I sat at seat 6 for acrylic full set. The nail tech paid close attention to the design that I wanted and took her time with filing my nail. Walk-ins are welcome. I walked in for a regular manicure and the wait was 25 minutes. I noticed that there were many walk-ins today when I came so I would highly recommend making an appointment instead. Manicures are $12 but are $10 for students. Their sns nail powder dip is $39 (slightly more expensive than most places). They also offer waxing and massages. Their nail polish options for regular manicures was larger than half the places I've been in the area. They charge $10 if you're getting a regular manicure but need sns powder to be removed. It's $5 if you're getting a manicure but need gel to be removed. There's plenty of parking. They offer discounts if you pay in cash. They also offer a 10% discount for friends who have been referred by someone. They have a frequent-buyer punch card where you get a discount or free service if you've purchased 6 services. They have around 8 pedicure stations and 7 nail stations. It looks like gel manicures are the most popular thing here. I got a regular manicure by a man and he was great. He painted my nails so effortlessly and quickly. The removing of the previous sns dip powder took the longest. They have free drinks and chips for customers. They also play HGTV for your entertainment. If you're not satisfied with your service, you can potentially get a 20% refund. Some places remove the powder by having you soak the entire time but this one files it off with a mechanized drill first then soak your nails with acetone, a cotton ball and foil after. The drill was stronger and pushed on more pressure than most drills I've experienced from my various sns dip experiences in other salons. read more

Came in with my friend for two pedicures. The salon was clean and our appointment started on time. They have changed their signage to show all the prices for student pricing. This was my 3rd pedicure with them. I got Nana the first time, who I really like. The water was too cold in the beginning but she adjusted it. She doesn't talk much but was meticulous with my cuticles. I like how she asks before every step and isn't rough with my feet. I felt a callus under my big toe and she scrubbed it again until it was smoother. My calluses aren't bad, I just have dry feet. If you have thick calluses, I would opt for the special callus treatment. It's worth every penny. Her massage style is very relaxing. The second time I got Leo since I wanted to let my friend try Nana. She had gel polish on her toes and they charged her $5 for removal. Just a heads up for anyone who wants to do it at home ahead of time. Leo is thorough and patient. I accidentally over trimmed my toenails but he managed to make them look great. He is very quick and efficient. I love his painting style, my polish lasted a long time. My friend loved her polish and cuticle clean up but when she got home, her heels definitely needed to be scrubbed a little more. She doesn't have bad calluses but you can see where it was missed with the pumice stone. We both got punch cards and plan on returning. Tip in cash, it is most appreciated and easiest for the workers. There is an ATM in Kinney's right next door. They offer light snacks and refreshments. Chips and water. They also changed their spa pedicure special to a blueberry one. I will upload and label photos! I made an appointment but even after I got there they had me wait for 15 minutes. The lady that was doing my nails was not very friendly, and then halfway through a man came in and started doing my nails. He did a terrible job. There are parts of my cuticles glued together and there is polish on my knuckles which I did not ask to be colored. The polish is lumpy on my nails, it looks like a mini hill. Not happy. Don't think I'll be going here again. Was in Syracuse for a few things and a friend and I decided. That we would get our nails done. When I sat down and the worker started doing my nails he was using his one long thumb nail to take the acrylic off my cuticles and skin around my nail. Not only was there dirt under his nail, it hurt so bad! I asked for stiletto nails but they gave me almond. AND Before I even left the salon the paint on mt nails was all messed up. Would not recommend this place unless there is absolutely no where else. Came in for a full set of acrylics and after I got the tips placed on I was moved to a different technician for the remainder of the appointment. I asked for a straight and square medium length nail. First, the application of the acrylic was not right. It took far longer than it should, sloppy, and uneven. But the uneveness could mostly be filed away so I was not too concerned. While filing the technician rounded out the edges of the nails giving it a squoval appearance which I did not ask for, nor did he ask for clarification. I couldnt get a great view from all angles while he was working cause I didn't want to mess him up meaning I didn't realize how uneven and crooked he shaped my nails till the end. My middle finger nail on one hand is about 1/2cm. shorter than the other one and it is noticeably crooked. There is no consistency in length between my fingers on either hand. The gel polish application was also sloppy and poorly done. I used to do my own acrylic nails at home and have gotten them done countless times at very good reputable salons, I have a decent understanding of what proper technique is and how the final product should look. Once I got home I tried to reshape them to the straight square shape I wanted at first. The photo in the car was my left hand before I filed them and the flash photo is my right hand after I filed. The staff were not rude nor were they overly hospitable or friendly. I have no complaints about their customer service I just genuinely think they suck at acrylic. I understand techs need to learn and practice, but not on paying customers with certain expecation. I had gotten acrylics there once before a few months prior with a different tech and even then they were very flawed. The prices are cheaper compared to other places but you pay for what you get. No way a $33 full set of acrylics is gonna come out exactly how you asked with little to no flaws. Appreciate the effort but will not return. read more

