Hired Chris a month ago to cut my grass twice a month. First time he did a terrible job. The grass was so short it made patches in half of the front lawn. Also, he left a large area of weeds and grass on the side of the house completely untouched. Said he would be back in a couple of weeks and will do everything next time. Came back from a three week vacation and the grass is really long. Called Chris and he told me that he would be by the next day. He never came. Sent him a text and he said he would take care of it on the weekend. Never came. Another text. I'll be there tomorrow. Never came. Texted him. Said something about family issues and he would be there tomorrow. Never came. Another text. Said he would be there when it cools down after six. At eight I asked if he was still coming. Never heard back. Today I'm looking at Yelp reviews for a new person. Saw a number that looked familiar and it is Chris. Run people of Yelp! Anyone have recommendations of a competent lawn service?? Edit : Chris, I only added the pics after reading your comment about how it was difficult to get ahold of me, when that was clearly not the case. You asked why did I wanted to hire you again after the first terrible job. Well, I believe everyone deserves a second chance and I gave you multiple chances to redeem yourself. Too bad you couldn't find the time to come by and do the job you "promised" to do. Lastly, my experience doesn't sound unique. Maybe you should read a couple of your other reviews. This seems like a common problem for you. People come to Yelp to see patterns of costumer service so they know what to expect. So, thank you for your comments. I'm sure nobody will have any doubt what to expect from you after reading your comments. Edit 2 : If anyone actually reads all of this, Chris deleted his last two comments. Now I am being accused of modifying the texts! All of this after he deleted his previous posts... So, I am adding another photo showing the Yelp emails proving how many times he has changed his reviews. Chris, if I modified the texts them please provide a pic of the original texts. Yeah, that will be impossible to do! Do you have any integrity at all? Too bad all of this will probably never be read and you will continue to scam people out of their money. $40 is not the issue, it's the principle of the matter. For your own sake, I seriously hope that you try to work on your professionalism. You are a grown man, time to start acting like one.... read more

BE AWARE!!!! HAPPENED WITH ME! I asked for recommendations to install a sprinkler in my backyard in a group on Facebook and a guy name Christopher Almendarez called me by message. I called him to come here to check it out the best way to do that and to check what he needs and how much will cost. He came and gave me the instructions about what he thinks was the best way to do that and he said my hose needs to be fixed and he gave me the price for all the service. Before i say to him I want to do the service I asked him if everything will be hidden because of my dog and because I don't want anything exposed and ugly. He said yes and said only the feeder tube will be exposed but everything else hidden. We did an appointment. He came and my son paid him because I was at work. First of all he did not gave us any receipt for the payment!!! Even after I asked him to do that because I need to show the landlord. And worse of that, when I came home and checked his service I saw that he did not fix the hose and everything is leaking now. (I asked him to come back to fix it and he said that is not his business. How?? How he will install a sprinkler without leave that working?!) And more of all this, he left everything ridiculously ugly and exposed and I think he did not put the right thing because the water is coming crazy! I tried to contact him and he said it's not his business and his service was done. Like I said, how someone come, check, say what he needs to INSTALL A SPRINKLER SYSTEM and after that say that if it's leaking is not his business????? Then, he said he will come to do "by his heart" but gave me a lot excuses and never came. Now, he blocked me and I cannot contact him anymore! I'm pregnant and very mad right now. It's just to aware everyone about this company and this guy because nobody deserves that! I have everything saved on my Facebook messenger!!! And have photos and etc. THE NAME OF HIS BUSINEES IS "lawns hedges and weeds". But he gave a quote with another name, address and etc. JUST SAW ON HIS FULL PROFILE. AND IT'S ANOTHER THING THAT DISAPPOINTED ME. Why he putted different name and address on my quote? That's scary! read more

NO CALL, NO SHOW. Initially, Chris was very responsive via yelp. Answered all my questions in a New York minute, but failed to show up twice. Since you seem to respond to negative reviews, just remember that your time is as precious as mine. read more

