I enjoyed doing my laundry here. They have so many different size machines and the prices per load are about average what you see at other places. The inside was clean and kept up. read more

I've been coming to Alameda Launderland with my family for years, but our experience with the evening attendant on September 18 was extremely upsetting. Around 9:30 PM, my dad needed additional change to finish drying our laundry. The attendant told him the change machine was turned off after 9:30. Although she eventually helped him, her tone was unnecessarily rude and condescending. Around 9:55 PM, I watched her assist another customer with change without displaying the same attitude toward him. Later, while I waited to retrieve clothes from a dryer, the attendant continued changing a trash bag directly in front of it without acknowledging me. She only moved after another customer spoke up. The biggest issue involved the laundry carts. Twice, she took a cart I was actively using, despite approximately eight or more other carts being available and nobody waiting for one. When I questioned why this was necessary, she cited a "new rule" from the owner and mentioned that the owner monitored the cameras. When I expressed that I felt singled out by how aggressively the rules were being enforced, she told us that if we were the "type of people" who thought we were above the rules, we should go somewhere else. That comment was particularly upsetting. We weren't asking for special treatment or exemptions from the rules. We simply expected to be treated respectfully. By the time we finished our laundry, I was physically shaking with anger and holding back tears. I've generally had positive experiences with the other attendants over the years, which made this incident especially disappointing. UPDATE -- October 2026 (3 stars): Following my review, the owner personally reached out, apologized, and confirmed that my concerns had been reviewed and addressed with the employee involved. Management also assured me that expectations regarding the cart policy would be clarified with staff. I've since returned and had a much better experience with another attendant, who was courteous and helpful. However, the employee involved in my original complaint wasn't working that day, so I cannot yet speak to whether her behavior has improved. I'm raising my rating from 1 to 3 stars to acknowledge management's responsiveness and efforts to address my concerns. My original experience still stands, but I also believe in giving credit where it's due. read more

Launderland - Alameda - Lady attendant crashedout on me for having cart before clothes done drying. It was past 930cutoff wash no one else needed and many carts fre - Laundry Services Near Me - Alameda, California

The Mecca of laundromats! Super clean. Attendant is consistently going around and cleaning. Lot's of machines to fit any need. In addition, they have an app, DexterPay, that makes it so easy to pay, set your settings, and monitor how much time's left. I love this! The parking lot's hit or miss, as far as availability, but there's also street parking. There's a 7-11 next store, which is also convenient. read more

Launderland - Alameda - Laundry Services Near Me - Alameda, California

This used to be my favorite laundromat, but not anymore. It has many good qualities but I have recently changed the pricing scheme for the dryers to be what I consider practically a scam. It used to be that a quarter would buy you several minutes, but they have changed the dryers to have a $1 minimum charge. What this means is that if your laundry is not quite dry after the first round of drying and you don't get to the dryer before the cycle ends, You are not able to put in a quarter to get a few extra minutes to get it dry. You are stuck with the $1 minimum charge. This is not just extremely annoying, It represents a pettiness on the part of the owner.... that they are trying to get 75 extra cents from a customer who only needs 25 cents more time. So, sadly, after many years of loyalty to this establishment I will be looking for a new laundromat. read more

I've been to this laundromat twice so far since moving back to alameda, and I like it! The machines are sooo efficient! 25 mins to wash and only 24 mins to get everything fully dry in the six loader machines - and we had a decent amount of clothes in the machines! All this would take literally hours in the washers/dryer at our apartment building. Pricing is not bad either - for the six loaders, washing is $7 and drying is 4 mins per quarter. The washer prices might sound steep, but I got two weeks' worth of laundry done for $8.50 total. Other pluses - I like that they have an app so we don't need to have coins handy. Just test and make sure the app recognizes the machine number before putting clothes in. I've noticed that sometimes the app doesn't recognize some of the machines even though they're functioning. The place is also pretty clean and the machines look pretty new. Minuses - They share a lot with 7-11 and it can be packed! The first time, I went on MLK day and it was so busy even midday on a Monday! The second time we went on Saturday night right before they closed and it was great! Lots of machines open. I do wish they had more seats and folding stations inside, though not a major issue for us since I like to fold at home anyways. read more

Best laundromat on the island! Easy to pay for washing and drying through the app. Machines are always being maintained and fixed on a consistent basis. Wouldn't go anywhere else! read more

I think what makes this the best laundromat in town are their employees. Everyone I've met here are so kind. Today I walked in and couldn't find a cart to roll my clothes in, so I decided to carry as much as I could. I didn't even make it halfway to the front, before this woman came to my rescue. She's so sweet! Not to mention, this place is clearly very well taken care of. read more

I have been washing here for almost a year, after what happened today I won't be coming back! This laundry is really clean workers maintain it well. Today one of the female worker that worked around 5 was very rude! I suspected she was since the beginning she gives off negative vibes. My mother was getting a cart when she grabbed her hard from the wrist and told her that she couldn't use it. That mid-aged woman does not have right to be grabbing her like that over some cart. read more