I just had my nails done at Holly Nails today. While my nails appear to be done ok, I have three major complaints. First, I paid for a spa pedicure with a 15 minute massage -- over 5 minutes were spent gathering materials for the massage, and at no point was this corrected. Everything felt rushed, despite the fact that I was spending a considerable amount of money. Second, I mentioned Yelp and that I was a student at the end when I paid, showing ID, and was told I would only received $5 off. According to Yelp, I should have received a $20 discount. Third, the filing of my nails was less than adequate -- I pointed it out to the person doing my nails, who wouldn't fix it. As a first time customer, I feel like this was not the experience I anticipated having, and suspect that I will not be returning. read more

Besides being in a convenient location for me, it was easy to make an appointment online and they were ready for me when I got there. I had a gel manicure and they had a ton of colors and did a good removal of my old gel. My only complaint is that I asked for a matte top coat and they put a regular one on. I let it pass because I was exhausted. That isn't enough to keep me from not coming back and I think this is a solid, reasonably priced option in Syracuse. read more

After the second visit I will definitely recommend this shop! Im very disappointed. I'm from out of town but come in often to visit family. I don't always have time to get my nails done prior to coming to town and this spot is super convenient. I sent a message through yelp which I didn't hear back from them until right before I was hoping to come in so I called and they made me an appointment. When I got there the shop looked very nice- new and clean. The lady that was doing my nails really didn't speak English at all. She did ask if I wanted square or rounded after I told her I wanted them cut short. She did cut them and filed them "square" however, the nails really had no shape but they were more jagged and ultimately uncomfortable. I was getting a gel mani and when she was done the polish was lumpy which I'm surprised about- I've never had lumpy gel polish. The mani was pretty affordable so I could manage, however, here I am, less than a week later and the polish is chipping. Like I said, I'm VERY disappointed. read more

This salon has changed ownership & employees on several occasions over the past 3 years. I am disappointed and dissatisfied with the current ownership/ manner in which this salon operates. For starters, I opted for the paraffin pedicure. The woman doing my feet miraculously forgets to put on the paraffin! She apologized and I decided to let it go. Now on to SNS nails. I opted for an almond shape, which I always get! All of a sudden, the manager informs me that I needed to pay an additional $5 for an almond shape. Not only have I never paid an additional fee but this sign located in their salon says nothing about an additional fee for an almond shape! When I pointed out this discrepancy to the manager, he responded rudely. Mia, who no longer works at this salon, was always polite and respectful & did a great job. Chloe who did my nails on this occasion was good too. Shoutout to those women!! But after this recent experience with the manager (plus the fact that my fave Mia is gone) I will not be returning. read more

I have been going to this salon for about a month now. I am on my 5th SNS manicure, which I LOVE! It is so much better than the gel manicure. There is no chipping or lifting with this type of manicure, which is awesome. I can usually go about 3 weeks before needing another. Everyone at this salon does a fantastic job and they try their best to keep everyone happy. Because it is so close to SU, they can be super busy during school, but they do take appointments.
