Okay, okay, okay... I think I finally found my nail home in Syracuse -- hooray, hooray! My mom has been going to the same woman for her nails for as long as I can remember, but recently I noticed her nails looked too good, like noticeably different. I just knew it wasn't her usual tech. When I asked who did them, she handed me a card from Syracuse Nail and Spa. Funny enough, I think this is the same spot one of my coworkers recommended a while ago too. So I decided to give them a call, and they said they weren't busy and could take me right away. When I arrived, that was exactly the case -- I was seated and serviced immediately. I went with the green tea pedicure, which they told me was one of their best options. And let me just say -- it was so relaxing. They let my feet actually soak (which is rare nowadays), and I got to enjoy my book while the massage chair worked its magic. The pedicure included a foot massage, hot towel treatment, and a hot stone massage, which felt amazing. Everything was done with care and attention to detail. The same person also did my nails. I got a fill with my usual bubble bath pink color -- nothing too fancy, but I like to keep it simple. He took about 45 minutes on both my feet and hands, and I loved that he was both fast and efficient. I wear my nails in a round shape, and he did an excellent job with the shaping, which a lot of people struggle with. To top it all off, he gave me a back massage while I was drying (Under the UV dryer) and even gave me a hand massage with a hot towel after my manicure. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful -- very chill and relaxing. I went on a Thursday afternoon around 2:30 PM, and it wasn't crowded at all. Quick and efficient. I came in to get dip nail polish taken off my nails. They wanted $15 to do that, which I think is pretty steep, but I didn't feel like driving or calling around for the best price. This was more of a convenience close by. I put a 20% tip on the card and the lady at the front desk immediately turns to my nail tech and starts talking in their language. I wasn't going to write a review, but it's a month later and I still can't stop thinking about this. I went in for a pedicure & dip nail. They simply soaked and painted my toes.. nothing else. They looked and FELT exactly the same. As for the dip.. i guess i should have listened when they tried to sway me to gel. I'm from out of town & I've been doing dip for a year + & NEVER seen one this bad. To start, it's not SNS or OPI brand, it's an off brand name. They don't have many colors (fine) but they straight up gave me the wrong color. I had to go home and repaint them. The dip didn't go anywhere near to the edges of my nails, the shape had a weird dagger point. Now, i struggled picking a place because none of the salons in the area had good reviews but i was desperate, i blindly picked one. please just go anywhere else. I have been seeing Jessie every few weeks for the past year or so for dip manicures and she is an absolute godsend! You often hear about dip not being great for your natural nails with all of the drilling and filing but Jessie handles it with such an easygoing care that my natural nails stay long and strong. I travel back and forth from Syracuse to multiple other cities (pre-covid) and when I can't get in to see Jessie I am so nervous to find a new salon, but my dip has lasted up to one whole month when I've needed it to! Everyone at the salon is super friendly and personable, it is a beautiful and spacious place, and they have handled Covid regulations very well. I want this review to be insightful for the staff and not just to trash the place. I went in today to get my powder dip nails buzzed off. I got them done here and she had made them really puffy, despite asking her to flatten them down. Regardless, the woman who took me in today sat me down and exclaimed that my nails looked so ugly! and then asked where i got them done. Now my nails were not ugly just not perfect, so that was an insult in itself. I said I got them done here, and she kind of quieted down for a second and then proceeded to laugh obnoxiously and continue to say they were ugly. Then she disappeared and I was sitting with my nails in the tin foil to soak for what seemed like forever. Then another older lady finally came by to finish up taking off the nails and she filed them down so much that my nails are weak and splintering and so, so thin. She also tried to buzz one down and hurt my finger that I yelped, and she didn't apologize. I know nails are never perfect after having them done but its obvious she filed them excessively. I am mostly; however, dissatisfied with their customer service and I am wary to return. I hope they realize how much of an effect their snide remarks have on customer satisfaction. read more

