Tuscan chicken sandwich with a side of Caesar salad

Elysia G.

Latitude 34 in Camarillo is a solid spot for good food, cocktails, and a little weekend brunch moment. Perfect stop when you're shopping at the Camarillo Premium Outlets. We started with the filet mignon bites, calamari, and Diablo Tartare (ahi tuna), followed by a cup of albondigas soup. For our main, we shared the Tuscan chicken sandwich with a side of Caesar salad. Of course, we had to try the margarita flight featuring blueberry, classic, spicy peach, and mango. The spicy peach and mango were my faves of the trio, perfectly balanced with a kick. We sat at the bar for brunch, and Angelique was amazing! Friendly, attentive, and made the experience that much better. They also have patio seating and brunch specials. Happy hour runs daily from 3 to 6 PM, except Tuesdays when the restaurant is closed. It's available exclusively at the bar or on the outdoor patio. Sounds like a good excuse to come back, right?

Surprinsingly good place. I wasn't expecting it on an outlet. Great wine and beer selection. Not too many, but all good stuff. They served a bread with olives surprisingly good. Our server explained it is produced locally. Higly recommend a visit.

We picked this place because it is dog friendly. The patio is pretty nice and is decently shaded. I got the sliders and my husband got a pasta dish. The sliders were a bit expensive at $17. The pasta dish was good but wasn't a stand out. Overall, it's a bit overpriced for what you get. Service was friendly.

Had a nice dinner this evening at Latitude 34. Demetrie was our amazing server assisted by Axel another efficient and professional individual. We started with bread and drinks. My wife selected the southern chicken sandwich and I had the brie chicken dish with veggies and potatoes. The food was good and the service was stellar. Highly recommended

I don't as a general rule do multiple reviews for the same restaurant especially after I have already given it 5 stars but am making an exception for Latitude 34 after my experience tonight. The food and atmosphere was great as always but I want to call out the staff. I had a reservation but when we arrived I asked for a booth. I saw that there was only one open booth and it might have been reserved but to our delight the two hostesses made it happen. I did not get there names but they were both exceptional. This brings me to our server Brian. He was outstanding. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We could tell he genuinely likes what he does. He knew the menu inside out and was able to answer all our questions and made many excellent recommendations. That's it. A big shout out to the owners, managers, hostesses, support staff and our amazing server Brian.

Lobster seafood pasta and Short rib with mashed potatoes and vegetables

Shawna C.

Had to try the lobster seafood pasta dish when a friend suggested we meet here while I was in town. It did not disappoint. Though, I was a little taken aback by the amount of fish in the dish, but the sauce and pasta were perfection. The shrimp, mussels and lobster were great as well. I wished the lobster was as large as it appeared in some of the previous reviews on Yelp. Shrinkflation in 2026 might've affected the size of the lobster tail, but not the taste. The house red wine was wonderful and smooth. There is happy hour on the patio and in the bar area only. Probably a good thing cause I would've spent more $$$ on drinks. My friend loved her short rib dish also. She's wasn't a fan of the steamed vegetables, but enjoyed the mashed potato side.

Chadie G.

Great service! Found the food portions giving in flavor and great to share. Crab cakes were my favorite. Loved the lentil soup! Calamari was a bit pale but seasoned enough. Ample seating for indoor or outdoor.

Full Burrata salad . Tuscan chicken and ceviche

This restaurant was amazing from being greeted at the door with a warm smile. We arrived at lunch time and it was packed. We were offered outside seating or bar, if we didn't want to wait 30 minutes. We sat at the bar and Veronica (I think that was the bartenders name) greeted us with menus and got our drinks out to us within a couple minutes. We went with Tuscan chicken salad. The chicken was cooked perfect and the chimichurri sauce was absolutely amazing. The flavors were so fresh. We also got the burrata salad ,beet salad and ceviche. Everything was fresh, and full of flavor. The chef has truly out did himself. This is the second time I've been this week. Monday I ordered lobster seafood pasta. Burrata salad and bistro burger. Wish they had these restaurants up in the Sacramento area. Great job chef.

