Eduardo Canales and Los Tules Landscaping helped us a few years ago with a smaller project. They…read moredid good work, so we called them back again this year for a bigger yard project. Los Tules did: complete weed clearing in 1 day(!) weed blocking cloth balanced, aesthetic design with benderboard divider automatic irrigation, re-using our rainbird timer at our request mulch and rock of our choice kept existing fruit trees and planted some potted plants at our request We might be the world's worst yard weeds(?!). Our backyard veggie gardening fell by the wayside and we realized it was too much upkeep to continue. Our goal was to have a tidy, low maintenance yard and keep our fruiting trees. Eduardo and Paulino also helped with creative ideas when we asked for advice (and did not proffer unsolicited advice). Eduardo LISTENED to what we wanted. Los Tules worked hard, long days, and in less than a week, we had a lovely, aesthetic yard. It feels calming, relaxing and welcoming.

He gave us some ideas of what we could do. He didn't try and upsale us on anything. In fact, he suggested some great ideas on how we could work with what we had. We ended up having SLS install a flat stone patio with stairs, pour new concrete on the side of our home, re sod our front and backyard, and fix our sprinkler system. They did an excellent job! They didn't cut corners anywhere. When re sodding our front yard, they even removed weeds in between our cement and all around our palm tree. When their work was finished, they even came back a couple of days later to check on the sod and the patio. They take pride in their work and it shows. During the whole process, Paul was always available to answer any questions we had. SLS was very reasonable with their prices, and there were no hidden costs. Everyone that works for SLS is great. It is a family business. They work hard and their craftmanship is excellent! We are so happy that we decided to go with SLS. There are a lot of landscaping companies to choose from, but we will be calling SLS for future landscaping needs.

Hired Chris a month ago to cut my grass twice a month. First time he did a terrible job. The…read moregrass was so short it made patches in half of the front lawn. Also, he left a large area of weeds and grass on the side of the house completely untouched. Said he would be back in a couple of weeks and will do everything next time. Came back from a three week vacation and the grass is really long. Called Chris and he told me that he would be by the next day. He never came. Sent him a text and he said he would take care of it on the weekend. Never came. Another text. I'll be there tomorrow. Never came. Texted him. Said something about family issues and he would be there tomorrow. Never came. Another text. Said he would be there when it cools down after six. At eight I asked if he was still coming. Never heard back. Today I'm looking at Yelp reviews for a new person. Saw a number that looked familiar and it is Chris. Run people of Yelp! Anyone have recommendations of a competent lawn service?? Edit : Chris, I only added the pics after reading your comment about how it was difficult to get ahold of me, when that was clearly not the case. You asked why did I wanted to hire you again after the first terrible job. Well, I believe everyone deserves a second chance and I gave you multiple chances to redeem yourself. Too bad you couldn't find the time to come by and do the job you "promised" to do. Lastly, my experience doesn't sound unique. Maybe you should read a couple of your other reviews. This seems like a common problem for you. People come to Yelp to see patterns of costumer service so they know what to expect. So, thank you for your comments. I'm sure nobody will have any doubt what to expect from you after reading your comments. Edit 2 : If anyone actually reads all of this, Chris deleted his last two comments. Now I am being accused of modifying the texts! All of this after he deleted his previous posts... So, I am adding another photo showing the Yelp emails proving how many times he has changed his reviews. Chris, if I modified the texts them please provide a pic of the original texts. Yeah, that will be impossible to do! Do you have any integrity at all? Too bad all of this will probably never be read and you will continue to scam people out of their money. $40 is not the issue, it's the principle of the matter. For your own sake, I seriously hope that you try to work on your professionalism. You are a grown man, time to start acting like one....

Before they started each stage, they confirmed that I was aligned with the placement of the plants. After they finished planting, they checked in with me to ensure what they planted met my expectations.
