I said no, regular manicure. I received and paid for a gel manicure, which was a higher price. I'm sure I could have argued, but I had dinner plans and hate confrontation. The Gel X Nail removal went pretty well, but I was nicked by the electric file no fewer than a dozen times. It wasn't particularly painful, but certainly wasn't pleasant. I also heard the staff speaking poorly about customers and their accents which was not very welcoming. The manicure itself was fine, though there is a lot of color bleed that I'll be touching up myself.

I was originally recommended to Maya, the owner, and she's the one who did my brows on my most recent visit--and she did an amazing job. The other two times, different staff members took care of me, and even then, I had no complaints. Each time, the shaping was clean, flattering, and consistent. They are decently priced--I believe I paid $12 for my eyebrows, plus an additional tip. For the quality of work, I think it's very fair. It would be great if they introduced some sort of membership or rewards program for frequent visitors; that would definitely add value. The only downside is that every time I've gone in, there's only been one person working. The wait can be long, especially during busy hours. It would really help if they hired more staff to keep up with demand. Outside of the wait, though, the results keep me coming back. If you're thinking about trying them out, I definitely recommend it--just try to go early or during off-peak hours if you're in a rush!

I went to Unique on a Friday at about 1:00, and it was busy. It was about a 20-minute wait, but there was only one lady working. She was friendly, quick, and attentive. After each customer, she wiped down the seat and sanitized her hands. She wore gloves and a mask. I wish I would have gotten this lady's name because it was pretty obvious she had a following. Almost all of the customers ahead of me and waiting while I was getting threaded seemed to be regulars. After I was threaded, the lady trimmed my brows, applied aloe for the potential redness and irritation, and then filled in my brows with some brow powder since she was too busy to give me a brow tint. Honestly, I thought the powder filler was a really nice touch. I don't know where she learned how to thread, but it's as if her touch was blessed by fairies or some otherworldly entity because she was so gentle. I didn't feel the thread raking across my skin, and I didn't tear up as the hair was being pulled out. I could barely feel a thing. This woman was a threading ninja. Pro tip: I was told they are always busy from noon to 2:00, and then 5:00 and after, so plan accordingly if you don't want to wait.

I even brought in photos of what had been done on me in the past by stylists back home. She had me leave with my hair up in tiny buns on my head and told me to take them down before my shoot and run my fingers through them. I thought this was strange as in the past hairstylists just used a 1 inch curling wand. My hair turned out atrocious and she could not fit me in to fix her mistake. I was given a refund, but I will never get back the opportunity to take decent graduation photos. Most of the lash extensions are stuck to my eyelid instead of my eyelashes. Unfortunately this place just isn't very good at what they do, my extensions look like one big clumpy disaster. After a day, the extension roots started painfully hurting my eyelids. After about 3 days, more than half the refills fell out. I called back again a week later at 10:00AM, to make an appointment for a full set at 1:30PM on the same day. The receptionist told me that I could head over then. After heading over, they said they were busy and didn't have me down for an appointment, and said I probably called the wrong number even though I showed them the call history from my phone. They then told me to go back at 2:00PM. I appreciated that they worked to fit me in. While getting the extensions, the person working on me constantly was distracted, picking up phone calls and running around. After about 10 minutes on unprofessional service, he had someone else come over to do my lashes instead. While she worked on me, my eyes started stinging so much it was painful to even open them. When I told her she got glue in my eyes, she said "Just close your eyes, it'll be good for you." Although she was very nice, it was the most painful eyelash extension experience I've ever had in my life. When she finished, a lot of the lashes were glued together and both eyes were uneven. I had to stay for even longer for her to fix it. The next day, I noticed extreme CLUMPED shedding from my lashes, resulting in my actual eyelashes falling out as well. It was extremely painful as the eyelash roots were poking my eyelids again. I called back to the salon and told them my situation. The receptionist said: "Well, you know we worked really hard to fit you in that day. We really scrambled. We don't offer refunds, but MAYBE we can offer you a discount for your next set. Let me call you back." She expected me to spend even more money on a mistake they made. Then she never called me back. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND First picture: Shedding from lashes after THREE days. Notice how the lashes were all glued together in CLUMPS. Second picture: A close-up of a clump that fell out ONE day after getting the full set. Third picture: Even more shedding ONE day after getting the full set.

I was in a pinch before vacation and was already at the mall so I figured I would cancel my nail…read moreappointment elsewhere and try this place. I asked for dip with tips and a regular pedicure. The nail tech who did my pedicure was unhappy with the fact that I chose the regular pedicure and kept trying to upsell me. She was unhappy I chose a light color on my toes because it was more coats. She continued talking in a different language the whole time which made me feel like she was talking about me. She used gel polish and didn't even ask if I wanted it or that it was $12 extra. I found that out at the end. I was a walk in so I didn't mind waiting but I was told "15 min" and it was like an hour. The woman who did my nails seemed to be rushing. She forgot to turn the UV light on and blamed me for not telling her. She filed excessively and never pushed my cuticles back. I asked for short and she didn't even ask what shape she just filed square. The nails turned out pretty good but the experience wasn't great. It was very expensive and I know nails are expensive hence why I only do them for special occasions. The fact that they didn't even tell me about the up charge on the toe polish really upset me seeing I chose the basic pedicure for a reason. I was there for 3 hours. It's been a week and 3 of my nails broke at the cuticles and peeled off. I paid for dip which is supposed to have better hold up. I will not go back and I don't feel comfortable going back in and having them fixed because they already look grown out. Save your money ladies.

I came in last Tuesday to get a full set, my daughter got a full set, and I also got a pedicure. Everything looked fine at first, but the very next day my nails felt a little loose. I didn't think too much of it, but within a few days one nail popped off and then another one today. This isn't my first issue here either. The first time, I ended up with an infection in my thumb and I didn't say anything because I couldn't prove where it came from. The second time, there was so much gel pushed back on my nail that it was actually uncomfortable and affecting my nail growth. I had to come back to have it fixed, and even then some nails were already lifting. So now this is my third experience, and instead of someone saying come in, let us take a look, I was told they only guarantee nails for 24 hours and I'd have to pay to fix them. That just didn't sit right with me. I even asked if that policy is posted somewhere for customers to see, and I never got a clear answer. At this point, it's not even just about the nails, it's about customer service. When someone comes to you with a concern, especially after being a repeat customer, the response matters. Because of this, I will likely not be returning. I'm not one to leave reviews like this, but I think people should know what to expect.