Latitude 34 is located at the Camarillo Outlets. It faces across the lot from the Columbia Store & the Vans Outlet. You can make reservations on Open Table. They offer New American Cuisine, which includes California Fusion Menu Items. Ashley was our awesome server. She was pretty cool & funny. Ashley was definitely knowledgeable about the menu & recommended a few things to try. Came to try out their happy hour menu. Their happy hour is on the higher side, but I would still come back & try out more items on the menu... Drinks were on point. The Chef's Soup of the Day was Pozole. It was actually pretty good. It was a tad chilly on the patio. So a bowl of pozole was perfect. I will definitely come back to Latitude again & I'll bring some friends :)

Mother's Day Was Ruined. And I Need the Owner to Know. Let me tell you something. I've worked in five-diamond restaurants. I've worked Applebee's got the pin to prove it. Fried chicken spots. Everything in between. So when I tell you what happened here, know that I'm not some customer who doesn't understand how restaurants work. I know exactly how they work. My best friend lives in Camarillo and honey, he has been raving about this place for months. Every time someone comes to visit, he brings them here. He made our Mother's Day reservations well in advance. Our party of six. This man has easily dropped thousands of dollars in this restaurant. He loves this place. Loved. We arrived early. Server was ok. Seated us at 11, full house, two-hour window we understood the assignment. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Everything came out hot and fast. We're laughing, talking, having the best time and then I look down at my plate. There is a bug. Crawling. Through my eggs. My son grabbed his phone and got the picture. My husband God bless him, shot up to find a manager because that's what you do. That's what any reasonable person does. He found her. Her name is Cheryl. And Cheryl said... "You should've taken it up with the server." Strike one. Then she walks over to our table with an attitude and before I can even hand her my plate, she looks at me and says, "How do you want your eggs?" Like I'm supposed to take the same food back. The food with the bug in it. I was stunned. Not just by the question by the energy. It was off putting. She was annoyed. Like somehow WE were the problem. My kids were horrified. My best friend, the man who loves this restaurant was completely embarrassed. I asked to look at the menu. I wanted something different. Reasonable, right? We waited. The server came back, completely in the dark, said something like "I guess something was wrong with your food?" Sweet kid. Felt terrible when we filled him in. I said I'd just take a burger. He said of course they'd remove the chicken and waffles. THEN he came back. "We're going to have to charge you for the burger." WTH, I thought he had lost his entire mind. He disappeared again, came back, apologized I believe he genuinely felt bad. This has happened before when I have been a server and a manager is more than happy to offer you another dish and take off the other one. But Cheryl? The manager? Never came back. NOT once. Instead, she made her rounds to every single table AROUND us. Laughing. Greeting people. Interacting with guests. For 15 to 20 minutes, we sat there and watched her deliberately avoid our table. And that's when it hit me the thing I didn't want to think. I looked around. Really looked around. And we were the only ones. WELL, I was the only one who was African American woman. Me and my kids. My bestie and my hubby are of European descent. I don't SAY that lightly. Honestly? It makes me sick to even say it. But I couldn't find another explanation. Neither could my friend, who sat straight up in his chair and saw it too up close and personal. He was angry. I had to calm everyone down and say this wasn't worth it. I canceled the burger. We left. It was the worst Mother's Day I have ever had in my life. I have never been treated like this before. It's 2026. People have diverse families. What happened?! To the owner -- I'm hoping you're not her, and I'm hoping you read this. Your friend lost a loyal customer who brought everyone he knew through your doors. You lost our table, our money, and our trust the moment Cheryl decided we didn't matter. The moment she decided that she couldn't be bothered. I travel all around the world speaking, training and I have never been treated to poorly. I called hoping to speak to the OWNER. Cheryl called me back. Are you for real? She HAD a chance to make it right. But clearly she didn't care. She had every opportunity to make it right. She chose not to.

Really enjoyed this restaurant and it was a very last minute add during Mother's Day. Plenty of parking and was able to take advantage of the Tesla charging which is walking distance. The outdoor seating was perfect and really grateful of the host to fitting us in first thing in the morning since we came there at a spur of the moment. The food and the service were over the top! I had the breakfast burrito with tater tots, dad had the rib eye steak with fries, and mom had the lobster crab eggs Benedict's with mixed potatoes. All came up really quick for us to eat. And by far super amazing! Our waiter was on top of things and made sure we had our hot waters and soda topped off with many guests rolling in for Mother's Day! Love the outdoor seating and just seeing all the Mother's and grandmothers coming together to celebrate with the family. Mom really enjoyed the food and it was just a nice touch to start off the day on our drive back to OC. Oh the beignets and bread pudding. Omg super delicious. The owners and waiter checked up on us since we were eating so quickly but it just shows how delicious the food was that we cleared the plates up! Thanks again and love the aroma and food