Wow I'm so disappointed in my visit I had a regular polish change on my toes and a dip manicure; after that.. I saw my balance receipt on the table that said 60 then I go to the register and the owner mentioned a new total of $80 so I was over charged for the regular polish without trim and there was no price menu on sight to prove her case. Watching how long my nails were drying and instructed her to say they were dry and to turn the dryer off without making sure they were dry. Maybe trying to save 5 cents on electricity. Very happy with the ANC dip manicure I received today! I called an hour ahead to schedule my appointment. When I first walked into the salon I was confused because there was no one at the front desk. However, Laura came right over and showed me where to pick out my nail color . I only had to wait a few minutes for the nail technician to finish with another client. Michelle did my manicure and was very friendly. She also waxed my boyfriend's brows and they came out looking very nice. The salon overall is very spacious and relaxing. Go to Annie!!! I love it here! I come every 2 weeks for a pedicure and gel manicure. I prefer the IBD (maybe IDG) gel colors and find that they last longer and look nice for a full two weeks. I would recommend calling ahead, even if it's the same day, and making an appointment if you are not interested in waiting. They tend to be really busy right after 5pm and I find the best time to go is right when they open. They have an ATM, snacks, TV lounge area, and drinks. If you bring your kids or anyone with you who isn't getting something done, there is space to wait on the couches. read more

I would never go here again. The manager decided to do my nails and refuse to do another lady nails and I feel as if it was because of her skin color. Her excuse was because she was answering the phone she couldn't finish her nails mind you she took her. but when she was doing my nails and was able to answer the phone and do my nails at the same time. I think the customer service was horrible. She also kept trying to get her to do the 70 dollar set saying that the tips can't be refilled and if you get your nails done you know tips can be refilled. Visiting Syracuse from California to drop my daughter off in college and after the move-in I really needed a mani/pedi. The concierge at my hotel suggested that we try Syracuse Nail and Spa and I'm so glad we did. Everyone was so nice and professional here. The spa is very spacious and they have an amazing selection of nail polish colors. The manager is wonderful and friendly. I got the Pomegranate Special. The nail salon was very clean they have lots of workers. There's a huge television in the back for people to watch other waiting. They do massages manicures pedicures waxes and much more. They are very friendly yet very quiet. The atmosphere is very relaxing in the price is just right specially if you're a college student you get 20% off each thing that you do there. I had a color change for my toes and I had a gel manicure done. They are very fast working in hard make sure to tip because they do a phenomenal job. With the two discounts applied to the color change in the gel manicure I came to a total of $36 not including a tip. I highly recommend this place. This place is on early Boulevard across from Geico. Is very close to LeMoyne college. I went to get my nails done at noon and it was very busy. In addition they give you a stamp card after you go there so many times you get one free. Their pedicures are nice but I won't be going back. I called to see what the price of a gel manicure set with extensions would be and was told $45. By the time they were done I was told that I was "confused" and it was $60. I checked that statement since the worker misspoke (I wasn't confused) but regardless- I paid $70 for an added tip although it didn't feel deserved. When the gel was applied my nail beds burned under the UV light but when I asked if this was normal for my first time I was ignored. Fast forward - DO YOU SEE MY NAILS 4 DAYS LATER?! I have never in my life had my nails look like this and literally fall off after 4 days. The nail tech barely trimmed my cuticles as well these look horrible!! And FYI: I have been quarantined until my flight tomorrow so no, I haven't been using my hands in rough ways! Very disappointed to the point where I don't even want to return to get them taken off. I always go there for pedicures! The older women have impeccable customer service and are very sweet so I stay loyal but this was the last straw with my fingernails. AWFUL! I was in dire need of a manicure and I figured I would try this spot instead of going to Cosmopolitan Nails. I went in and was impressed with the layout and decent decor. I was seated immediately. My nails were naturally long and I had the dip powder that needed to be removed. I couldn't decide what I wanted and I was toying back and forth with another dip or gel. I picked a color form the sample and when the powder was brought over it didn't look like the color I picked. After a conversation with one of the female employees she shared the sample was "discolored" and it faded. No problem. I picked another color and the same thing happened. I started thinking it was best to get the gel instead of the dipping powder. I asked about the gel colors and that was when I was informed that I would be charged $5 to remove my previous dip manicure if I went to the gel. I didn't think that was cool but I figured I already started the process so I would just go ahead and pay the $5. I sat in frustration of being charged $5 and decided I would just get a regular manicure. That's when I was informed the price to remove my dip manicure has now gone