They might do good landscaping but not so good on fences. We searched the Nextdoor App for a recommendation on fence repair. -Worked 4 hours a day -6 days to replace 6 fence posts -left nails, screws debris all over -did not haul away old wood -did not put all fence boards back -left some screws not inserted on boards When he came to the door to collect his pay, he said he wasn't used to replacing just the fence posts and that a new fence would've been quicker. I wish he had declined the job up front. My husband spent 3 hours completing their work. read more

I totally recommend Chris. Great communication, accurate and affordable estimate/price. I had some yard cleanup and mulch done and they did a great job.. I plan on using his services again. read more

My relationship with Chris started out great- quick response, fair estimate, etc. We had several projects for Chris and each one was started quickly, however there always seemed to be an excuse as to why they could not be totally finished. When I communicated my displeasure with Chris he was apologetic and said they would be here Monday to finish EVERYTHING. Sadly, it is the following Monday & Chris never showed up, nor returned my calls, texts, or emails. What started out so promising has left a very bad taste in my mouth! We are left with several partially finished jobs that we have paid for- BAD BUSINESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My front yard landscaping was outta control with all different types of weeds! Chris came and cleared all of the weeds out and cleaned up the landscaping and it looks great! I can't thank him enough! Fast, affordable, and efficient. I won't call anyone else. read more

Are you kidding me?! I can't rate any lower, but I'd give zero stars if I could! First, let me provide some background. In preparation for this job, I had been digging up and capping sprinklers that might be under the play area or spray directly onto the swing set. There were at least 14 sprinklers in all, and when Chris came to give his quote, two sprinklers that would have been buried under the bark were sticking out of the ground an inch or two. Chris thought those should be cut down and capped below ground, but being a nice guy, he offered to correct those (since he had to remove a layer of dirt anyway). While he was at it, he offered to cap the last two that I had not done, since the caps were cheap and it was minimal labor involved. This was one of the things that made me think Chris was a good guy and convinced me to hire him at the time. So now I'm out of town for business while the swing set is being installed. I asked my wife to test the sprinklers to make sure that none of them spray directly onto the swing set. According to her, the guys installing the play set pointed out that there are sprinklers coming on underneath the play area. So now I'm assuming that we've got to remove the bark from the area where the last two sprinklers were, cut a hole through the weed barrier fabric, cap the two sprinklers that Chris volunteered to do for me, and then recover that area with bark. Fortunately, they aren't directly under the swing set itself. But it's one more commitment that Chris failed to meet. It's now been 2 weeks since I first reached out to Chris with questions about the work he'd done, and after 4 e-mails, 2 phone calls (with voice mails), a Yelp message directly to Chris, and even this bad review that was posted over a week ago, I've still heard nothing from Chris. Hire this guy at your own risk! I don't know if the people that posted good reviews were his friends, or if the work he does is just that inconsistent. But mine isn't the only bad review, and it seems like hiring him may be the equivalent of playing Russian roulette. read more

Chris is a true professional! He returned my messages in a timely fashion and quickly set up an appointment to give me an estimate. My front yard has drought resistant landscape and is prone to lots of weeds. I was very satisfied with the weed removal as well as the trimming of my lavender bushes. My front yard looks great! I will definitely call Chris again. read more

I am admittedly super picky and hard to impress, so taking tome to write this review should tell you how pleases I am with Chris! He was the fourth landscaper we tried at our new house, and we are keeping him! Outstanding communicator, attention to detail, very friendly, fair, and reliable. What more could anyone ask for? Thank you, Chris and crew! U rock. (Pun intended) :) read more