While shopping at the Camarillo Outlet I discovered this cute restaurant. Since we were hungry we decided to try it. I ordered an appetizer of filet mignon bites and, for dinner, a roasted chicken dinner with mashed potatoes and a Caesar salad. Service by Theresa was impeccable. She made sure our first visit was amazing the first time. She was informative, honest, kind, funny and personable. She made great recommendations. My chicken was tender, hot, and juicy. The flavor was good and had a little crisp on the chicken. I want to go back soon and try the happy hour and brunch. Note the atmosphere was nice-and they had a nice sized bar with televisions to watch games. Ample parking in front of restaurant.

Beyond fantastic!! Just had a Christmas lunch arrangements coordinated with Jamie, Mgr., were so everything we wanted. She and Lattitude 34 met All our requirements to have a festive friends' lunch. The food was excellent by everyone's standards but the service was way beyond very special with one waitress, Theresa, serving 13 women all with different drinks and lunch requests. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here twice now and we were very impressed with the experience and our meals. The lobster bisque and filet medallion appetizer was exceptional, but I was really impressed with the bistro burger...all I can say is you will crave it weeks after having one. The service and atmosphere is fantastic, they have a lovely outdoor seating section, a large bar and a small sectioned off area to the left if you wanted more privacy. Went for dinner here last Saturday night. 'Twas excellent. Service: Very Good. From the hostess who seated us to the waitress who served us, the staff was warm and attentive. Just the right amount of checking on us to make sure all was good. And it was. Ambiance: Perfect for the location and cuisine. The website said the dress was 'Elegant Casual.' Not sure what that means but assumed it meant jeans and a polo were good, as long as the jeans weren't ratty. The quality of the service and food suggests it could be a "dress up" restaurant. But they've intentionally made it so someone feels comfortable if they came in not knowing it's a 'nice' restaurant. Let's just say it's about a perfect pitch for SoCal steakhouse. Food: Superior. Calamari for appetizer. Wife had a caesar salad and salmon. I had the Bistro burger and fries. I like to evaluate a restaurant by how they do a burger. I figure if their attitude is, "Oh, this is a burger customer. Don't care about this one." Then the rest of the menu won't have the care it needs. A burger is about as simple as one can get. So let's see aht they do with it. This oine is outstanding. What was best was the meat. Was delicious. Many restaurants use low-grade ground beef and mask tit with sauces and cheese and bacon, etc. Not Latitude 34. The meat was premium and the taste was exquisite. The fries were perfection. read more

The food is amazing here, the service is incredibly hit-or-miss. The first time we came here about a year or so ago the hostesses were incredibly rude, but we figured we'd give it another chance, and have been here 3 or 4 times since and had great experiences. Fast forward to today, we came for happy hour and were seated on the patio, waited 20 minutes and no server acknowledged us, while serving everyone around us, including tables seated after us, and so we got up, let the hostess know we were leaving (who very fakely said "oh sorry about that") and left. Such a bummer because I really like the food here and I was hoping that first bad experience was a fluke, but fool me twice, shame on me I guess. read more

After reading good reviews, I finally went for dinner to check it out myself. You can make reservations online but it wasn't busy for a Wednesday night. We tried the margarita flight and a lychee martini. Both were excellent. We asked the waitress what she recommended for appetizers, we had the filet mignon bites cooked medium and they were amazing! So tender and full of flavor. We tried the wedge salad which was served very cold just how it should be and was perfect with the right amount of gorgonzola and blue cheese dressing, it was not overpowering. For the main dishes we had the the sea scallops and the short ribs...paired with a risotto!!! Amazing! The scallops were cooked just right, the short rib was flavorful and so tender! For dessert, we had the bread pudding...which was also perfect! Just the right amount of ice cream and fresh berries to go with it. We can't wait to try other items! The only thing was the inside lacked decor...it was very plain. The bar is nicely lit. If there is more color and decor, I think it will give it a better ambiance and vibe...but the food and service made up for it. In the moment too busy savoring the dishes so no pics except what I posted lol read more