from $5 to $10! I was completely disgusted and took the cotton and foil off of my nails and proceeded to hand them my credit card to pay the $10 so I could get out of there. Rating one star because I have to. I booked an appointment today as a first-time client and was told to come in at a certain time. I came in and sat in a chair waiting for thirty minutes for my nail technician, Danny, to come over and begin my services. I had my money by my keys for tip and he grabbed his tip and put it in his pocket before even starting my service without asking if it was for him. During my service he was RUDE!!! I asked him to shape my nails in a coffin shape and he started huffing and puffing and rolling his eyes. I made an appointment for an acrylic fill in and color gel and Danny proceeded to start putting crazy glue ON MY OWN NAILS (not tips) and started filing away like crazy. He kept hitting my hands with the file and cut them and did not even apply acrylic. He did not once say I'm sorry. He started painting my nails with the color gel and it was EXTREMELY streaky. I asked him to put another coat of gel to fix the color and he huffed and puffed again. Afterwards, I paid and left because I did not want to speak out and be attacked with his attitude. After looking at my nails in the car, they are ALL BUMPY AND STREAKY. He did not pay attention to anything I asked him to correct. I will never be coming back and will never recommend anyone here. Laura and Cindy are soo welcoming and accommodating!!! Not only did Cindy do a fantastic job on my full in, but they were both patient in explaining the different techniques of "gel nails" to me. I received a full set gel nail in another state, and the technique was different then what this salon offered. However, the UV Gel nail fill in ( and replacement=full sculpture of 2 nails) I received here was pure artistry! No lie, Cindy is wonderful. I also pulled up a basic jewel design on Pinterest and she happily did it, while making the suggestion that I leave the accent nail shiny, because past customers complained of it not looking quite right. Horrible! I had a gel manicure, That lasted less than 7 days, the tips were messed up. When I went to the place to have them fix, they said to sit down and they will fix it. I sat down and when they were half way removing the gel, they said it is 5 dollars for the removal and 35$ for the new coat. When I asked politely why and they said they don't fix anything for free, even if it is their mistake. So they won't fix the nails they messed up as soon as you walked out through their door. Very elegant looking place, everything looked clean,but they did reuse the tools from one customer to the other which is NOT sanitary, so they definitely need to fix that. My nail tech was Annie. She was good but cut my cuticles too close to the root. Everyone was professional. Just wish they did more leg massaging during the pedicure. I was very pleased with my visit. I splurged and got the Lavender and Sugar Spa Pedicure which also includes for free a manicure and callous removal. I highly recommend getting your nails done by Jack. He does an awesome job also with the leg, foot, arm and hand massage that is part of the package. The spa is very clean with brand new equipment. The massage chairs are great and it's fun checking out all the different possible massage settings. The staff is very nice. The owner walks around making sure everybody is comfortable and offers coffee and tea. Parking was very easy right in front of the salon. I was impressed by how large and clean this salon is, not to mention the clearly listed prices of each nail service, and the fact that they offer student discounts. Seems like they may need to hire more staff though. While a man did set up the pedicure chairs and got my fiancé settled in, by the time the pedicure began the water my feet were in was nearly cold. The pedicure itself was pretty standard, as was the manicure. The whole massage thing was unnecessary. I went in for acrylic nails with color on top. I had a horrible experience at Unicorn Nails ($50 for nails that lasted less than a week). When I went here, they did them the same way - the dip method. I'm not used to this, I like my acrylics the usual way done. But I have to say, so far I like them. This place uses the color acrylic, not polish. So your color won't chip. So unless your nails break off or crack off in an area, your color will stay intact. So perfect looking nails for longer! The downside is if you want a new color, you need to get them removed and a new color reapplied (so more costly), but since they should last longer it works out in the end. We will see how they do. I like the look of them. The dip method doesn't tend to be as thick, so to me not as durable but these ones seem strong. I had Lio and he was a perfectionist and very nice. Sometimes it's really busy so I try to come on weekdays. There are a lot of chairs and employees though so it's usually fine. I've only ever had a gel manicure done here but I've done it a couple of times. The first one was done perfectly and lasted for 3 weeks with no signs of wear. The second one was done by a different nail tech and was clearly not nearly as well done, but still better than most places I've been.
