No trip to Texas is complete without at least one stop at In-N-Out Burger. Even with all the road construction around Denton, we weren't about to let that keep us away. It was well worth navigating the detours. I ordered my go-to: a Double-Double Protein Style, crispy fries, and a strawberry shake. The burger was everything I expect from In-N-Out--fresh, juicy, and loaded with crisp lettuce, ripe tomatoes, onions, and their signature spread. Going Protein Style lets the quality of the beef really shine. The fries were cooked just the way I like them--crispy on the outside while still hot and tender inside. I even managed to finish every last fry, which doesn't happen very often! The strawberry shake was thick, creamy, and the perfect way to finish the meal. One thing I appreciate about In-N-Out is the consistency. Whether I'm stopping in Texas or somewhere else, I know exactly what I'm going to get: fresh ingredients, friendly service, and one of the best fast-food burgers around. I remember when this famously California burger chain opened locations in Texas. This was back around 2011 and it was a big deal. It's still a big deal to find modestly priced high-quality burgers served super fast. This isn't your Mickey D's or those five dudes or even that burger royalty. In-N-Out is simply awesome and they now have some 40 locations across Texas. Mrs. K. and I stopped in because I saw the big neon sign tower from the highway and could not resist. After parking (because the Sprinter won't fit in their drive through), I ordered at the counter. it was busy at 6:30pm on a weekday so it did take about ten minutes before my number was called. That gave Mrs. K. enough time to drain a first cup of sweet tea and send me for a refill. I picked up my burger and brought it back to the table. A "double double" which comes with two burger patties and two slices of cheese plus the other great stuff, along with a small basket of fries. Mrs. K. isn't eating meat these days so while I enjoyed the heck out of this hot and delicious burger, she consumed about half of the fries. A couple of things to keep in mind, that I had forgotten. In-N-Out has a great secret menu. You can order our burger "animal style" which adds mustard grilled beef, extra pickles, extra grilled onions and extra sauce (it's like Thousand-Island dressing). Interesting concept that generally draws rave reviews. Well-staffed with adequate floorspace, but was quite swamped with customers during my visit. But I liked the bright and cheerful atmosphere of the place. Interesting. As always, with fast food joints, I Ordered a burger (single), fries and a drink. To be candid, I was disappointed. This was a few months back and I really don't recall much of the transaction but, after having read all the hype about INO, I expected something along the line of a Jumbo Jack or Whopper but what I got was less: just a plain old burger with absolutely no personality. I've never seen a burger so thin, is it possible on Saturday nights they make them skinnier so as to move the line along faster? In N Out is a must when passing through Texas. The staff is always hard at work, super friendly and fast. This place is so clean even with how busy they are. I have also been to the one in Las Vegas smack dab in the middle of plenty of other casinos and guess what? The prices abd service is the same. They don't inflate the prices even though they could if they wanted, but we appreciate that they don't take advantage of their guests. This place was clean, the workers were nice. We got here right before the lunch rush thank goodness, because these burgers do take a few minutes to receive. This a cut and dry basic type of place. No thrills or anything fancy. You can remove items from the bread, cheese, meat, onions, tomato, lettuce and speciality sauce, but can't add anything else, which I already knew. This is a great In-N-Out location. This was the first In-N-Out Burger I have visited in the country that didn't have an extremely long wait. My order was custom and they still did a great job completely my order in a timely manner. Never had In-N-Out till they came to Texas. This location is always busy at the drive thru. Don't be discouraged if you see a long line. They are very fast and efficient. Kind of like the Chick-fil-a of burgers. They are really good. Menu is about as simple as it gets which has can be a real asset so they can focus on good food and not a 100 different random food choices. My favorite is a 4x4 with cheese plain and animal style fries and you must get a shake too. Really good food and served fresh. On top of it all the staff is masked up, where gloves, and take safety serious. They are not letting the pandemic stop them from providing great service. I still feel bad they allow dine in here in Texas because most that go in don't know how to wear a mask but that's another issue. This place is the best! I honestly love the simple menu that serves such delicious flavorful burgers. Anyhow, my first visit to this location was way after it had already opened because this place always has a huge line in the drive thru, which is obviously a good sign. I came here with my mom and brother after a long day Six Flags and we decided we really wanted some In-N-Out. We came and it was prob 11:30 pm and ordered our food and the staff was just so friendly as we ordered our food, and they actually brought our food to us prob since it wasn't crazy busy like it is during the day. Their bathrooms were super clean even after a long day, the floors and tables were spotless, the drink station was also well kept. I was very impressed with everything. When our food was brought out to us it was all super fresh and pipping hot, just like I like it. Burger was cooked to perfection and fries were on point. Ok, so as a Texan I'm not supposed to like In-N-Out Burger, and I do in fact feel like a traitor to Whataburger when I say this...but I love In-N-Out burgers! (Don't 'get a rope' me!) The little burgers are so fresh, hot, seasoned and yummy and are great munchy food when you have a craving for a good burger. If you're hungry, make sure to get a double or triple as the burgers are a little small...but I really like the big flavor they have! I don't have a lot to say about the fries...I would give them a so-so rating and Whataburger definitely has the edge on them in this category as well as the menu items available.