Everything about this place is amazing! From the service to the food, to the ambiance, Latitude 34 does not miss. I came with a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their food. I got the brie chicken as my entree and it was probably one of the best things I have ever tasted. Our table also got the butter cake, peach crostata, and godiva chocolate cheesecake to share. Everyone working there was also incredibly kind and attentive. This is a place I will definitely be returning to! read more

Walked in and was not greeted by hostess. She was busy using her cell phone. I asked loudly if I could sit anywhere and she said yes. The inside was empty and as I sat there for over 15 mins many servers walked by me but not one acknowledged me and of course didn't ask if I needed anything. My friend showed up and we asked about happy hour and were told to sit outside if we wanted the happy hour menu. It was freezing cold but I suppose if they are serving you discounted food and drinks they don't expect you to stay comfortable by any means. As we moved outside and froze while waiting for just water, we decided this place definitely is not worth a 2nd visit. We hadn't even tasted the food yet, however the bad service already left a bad taste in our mouths. Overall it was still overpriced, not tasty and definitely not worth sitting out in the cold for. I don't recommend happy hour. read more

My wife and I waltzed into this charming eatery on a splendid day, feeling like we were the stars of a romantic comedy. The staff greeted us with smiles as wide as the Grand Canyon and whisked us to our seats faster than a sprinter at the Olympics. The place was as bright and shiny as a polished gem. We started our culinary adventure with two appetizers: the Shrimp Mofongo and the Truffle Arancini. Let me tell you, anything with plantain is an automatic win in my book, and that Shrimp Mofongo was so good that I almost unintentionally challenged my wife to a slap across the table. The Truffle Arancini, on the other hand, had us contemplating the mysteries of the universe with each heavenly bite. Moving on to the main event, I opted for the Pasta Alla Norma, which was decent but could have been elevated to greatness with a sprinkle of parmesan cheese. I mean, who wouldn't want to be offered a cheese shower, right? Meanwhile, my wife danced with delight over her Atlantic Salmon, so much so that she squirreled away the leftovers for her work lunch the next day. But hold your horses, folks, because the pièce de résistance was yet to come. We embarked on a sugar-laden adventure with the White Chocolate Bread Pudding. I swear, adding condensed milk to anything could turn a rock into a gourmet dessert. Despite being as full as a Thanksgiving turkey, we devoured that dessert like we were two ravenous lion cubs pouncing on a juicy meal. In short, this place not only won our hearts but also our taste buds. It's the kind of joint where you'll leave with a smile so big it could rival the Cheshire Cat's. read more

Ever since my husband developed a medical condition, we've had to exclusively dine at restaurants with outdoor seating, which has limited our options. We were pleasantly surprised to discover Latitude 34, a hidden gem tucked away in an outlet shopping area. Upon entering, we informed them that we needed an outdoor table. Katie promptly led us and served us all the way to a great end. As it was our first visit and we had read online reviews beforehand, we had certain expectations. Katie patiently answered our questions and even offered us delicious French bread and olive bread while we waited for our food. We ordered the short rib enchilada and the Polenta lasagna. Although the lasagna was listed as an appetizer, the generous portion left me feeling fully satisfied. Not only did our dishes look appetizing, but they also tasted exquisite. Katie shared with us that the owner is a great chef who had previously worked at another restaurant in Camarillo before deciding to open his own establishment one year ago. I've always believed that chef-owned restaurants offer a unique dining experience, and this visit reaffirmed my belief. The service was superb. A very friendly and professionally skilled young man delivered our food. Throughout the meal, both Katie and the manager checked on us multiple times, which truly enhanced our dining experience. We are definitely planning to return to Latitude 34 to explore the entire menu. It's safe to say we're looking forward to experiencing more of their culinary delights on our next visit. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Latitude 34, and I must say, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience from start to finish. First and foremost, the service was exceptional. The staff was attentive and genuinely cared about making sure our food was prepared exactly to our liking. It's refreshing to see a team that takes pride in their work and is dedicated to providing customers with a personalized experience. The highlight, of course, was the food. Each dish was made to order and it was evident that great care went into its preparation. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. It's clear that the kitchen takes its craft seriously, and I appreciated the attention to detail in every bite. The ambiance of the restaurant also contributed to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The space was clean, well-maintained, and had a warm, inviting atmosphere. Plus, it wasn't too noisy, allowing for comfortable conversation without having to raise our voices. It struck the perfect balance, making it an ideal spot for both casual dining and special occasions. I left Latitude feeling satisfied and excited to return. I wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone looking for a clean, welcoming environment with delicious food made to order. My wife and I recently dined at Latitude 34 on a Saturday night. We opted to sit at the bar, which meant no wait for seating, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our meal. The ambiance at Latitude 34 struck the perfect balance between upscale and casual. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating options. The highlight of the bar experience was watching the bartender prepare my smoked old fashioned. The smoky aroma filled the air as they smoked my drink right in front of us and the people sitting next to us were even staring in awe! My wife tried the paloma and lychee martini, and she loved them both. We started our meal with the calamari, which was nicely crispy and full of flavor. For the main course, I ordered the brie chicken, and it did not disappoint. The chicken was perfectly crispy, and the gnocchi was a delicious accompaniment. The flavors were well-balanced, and every bite was a delight. My wife had the scallops and shrimp with risotto, which was served in a delicious lemon butter sauce. We would highly recommend Latitude 34 for a casual night out or a special occasion. The ambiance, friendly staff, and delicious food and drinks make it a top-notch dining experience. We will definitely be returning to Latitude 34 for another memorable meal! read more

