By the time he got here I demanded an apology but he laughed and blamed the traffic. I told him how unprofessional he was and that I was going to file a complaint because of his lack of communication. He instantly got defensive and changed to an aggressive tone. He proceeded to verbally attack me and said, "Oh you want to file a complaint? Then I'll leave you right now." In hindsight, it felt less like concern and more like a way to protect themselves so they could later say I gave permission. As a client, I am not the expert, which is why I hired a professional. That approach came across as intimidation rather than guidance. When it became clear the project could not be completed, I was still charged the full price. When I raised my concern, the response was dismissive and delivered in a raised tone of voice. As a young woman alone in that situation, I felt intimidated and taken advantage of. They knew the job had not been completed successfully, yet I was still required to pay in full, which made the experience feel unfair and exploitative. Afterward, I learned the wiring issue could have been solved in a very simple way. Instead, I was left with unnecessary damage, had to clean up the entire mess by myself, and now face additional costs to repair what was left behind. Cleaning up on my own not only made the sting of the experience worse but also felt degrading. I am glad this company may work well for smaller, straightforward projects. However, if your request requires anything more complex, be cautious. Even if the work is not successful, you will still be charged in full. He provided an estimate plus he was available to come by on a Sunday night. He was able to get it open without damaging the lock. Then he looked at my standard issues lock and told me he would have to break it off without even giving any effort to not break it. He quotes me almost $200 which did not include a replacement lock and tells me that my rental office will just have to replace it when I call and tell them I was locked out. I did end up paying more, but it's because I was cheap and went to him with an Amazon fob. He tried for over 30 minutes to fix this fob... he said he had to help another customer and I also had to leave for a little, and he was willing to stay after business hours for me to come back and try again. He ended up determining it was the fob, so he switched out my fob with his fob, which he was able to easily program and it worked perfectly. So props to George. My Miata thanks you. I walked 10 minutes and found this key kiosk in the parking lot of Shoppers. The owner was able to copy my keys perfectly. This is also includes a particular DC mailbox key. I live in the Brookland/Pleasant Hills area by Catholic University. It was worthwhile to go to this key kiosk. I got what I needed. Finally! Their hours are Mon-Fri 11am-3pm. Sat & Sun closed. *Cash only They appear to do locks as well.