We live on a boat. While we have laundry on board, after we've had a lot of guests, turning over all of our staterooms' bedding goes much more quickly in industrial machines. Launderland is by far the cleanest, brightest, and most well maintained laundromat we've ever tried. There are so many things about this business that make it stand heads and shoulders above all others. While they're not open 24 hours, their hours are really extensive - 5am to 11pm. Even on Christmas Eve, they were open until 9pm. There are always machines available, and they are continually wiped down and checked by the on site staff. There's good music, great lighting, ample and folding tables, and they use the Dexter payment app which means no need for cash or dirty quarters. It allows for me to step away and run quick errands while monitoring time remaining on each load. The automatic sliding front doors and ample carts make bringing clothes in and out easier than any other laundry. When we find ourselves behind on loads of clothing, it's super convenient and reasonably priced to drop off laundry for wash and fold service. This is from someone who typically finds time in a laundromat akin to days in hell. read more

I really like coming here, it's calm, clean, finding parking is not that big of a deal either. I do like that it's coin operated or mobile pay via DexterPay app. The machines and dryers are well kemp. I once had an issue with both the washer and app. It was busy and all of the x4 washers were in use. At first I thought it was the app, it didn't charge me even thought the apple wallet says I've been charged. After a few tries and paid with coins on my third attempt, the machine took all of my coins. I asked one of the ladies to get a refund, the lady just walked away from me. I thought I just wasted $7, after couple minutes of pressing start button it finally worked. Definitely didn't like how that lady just walked off and didn't offer to resolve the issue. I'm just glad the machine finally worked? Every week I come here, one of the shop keeper is always smoking by the entrance door and the cigarette smell linger. Luckily my loads haven't been close enough to catch the smell on them. I just don't like inhaling people's lung smoke. It makes my stomach churn. Def would appreciate if they smoke far from the entrance door to be considerate. Overall it's an okay place. read more

The nicest and cleanest place in alameda for a laundromat! The location is awesome! Across from the library, and next door to 7-1-1! I have done both ways my own clothing, and linens. The dryers are hot!!! So know if you go on a weathered hot day, you willllll suffer! Hint: go to library while your clothes are in the machines! Wash and fold service is extremely professionally done!!! They put things on hangers, separate everything and fold in an old English way, which I LOVE!!! And very affordable! Recommend this place over any other!! read more

Everything seemed well kept but beware of people taking your cart. I had one during my wash and when I returned they removed my basket and left it on the floor. It happened again when I found one to empty the wash and put my items in the dryer. They removed my baskets and left it on the floor. They had a lot of available carts not sure why they kept taking mine. Overall great place clean and right next to the police department. read more

This is the new laundromat I'm going to. Highly recommend. - All the machines are new and functional - The app they use for payment is really easy to use (Dexter Pay) - They also accept quarters and have 2 dispensers - They have the floor clearly labeled for the sizes of machines they offer - Ive always seen an employee cleaning - They have a dispenser for laundry needs (detergent, fabric softer, etc) - The clothes I put in the wash come out pretty dry which is a plus because that means less time in the dryer - Prices are pretty decent for how much other laundry places charge - The only negative note is parking: Though they have a lot, it is shared with 7/11 and parking can be tough dependent on the time of day you go. read more

You have the choice of coin operated machines, or you can put money on a card and use those machines. For wash and dry. This is my first time here, and all the washing machines that take the card aren't working. They're working for for the dryer though. Im on the hunt for a laundromat that I can go to that I feel comfortable at, and is a good value. This place has the comfort factor, but the value isn't quite there for me. read more

Customers are dirty. They leave their trash and are inconsiderate. Homeless people hang around here most of the time! This should be a SMOKE-FREE zone! Clean facility. Machines were in good shape with a variety of sizes. Parking lot was crowded but it was large enough that I was able to get a space each time I went. If you need a laundromat, you MUST go to Launderland Alameda on Lincoln St. I had the most awesome experience there. I haven't needed a laundromat in a while and I was concerned about all the possible issues a laundromat has. This place was awesome! It was in a busy and safe location. It is large with a wide variety of machines and sizes. The driers are very inexpensive and really get the job done. The place is exceptionally clean thanks to a wonderful attendant named John. John provided the best customer service. He was polite, professional, helpful and responsive. Every machine that was touched, he was wiping and polishing as soon as it was vacated. He kept a watchful eye over every inch of the facility while being unassuming and staying out of the way. I was so impressed and I am not easily impressed. This will be my go-to spot when it's time to wash my bedding and comforters. Thanks John! read more

The people who aren't washing clothes that come in doing random stuff like emptying out the contents of the recycling bin and putting it into the dryer or taking clothes out of the dryer and outside that aren't theirs is getting annoying. I would give them 5 but 4 will do for now while they work on a few things. First, no wifi even though it's posted on the windows and around the laundromat. Second, there are a lot of broken washers and dryer's. But the new owner is working quickly to put in new washers & dryers throughout and is added lots of new editions. If I could give this place 5 stars, it would be because of Veronica. She really keeps the place clean and friendly. read more