My wife surprised me with a lunch/dinner at this restaurant, and I was thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. It came to my attention that the head chef had previously worked at Twenty-Eighty Eight, which was one of my favorites. This led me to have high expectations, and I can confidently say that the chef's skills did not disappoint. During our visit, the restaurant was fairly empty since we arrived during a late afternoon hour. Our server was professional and provided excellent recommendations that turned out to be exceptional. I started with the lobster bisque, as I had tasted a poor version at a Costco sampling earlier that day. Unfortunately, the bisque did not meet my expectations, as it lacked flavor and tasted more like a cornstarch soup than lobster bisque. However, the rest of our meal was superb. The short-rib birria tacos were a standout and tasted amazing. Additionally, the Cubano sandwich was incredibly delicious, even though it wasn't authentic. Overall, the meal was exceptional, and I'm delighted that we discovered this restaurant. We now have another go-to spot in Cam for a delicious lunch or dinner. read more

I recently visited Latitude 34, a restaurant located near the shopping outlets in Camarillo. From the outside, it didn't appear to be anything special, but on the inside, it was a chic open space that created a great ambiance. The highlight of the experience was our server, Jazzie. There was a lot of options on their menu (from chicken to steak bites to fish and salads), making it difficult for me to choose what I wanted to order. However, Jazzie took the time to walk us through the dishes and was honest if something wasn't necessarily her favorite. She really sold me on the tender short rib with seasonal veggies and risotto. Typically, restaurants serve short rib with potatoes, but the risotto complemented the dish perfectly. My friend ordered the burrata and lobster bisque, and she couldn't stop raving about how delicious the bisque was. In fact, I was tempted to order some to go! Overall, the food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. I highly recommend Latitude 34 to anyone looking for a great meal and excellent service. read more

We went to Latitude 34 to celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary, and it was such a wonderful experience from start to finish. We decided to sit at the bar, and the bartender was incredibly attentive and welcoming throughout the entire evening. From the drinks to the appetizer and main course, everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were amazing, the portions were generous, and the ambiance of the restaurant created the perfect atmosphere for a special night out. We were so full by the end of dinner that we decided to skip dessert, but earlier in the evening we had mentioned to the bartender that we were celebrating our anniversary. To our surprise, another server came out with a complimentary ice cream dessert and wished us a happy anniversary. It was such a thoughtful touch that made us feel truly special. Latitude 34 is that classy neighborhood spot that's somehow fancy and familiar, like the restaurant version of your friend who shows up overdressed to a barbecue but brings the best side dish. The food? Absolutely on point. The kind of steak that doesn't need a sauce but gets one anyway just to show off. The drinks? Smooth, balanced, and probably responsible for at least three questionable text messages a night. Now... let's talk about the aroma situation. When you walk in, it's giving strong "someone just went to war with a mop bucket" vibes. That unmistakable Fabuloso wave hits your nostrils like a welcome slap... clean, floral, slightly confusing, but somehow comforting. You're sitting there eating ahi tuna while your brain's like, "Is this dinner or deep-clean Saturday?" But weirdly... it works. It's part of the charm. 5 stars. Great food, strong drinks, and the freshest-smelling dining room in Ventura County. read more

