I was a walk in yesterday. I waited an hour. No problem. The attendant that was assigned to do my nails was friendly at first, smiling while escorting me to my seat. It was clear that she didn't speak English, but I've encountered non English speaking nail techs before. No problem. Throughout the service, she seemed interested in knowing if everything was alright, and it was. What happened next, stunned me. I mentioned that the polish was too thick on both of my great toes. Before I could finish my sentence, she said "it's your toe, your nail have hump". Nope. No hump. Never hump. The manager came over, examined the nails, saw the problem, and took over. By now it's past closing time and everyone was like getting ready to leave the building. My tech rushed through the job and the fingers turned out horribly. I'm so disappointed in the service and the customer service as well! I won't even consider going back there for a fix. I can only suggest that unless you're desperate, find another salon!! read more

I have been going there for YEARS for my pedicure. They are one of the very few places that do a paraffin wax on the feet. Over the past year, noticed a little of new tech's. Well the last time I went it was like the tech was afraid to any sort of pressure on my feet. I told her I had a bit of an ingrown toenail and she never got it. I finally just said ok. Well as I was leaving the mall, I ran into Kathy one of the nail techs that used to work there. She had been there for years and she always did a wonderful job. Well I found out the original owner sold the store and a lot of the techs left because they didn't agree with the new owners. I go to Kathy now at BV Nails. Let me start by saying I'm a nail tech, so this is mind blowing. I'd normally do them myself, but I had to come to Syracuse for a funeral and back to FL in time for my event and wasn't going to have time. I normally don't get extensions but my nails were a mess so I asked for a full set of gel so I could refill myself (and who TF knows what kind of bootleg powder and monomer they're using in there anyway). He does the whole prep, no prob. Nothing fancy, but getting the job done. Then pulls out powder, labeled GEL. I pull my hand back, excuse me, I'd like gel please. He motioned to the powder labeled gel, and says it's gel . I don't have time for this, but Syracuse is like a different country, so I go with it. Maybe I don't know everything. The acrylic set as normal, he proceeds to do every finger on that hand and then stuck my hand in the lamp (the nails were already hard). He was super sloppy with the acrylic too. The side walls of my nails are nasty and can't wait to get home and shape that up a bit. I wanted gold chrome, which they didn't have chrome. This is 2023. Amazon prime that ish. My three friends and I went to get our nails done yesterday. As we enter Nail Trix (they play tricks that's why that's their name), I see the signs outside of the establishment say $30 for full set. When I sit in the chair, she gives me the color palette. I choose a coral color and I told her earlier I want a full set. My nail technician, Tina, says, "Ok, $50." I said, "Why is it not $30?" She said, "The color and shape. It's only $30 if you get white and square." I said, "Okay, I won't get coral then. I will get white, but I like almond shape so I'll pay for that." She said, "No, it's still $50 for white." She was not making sense and I told her that. I was with my friends and she already started on my nails. It's awkward for me to keep saying "The price is supposed to be $30," so I stopped. However, I look over to my right and there is a price list. Look at image 1 for reference. So if a full set of $30 includes clear tip extension, acrylic powder, color polish...why am I being told it's $50? Is it an extra $20 for shape? Because everything that is in the $30 price is what I want. Then, she had the audacity to not make my nails look neat. They look crooked, paint is messy, the filing chipped the sides of the nail making the sides look ugly. This was the case for all my friends too. We all tipped our nail techs $10 to not be rude, but this nail salon just gained $240 for false advertisement and terrible nail jobs. Went in for a full set, coffin nails with gel polish and rhinestones. The lady who did my nails glued the skin on tips of my finger to the fake tip, and her solution was to let the glue dry and then pry my skin from the fake tip by shoving her thumb nail HARD into my finger and pulling them apart. Needless to say, she ripped my skin on at least 2 fingers. I had gotten 14 rhinestones which raised the price from 45 to 55$ The same night I got them done, all of the rhinestones on one hand popped off, and the next day the rest of them on the other hand did too. Terrible! There is a laundry list of things that were wrong with this, but there's the main ones mentioned below. She used non-sterile equipment on me, and my massage for my manicure didn't even last long enough to let the lotion set in. She didn't do anything but push my cuticles back; no trimming. She kept telling me to get a gel polish and made fun of my short nails and definitely tried to overcharge for French tips. Once dry, I noticed multiple flaws on half of the nails and had to basically force her to redo them. Even then she didn't do a base coat and kept telling me nothing was wrong with them. Also, everywhere else I go to get my nails done, they soak them in Acetone to remove the nail but this lady just ripped my old fill with a plastic tip. She cut open my finger and I started bleeding because of their unusual way of ripping your old fill off. One of the ladies that took me in and did my nails was so condescending and tried scamming a 16 year old girl who was in with her friends to get her nails done. The price for a full set not gel was 25$ and the lady kept asking me how much money I had with me and I told her I only had 35$ because she kept trying to up the price for no reason and I kept telling her I just want the 25$ full set and she kept saying it will be 35 and was trying to force me into getting all this extra stuff and I kept saying no and she would stop till I told her firmly no. She asked me multiple times about how much money I had and she kept telling me to ask my friends for money to give her and I was so uncomfortable and upset that she was being so disgusting and asking me for money after she was trying to scam me the whole time she was doing my nails. This was the worst experience I have ever had getting my nails done . It has been 2 years since I've had my nails done and today I finally decided to go out and treat myself. The nail tech asked what I wanted I said acrylic full set French stiletto style but not pointy . He says ok . He asks me do I want shiny , I say huh??? He says will make them shinny looks better only 40$ I say ok even tho I'm still not really sure what he means . I tell him I want the French to be done in a v not straight across he says ok and does not say anything about it costing more he also doesn't say anything about the shape I want being more expensive. He begins doing my nails . First I had to remind him I wanted v style French because he was about to give me white tips that I did not ask for , then I had to remind him again of the shape I wanted because he was cutting them into regular square tips . Now it's time to get polish on (remember at the beginning he asked if I wanted shinny , well still not seeing anything shiny) so he starts polish and has no clue how to do the v shape French tries to blame it on me why he can't do it saying I'm making him nervous and that's why he can't do it right , so after several failed attempts I now have to settle for getting the French straight across like I did not want at all , meanwhile he's trying to convince me to just get design on all my nails because he was having difficulty doing the regular straight across French as well . At this point I just want to get out of there because nothing has gone right not the shape of my nails not the style of French and not even the application of the polish ( jagged and cracked and all over my fingers and skin) So now he is finished the hack job of polishing my nails with regular polish and it's time to dry ( again I'm trying to figure out what the shiny was that I'm paying 40$ to have done versus the 25$ acrylic that I had asked for at the beginning) so I'm sitting there drying my nails and beyond disappointed at the whole experience and I see a price list menu I begin to look st it and the only thing I see in the acrylic section for 40$ is some permanent color thing which I do not have I only have regular polish on with regular clear tips . Awful, awful, awful. I don't even know how this place hasn't been shut down. First of all, the prices are sky high. They use acrylic powder and charge you for gel nails. The last time I went here, the guy literally made every single finger bleed, because he used the electric buffer on my cuticle and nail bed. They've been hit or miss for years - sometimes I have a good manicure, sometimes I don't. I honestly cringed when I went to sit at this man's table for a fill, because at my previous visit, I overheard him making fun of a five year old boy for getting a manicure while his mommy was getting one. Then when the lady didn't know what I tell her she started to soak my nails to remove them Instead of just filling them.
