to its counterparts it wasn't quite as jaw dropping. 8.1/10 Overall: 9.4/10

A tight menu: several tacos, chips, beer, and probably other drinks (I was focused on the tacos). I bought five tacos based on recommendations from a couple of people in line. Also, I took a recommendation from the guy taking my order. ALL FIVE HIT THE MARK!!! Two of my tacos were vegetarian, WHAT? Yes, Vegetarian, AMAZING! WHAT THEY DID WITH BROCCOLI WAS UNREAL! ...and so yummy! ...the people working there were so cool, too!!! Bottom line - This is a must! Ya gotta check it out! @$5 per taco, THE TACOS ARE DELICIOUS! ...can't wait to go back!

The $14.25…read morefor a steak & egg burrito not so much... about average pricing for a protein packed burrito in the Bay Area. My friends and I stopped by for brunch and my wife and I had a chance to try out the aforementioned burritos. I really enjoyed the Sonoran-style flour tortillas the burritos are wrapped in here. The tortilla is extra thin, stretchy, and is covered with golden blisters on the exterior. The bean burrito had a great cheese pull and the beans were hearty and creamy. The steak was fine, but nothing amazing: there were a few pieces that were a bit hard to chew through because of the fat and gristle. That said, my biggest qualm with the burritos is how poorly they were rolled. After a few bites, the burritos would fall apart entirely and I needed to use a spoon to eat all the fillings that had fallen out. Ordering is done at the counter and you seat yourself at an open table while you wait for your food to be brought over to you. Overall, I would stop by again for the bean and cheese burrito.

Went in with zero expectations and left planning my next visit…read more Stopped by Tacos Mi Rancho near Lake Merritt and honestly didn't know what to expect. From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. Definitely looking forward to coming back.

After browsing the menu we decided on the AYCE option to sample the different types. The buffet starts with Pozole or Menudo, salad/taco bar, then 16+ types from vegetarian mole to traditional, and ends with Olla (Mexican coffee) and Te de Canela (Cinnamon Tea). Unlimited tortilla and chips. I tried 5 different types and my fav were mango and verde. I went back for seconds!! A great experience to try different moles without the commitment. The service was good at the beginning (we were the 2nd table) but as the lunch crowd came in and the restaurant filled up, we had to ask.

We give it five stars. What we liked about Mercado 925 was that they had dishes that were different. It was more than just the standard Mexican food you find at other restaurants. We tried the Pipian Tacos ($19) which had a brown mole sauce with peppers. We couldn't decide between this one and the Mole Poblano Tacos ($19) which also had a mole based sauce. Our server was great. After we finished, he brought out a sample of the Mole Poblano sauce for us to try out. They were both good. They had three salad selections the day we were there. We tried the La Remolacha ($16), which had roasted beets and mango. It was a good salad. We also had the Quesabirria Red Tacos ($19). They were not bad. There are other places around that have really good quesabirria for a lot less money. If we were on a quest for quesabirria, we would go to one of those places instead. Our visit was on a Saturday around 2pm. The restaurant was not crowded at that time and we seated quickly. Service was good. There was street parking, not a dedicated lot. The food was good, but we will probably try some other places nearby before eating here again. Pricing was a little high for what you get.

They've also made it to the Michelin Bib Gourmand list several years in a row, so you know the food is going to be legit! They don't accept reservations, so getting there and hoping for a table is your best bet. We were a group of 5, and after about a 20 min wait (pretty much par-for-the-course for a Saturday night), we were seated. They do have tables outside, but we were told that we couldn't start our meal outside and then move to a table indoors after one was available, so we waited. Oh well! As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of online orders, indicating this is a popular place with those in the neighborhood. We got a few beers while we waited for a table. They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!

It was 3 tacos for $9 but they were kind of small so thankfully I wasn't that hungry. I ordered a chicken and two carne asadas, I think. We were able to sit at the indoor tables. The order came out quickly but I would say I've had better tacos. This place felt like a chain, but the tacos were more authentic than a Chevy's or El Torito. It was also definitely way more casual even though they had a bar. The bar had a bunch of tvs playing sports channels. It would seem like a fun place to catch a game with some friends. Other than that, it was just a place my friend and I decided on last minute because her preferred spot wasn't open for some reason.