My husband and I went here for an evening out last week with a few friends. We each enjoyed a cocktail at Happy Hour at the main bar. I had a glass of pinot Grigio and he had a scotch. Our bartenders were attentive without poaching us. As we joined our companions for dinner, the acoustics in the building are definitely uncomplimentary to the rest of the dining experience, but the food more than made up for it as we yelled over each other. I ordered the seasonal salad (very delicious and not too heavy) along with the coconut shrimp. It was perfect. My husband ordered the Rib-eye, medium rare, with the scalloped potatoes and asparagus. He enjoyed his meal as well, and took home quite a portion. We will be back at a quieter time, and may sit outside. read more

What a wonderful restaurant! Located in the heart of Camarillo, this restaurant offers an incredible dining experience with impeccable service, amazing food, and a warm lively ambiance. Each dish is bursting with flavor and the beignets are a must! Upon being seated and having our wine opened, we immediately encountered a significant issue with fruit flies swarming our area. Despite our complaint and subsequent relocation to another section of the restaurant, the fruit flies persisted, even landing in our food and beverages. I never knew that this place existed until I got an invite to attend an Elite Yelp event today…read more This place is soooo beautiful! The food and drink they served today were all so delicious with beautiful presentation. My favorite was the filet mignon as It was so tender. My favorite dessert was the apple pie with vanilla ice cream. All the staff especially the bartenders were super friendly and helpful. There are lots of seatings inside and outside. I don't think you need to worry about getting too cold by sitting outside because there are lots of heaters. Overall I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone who would like to enjoy a nice meal with a spectacular view!

~ DRINKS & DINNER WITH A VIEW ~…read more I was excited to learn that Topa Restaurant was opening up to non-members during social hours, especially since I'd heard great reviews from some friends who are members. However, when we arrived, we were turned away despite being there at the right time and were told we needed a reservation. With the restaurant still pretty empty, we quickly made a reservation on yelp and asked if we could be seated then. The staff seemed confused, and the manager seemed frustrated that we were making the reservation at the last minute. We ended up having a cocktail and enjoying the poached pear and arugula salad with some wagyu meatballs, which were all pretty tasty. While the restaurant is stunning and would be a lovely place to spend an evening, and the food and drinks were enjoyable, the overall experience makes me reluctant to return. I do hope the they improve their service so that future patrons feel more welcomed and less like a burden, as Topa has the potential to be a fantastic spot in Camarillo.

This spot is spectacular and had delicious food, good vibes, and great energy. You can tell it's a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. The area was busy and the weather was beautiful, but fortunately, we didn't have to wait long for a table on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant is clean and the staff was friendly. There is indoor seating, outdoor seating on a covered patio, and a bar. There's a nice observation deck upstairs with seating where you can enjoy the views while waiting. When we were seated, both of our chairs faced the window, which was a thoughtful detail to enjoy the harbor view while eating. *Seafood pasta: This was delicious! The noodles were cooked well al dente, and I loved that they used jumbo scallops instead of the small ones. There was a lot of shrimp and scallops to go with the pasta, so it felt well worth the price. *Clam chowder (cup): It actually came in a cute little mug which I found so amusing. The chowder was delicious and well-seasoned, and had actual pieces of clam, which I really appreciate. It wasn't overloaded with potatoes either. You could actually taste the chowder and clams rather than just eating a cup of potatoes. *Ahi poke: The fish was delicious and fresh with no fishy taste at all. It was a generous portion with great flavor. It was piled with snap peas, wonton crunch strips, sesame seeds, and a tangy dressing that brought it all together without drowning it. I normally don't order from the salad menu as my entree but I'm glad I ended up ordering this. *Complimentary bread: This is always a nice bonus at any restaurant. The bread was warm, soft, and delicious with their salted butter. I feel like I ate a ton of bread but still had space for the main courses, so I'll say it didn't feel like a heavy carb at all. Our server, Declan, was incredible! He was attentive and gave us great recommendations for places to visit nearby that we might not have otherwise known about or thought to look for. It really added to the experience. One thing to note is that they charge for parking Friday through Sunday and on holidays. It's not a lot, maybe a little over $1 per hour, with a maximum of around $6 for the day, if I recall correctly. From what some locals told me, parking used to be free. It wasn't a big deal for me, but it might be worth knowing for others planning a visit. Overall, we had a great experience, the prices are very reasonable for a harbor-side restaurant with a view, and I can't wait until my next visit!

