It was well worth navigating the detours. I ordered my go-to: a Double-Double Protein Style, crispy fries, and a strawberry shake. The burger was everything I expect from In-N-Out--fresh, juicy, and loaded with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, and their signature spread. Going Protein Style lets the quality of the beef really shine. The fries were cooked just the way I like them--crispy on the outside while still hot and tender inside. I even managed to finish every last fry, which doesn't happen very often! The strawberry shake was thick, creamy, and the perfect way to finish the meal. One thing I appreciate about In-N-Out is the consistency. Whether I'm stopping in Texas or somewhere else, I know exactly what I'm going to get: fresh ingredients, friendly service, and one of the best fast-food burgers around. Now we are in our golden years and we can't eat that much, so we split one. But it was just as delicious as it has been each previous time! The Chicken was fried too absolutely perfection! The golden brown skin was seasoned perfectly and was very crunchy, just the way we like it. And the meat was hot and fork tender, Oh, I still prefer to use My fingers.
