Stopped by for a quick bite at the branch right across the university campus, on a Monday night. It was not busy at all. It took no time to place the order at the counter and the food was on my table in no time. They have outdoor sitting at the front of the business and a shared patio with the The Mill and The Hub. Inside of the restaurant there is a couple of small tables and a big community table. The backyard is very pleasant: there are a few tables covered by colorful tarps. I was hungry for something light and healthy but I definitely needed a splash after a long day at work. I was so happy to find out that they serve wine and beer. I went for the wine. The selection is not wide but hey, better than nothing. I ordered the arugula and salmon salad: smoked salmon, pickled fennel, onion and potatoes, fresh tomatoes with a light but flavorful dressing, very Scandinavian like. We had summer salads. My friend is a vegan and I'm not. So I added chicken and avocado to mine. The summer salad was surprisingly delicious and filling. I say surprisingly because the portions are kinda small. My only complaint is that I requested avocado and assume they charged me extra- but they only put two small pieces of 1/2 an avocado on top. While passing through town I came in for a bollywood bowl and a paleo bowl. Both were very tasty, although spicy. I'm paleo by choice and gluten free as a must so I was happy to try this dish out. It was quite delicious however my husband and I both experienced extreme gas the next day, so I am not sure what happened or if there was a mild issue of gluten there, but that's not my normal reaction if I do accidentally get gluten in my system. First time we discovered this place it was some of the best food ever in the area. We are vegetarian, veganish, and loved all the plant based options. The second time, our expectations may have been too high, but we ordered quickly and were less impressed. Laughing Planet is just good. Everything about it: the menu variation, food quality, friendly employees, great work they do for the community/university, their jazz night jams. I also appreciate the lengths they've gone to during covid to ensure the safety of their customers and their employees. They make things as easy as possible while accommodating for all the madness going on. Food tastes just as great to go as it does when you eat there. Went there today 6/10/22 at 4:19pm and they have gone down hill. We used to enjoy them so much we had them cater our wedding. Now we will never go again. The woman at the counter who took my order was nice and friendly. No complaints there. When we sat down at our table it was super sticky and had red drink spilt on it. We moved to another table and it was sticky too with food dropped and dried on it. We used napkins as a placemat. When our food came the server was unsuccessfully trying to balance 4 plates when he could have just taken two trips. He spilt our salad dressing on the ground and never came back to clean it up. I had to hop over it to use the bathroom. When we started tossing our salad there was a huge, thick, long, dark, curly hair in it. I brought it to the counter and it was replaced, however, they should have automatically refunded us but didn't. The food that didn't have hair on it was tasty though. Unfortunately since you pay at the counter I tipped on advance, wish I could have taken it back. If you do go, bring cash and save your tip until the end when you leave. We no longer recommend this restaurant. read more