The seared Ahi was fresh and nicely prepared. Soba Noodle Salad with grilled shrimp was just okay as the soba noodles needed to absorb the dressing better. Brophy Bros is a great place if you want a sit down seafood restaurant with a view overlooking the marina and Ventura hills. Prices are decent and not outrageous. We will bring our friends back if we are looking for a local seafood restaurant with a view.

If…read moreyou are working nearby or staying at the Sonesta hotel, this is definitely a good place for a quality lunch. Bistro 13 serves high-quality food at reasonable prices, and the service is attentive. The decorations are minimal and the view is mostly of the neighboring restaurants, but the setting is professional and perfect for a business-casual lunch. We walked in for an early lunch at 11:30. Our waiter Jesus was talking on the phone with a customer when we entered and didn't immediately acknowledge us. However, he hung up after a couple of minutes and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. We chose outside since it was a nice day, as it is on most days in Southern California. All the tables were empty, and he told us to pick any one we liked. Seeing our hesitation, he suggested a table in the shade. This was a good idea, as the day was getting warmer. I got the grilled salmon in a butter and caper cream sauce, and my colleague got the sautéed chicken breast in a lemon caper cream sauce, served over capellini pasta with sautéed vegetables. Both dishes were delicious, as expected. We also got cappuccinos, which were very good. Overall, Bistro 13 continues to be a reliable choice for good food, reasonable prices, and attentive service. We will be back.

ATTENTION CUSTOMERS -- PLEASE BE AWARE!…read more Waypoint Café - Camarillo, California On November 4, 2026, I visited Waypoint Café in Camarillo and noticed something concerning about how their suggested gratuities were being calculated. Their suggested tip percentages appeared to be calculated on the total AFTER sales tax, rather than the subtotal BEFORE tax. HERE'S WHAT MAKES THIS EVEN MORE CONCERNING: Their receipt specifically states that suggested gratuities are calculated BEFORE taxes. However, when I reviewed the actual numbers, the suggested tip amounts appeared to be calculated AFTER taxes were added. Naturally, I brought this discrepancy to the attention of the staff, expecting a simple explanation or acknowledgment of a possible error. Instead, I felt the staff became very defensive when I questioned the calculations. Their response was essentially that it didn't matter because gratuity is ultimately at the customer's discretion. While that statement is technically true, it completely misses the point! The issue isn't whether tipping is optional. The issue is that the receipt states one thing while the calculations appear to reflect something entirely different. Rather than addressing the discrepancy or offering to look into it, I felt my concern was dismissed. As a paying customer, I believe asking a legitimate question about a bill should be met with professionalism, courtesy, and a willingness to provide clarification--not defensiveness. WHY DOES THIS MATTER? For example, if your bill is $100 before tax and $108 after tax: * 20% suggested tip before tax: $20.00 * 20% suggested tip after tax: $21.60 * Difference: $1.60 That might not seem like much on one transaction, but those differences can add up across hundreds of customers. LET ME MAKE SOMETHING VERY CLEAR: I fully support tipping hardworking restaurant employees. Great service deserves recognition and appreciation. This post is not about avoiding gratuity or taking anything away from employees. This is about transparency, accuracy, accountability, and customer service. When a business prints a statement on its receipt explaining how suggested gratuities are calculated, customers should reasonably expect those calculations to be accurate. And when a customer politely raises a concern about a possible discrepancy, the appropriate response should be to investigate and explain--not dismiss the concern simply because tipping is optional. Whether this is a payment-processing configuration error, an oversight, or something management is unaware of, it deserves to be reviewed and corrected if necessary. MY ADVICE TO OTHER CUSTOMERS: CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS! Don't automatically assume the suggested tip percentages are calculated the way the receipt claims. Take a moment to review the subtotal, sales tax, and suggested gratuity amounts before paying. I encourage Waypoint Café management to review this issue and ensure that its printed statements accurately reflect its calculations. At the end of the day, it's not about the extra dollar or two. It's about the principle. Customers deserve accurate billing information, honest explanations, and respectful treatment when they raise legitimate concerns. Transparency builds trust. Dismissing customer concerns damages it. I'm sharing my personal experience so other customers can be informed and make their own decisions.
