After a 17-Hour drive to the area, I was really looking forward to making myself a nice salad. However, their salad bar was a little sad. The romaine mix was almost gone, and the mixed greens had a lot of wilted leaves in it. Also, all of the fixings (nuts, peppers, trail mix, croutons, etc. we're removed from the bar. This location is always clean, friendly and accommodating! I have discovered the Modern Med salad and LOVE all the flavors together! I usually love Jason's Deli because it's pretty good deli food with a chill environment for a small child, however, this is the worst location I've ever had the displeasure of dining at. The manager at this location is top notch. He is extremely attentive to the customers. He makes his people hussle and do a good job. In the past I've had very mediocre visits with this location. I think that it is worth noting that Jason's is not one of my favorite places, and this is the only one I've ever been too. The experiences I had previously is what made me not want to frequent as often as Panera, or Corner Bakery. However, on my recent visit, I was pleasantly surprised at the way things have turned around. I believe they knocked down a wall or something because now there is even more ample seating. Everyone there was so helpful and eager to serve me. That is something that I've never experienced here. I ordered the grilled cheese and tomato soup combo. Both were very good One of my favorite things about this place are the muffins that are on the salad bar, as well as the chocolate mousse. Both were very good as well today! In addition to the great food, I noticed that everything was extremely clean on my visit. A table never stayed dirty for longer than one minute, and they made sure the salad bar was clean, and stocked at all times. This visit makes me want to return in the very near future! I have been to this location a few times today wasn't the best of the best. I ordered a quarter muffuletta with pot pie soup. The soup comes with a flaky top pastry which is usually buttery and light but today it was over cooked and crispy. The sandwich, which is always to large for me to eat I am used to taking with me a portion, however today there was no way I was taking it home it tasted bitter and acidic. The typical combo of olives, vinegar and carrots was displeasing tasting and made my bread damp from over saturation and pungent with to much of something. I ended up picking my sandwich apart to salvage the parts which weren't saturated by whatever it was that they added which was not typical. The others in my party were pleased with their food otherwise to be honest today would have been a one star kinda day. Vegetarians : this is not a bad place if you're ok with the possibility of meat having been prepared around the produce . Salad bars are well stocked and clean but bacon / ham other meat products and cheese occasionally get mixed in the produce accidentally. The vegan menu is not halal but has a style you can customize . The tea here is good and I was happy they provided tea's taste brand which is good when they have it in stock . I'm not a traditional vegan and only eat vegan once a week so I'm not bothered with having to pick out animal by products but if you are a traditional vegan this place isn't for you . CARRYOUT MANAGER NEEDS TO BE FIRED IMMEDIATELY --- SHE IS NOT FIT TO BE A MANAGER IN ANY WAY. I honestly don't even know where to start. We ordered our food over the phone & it was a very simple order for our family. We were told it'd be ready in 10-15 minutes. We got there at the 15 minute mark as we only live about 5-7 miles away. We waited another 10 minutes just to be sure before I walked into the 'carryout' door with what looked to be at least 6 people who were visibly upset with how long they too had already been there waiting. This carryout manager failed to even acknowledge me for 2 minutes (at least) & then finally asked for the name. I gave it to her & she said it'd be out in 2 minutes. Long story short, we went through this same cycle 3 times and waited almost 40 minutes. We did make it known to the 'takeout/carryout manager of our displeasure & she proceeded to try & claim that "payment never went through on our card" whenever we PAID over the phone ---- card numbers given, exp date & CCV ---- receipt to prove it. The TO-GO/Catering "manager" at this location (2219 LOOP 288, Denton TX 76205) is a nightmare individual. Their chicken pot pie soup is delicious! And being a gastric sleeve patient, I ordered the cup instead of the bowl, and it was the perfect portion size for me. This was my first time visiting Jason's Deli, and I will definitely be going back. I only gave 4 stars because the service wasn't good. I waited at the counter for nearly 5 minutes waiting for someone to take my order. The employees would see me, smile, then just walk by or start doing something else. One girl even approached the counter and answered the phone and took a phone order, then just walked away and still left me standing there. Jason's has the best salad bar in Denton. (I've tried them all.) That's why they get 5-stars. They are a good place for brunch; they open at 10AM every day. The sandwiches are always thick with generous portions of meat and other ingredients. They never stint. If it's only a sandwich you want, other sandwich shops in Denton compare well (or surpass), but Jason's is one of the good ones. Their menu is on their website. Vegetarians can go with their meat eating friends, confident that there will be items on the menu, and the salad bar, that they may eat. Ordered on Uber Eats, they forgot my whole sandwich, but gave me the chips for it. The receipt was a huge paper and had everything on it, the sandwich was above the chips. I've been to this location a few times and have been let down time and time again. I used to work at one for a few years and loved the food, it's just a shame this is the closest location to me. Whether it be the freshness of their products (brown avocado on a chicken club salad) or blatantly forgetting items on to go orders (missing bacon and guacamole on a Smokey Jack Panini). I enjoy eating the salad bar as Jason's Deli. The sandwiches are good too but I just can't pass up the opportunity to eat so many fresh veggies. The self-help kiosk is very helpful to get through the line quickly when you just want salad bar. For a while they removed the eggs from the salad bar so I can now get enough protein with the salad bar alone. The tomato salad and hummus are especially good.