I had an appointment with this company for an estimate between 2:30 and 4:30. He showed up at 2:15 during a phone appointment I was on. I stopped my appointment to answer the door and tell him that I could not meet before 2:30 so he left. I had to text him more than once to find out if he was coming and his response was, "I left." How unprofessional was that?! Coming early to an appointment and expecting someone to accommodate him and then leave in a huff is unprofessional and rude. I would not recommend this person at all. I see that Chris is upset that I wrote him a bad review a few minutes after he left. He admits that our appointment was for 2:30 and that he was early. His response makes it clear that he wants what he wants when he wants it. Our appointment was for 2:30. He was early. He interrupted my appointment and didn't wait until the appointment time, instead left in a huff. Unprofessional any way you cut it. read more

Impressed from reasonable quote till the end of an amazing job. I requested a quote and within a half hour Chris was at our home doing an onsite quote. He was able to schedule our job two days out from the quote. Our yard was over grown for months, him and his team worked on our yard for three hours and my husband and I are so pleased with the level of work they did, and the professionalism Chris and his team had in respect to our home, yard, animals, and the ease of answering all our questions. Great job ! Definitely hiring these guys to landscape our front yard ! read more

Cleaned out and snaked my gutters/drainage system. Rain flowing down as it should now. Installed downspout caps to help prevent leaves and large debris in the future. So happy that I was referred to this company and the owner was very responsive and helpful! I sent a text message asking for a quote for removing a small "volunteer" palm tree and they came right out. I am definitely going to use this company again (Palm tree was gone in a few minutes too). Thanks Chris! read more

I contacted this business by their "text us" promo. I never received a call back. I find it unprofessional for a business not to call back a potential customer. I guess this company doesn't need business from a small time residential client. read more

Chris was AWESOME. He was on time and did excellent work! I recommend and will definitely call on him again.

Chris and his team have done a fantastic job each time they come out to my property. I'm very specific on what I want and does exactly as asked. Wow! I can't say enough good about the customer service from Chris. My husband was ill with back pain and had to have surgery- meanwhile our backyard went to heck! We hated even looking out the windows! I could mow the front - but not the long grass or weed removal that was needed. I sent Chris a message and a few hours later he responded- we set the day and BOOM- done!! And a great price too!!! My husband is going to be so happy- look out Chris you may have a job for life with us!! read more

I had overgrown weeds taking over my backyard that needed to be taken care of promptly due to an upcoming visit from my landlord. Rudest, most unprofessional company ever! It'sran by one person Who Took my money and didn't finish the job. When I called I asked what was going on no answer, only text message. There are way better places out there that have good customer service and actually finish the entire job. read more

Not sure about these other reviews but Chris has been faithfully doing my lawn for the last two years. I've had the greatest customer service to match the exemplary lawn care that Chris provides. I don't usually write reviews, but Chris definitely deserves a shout out or two. Found him through Craigslist and sent him a text and he was able to meet me that night and go over every detail of what I wanted and how I wanted to keep things as affordable as possible. Him being the pro, I relied on him to do the research and price things out and come back to me with #'s. Next thing I know, he was out the next day (of course after me accepting the cost) and was able to turn an eyesore into a clean, neat product. Even our neighbors came over and mentioned how much better it looked! Needless to say, I won't hesitate to contact him for any of my future landscaping needs! read more

I contacted Chris, by phone, last week to receive an estimate on clearing, weeding, and roto-tilling, an overgrown parcel in Vallejo, CA. He and I discussed the specifics of the job in detail, and he advised that the work would be completed within a few days as I needed all of the overgrown vegetation removed by Friday morning for an inspection. When speaking with Chris initially I felt confident that I had found someone to provide quality work at a decent price, until I never heard back from him? On Thursday evening I called to check on the jobs progress and my call went unanswered (sent to voicemail), I left a message and sent a text and have never received a response. I arrived at the location on Friday and found that NO WORK had been done at all. Honestly, if he would have just called or sent a quick text to say he was no longer interested in performing the work, or that he couldn't do the job, I could have easily found another company/person to take care of it. What a headache! read more
