Jay was our sales contact at American Windows and he was absolutely great. He has an engaging personality, and kept all his commitments to us. We appreciated that when installation day came, he swung by to ensure all was going well. Oh, how did the installation go? It was fantastic. Instead of just replacing the siding (which was at a very visible spot in our backyard), he decided to take siding from the side of the house that is covered and use that at the back of the back of the house. That way, the siding all matched in the back where people hang out. The new pieces (which were very close to the original pieces) were put up on the side behind bushes. I provided full documentation of the damage and a repair quote from FH Furr to the company on March 24, 2026. Since then, I have been given the runaround. After hearing nothing and sending a follow up email on April 13, 2026 I finally spoke with Project Manager John M. on April 15, 2026 who told me he would consult with their Regional Executive, Trey G., and get back to me. It has now been over a month since my initial claim and several weeks since my last conversation with John M. (I never heard back from him or Trey G.). Despite a follow-up email on April 25, 2026 stating my intent to escalate this, the company went dark on me. After receiving a formal demand letter from me they tried calling but when I texted and asked to receive communication in writing via email I did not hear back. A professional installation should account for standard line placement - "inadvertent" does not excuse negligence--especially since they have engaged in a month-long communication breakdown. He quickly assessed that it was done by squirrel(s) near the end of a soffit. Soon, a steel mesh was cut and fitted around the narrow gap to prevent any future attacks. He further covered a similar spot on the back site, so that there'll be no worries for me in this regard. Last year, I had a roof vent (not knowing which one) with water dripping down to the basement. After water tests, he figured out the right vent and placed an elbow on it...vent closed and problem solved. I've known Minh for more than 10 years now, and he had helped me in numerous occasions.
