The first time was using a groupon. You would think the staff would want to make a lasting impression to keep you coming back....Not the case. I called ahead and made an appointment. I expressed my needs and the Groupon offer I had. Came in and was NOT greeted by any of the staff. I waited at the desk a few minutes and a man came from the back and "motioned" for me to sit down. No words were spoken. I expressed the reason for my visit and presented the Groupon up front. He only nodded his head and started working on my nails. Keep in mind the reason for my visit was a Pedicure and a full set (acrylic) with Gel Polish. A few minutes in a young lady walked up to the employee, speaking in another language and laughed. She exclaimed "Ooops" with a smile. She motioned me to a pedicure chair and another employee began the prep for my feet. The water was HOT. I said so. She motioned me to put my feet in and when I said "NO, It's HOT"...she grabbed my leg and tried to put my foot in the water. I obviously resisted. Once the water was cool, I placed my feet in and pedicure commenced. It was "okay" but rough. My nails, welp... they were done but mediocre at best. I paid with the groupon and left no tip. I WILL NOT be coming back. My impression was, I got the service the groupon paid for and nothing more. NO conversation to be had. No customer service provided. Showed up at 520 and was refused service saying I was late. I didn't make an appointment just asked if it was busy and they had time. 2 stars instead of 1 because the two women who gave my sister and I pedicures were really nice and attentive. I purchased two Groupon deals for shellac manis and pedis for my sisters birthday. I should have looked this place up before we went! It was so unsanitary I was scared to get a pedi here. There was dust from the nails they worked on in the seat right before I sat in it. I don't think they wiped the seat down or cleaned out the pedi tub after use. My sisters pedicure was really nice and enjoyable for her, but the manicure was really rushed and the application of polish was not the best. They were working on her nails while she was sitting in the pedicure chair and got nail clippings and whatnot all over her and her clothes. I was bummed out because I'm not from the area but wanted to take my sister out for a girls day, and this definitely wasn't what I expected. It's a very chaotic environment and if you want to relax, this is not the place. I went to cosmetology school and learned very well about sanitary practices, and there was so much nasty stuff going on, I couldn't keep track of it all. This place has always been unprofessional. I was 18 when I stopped coming because Kenny got upset and walked away from me because he couldn't get my nails right. At 26 I decided to try again because they're under new management. At first it was great, let me correct myself. The nails were great. Michelle always does my nails and it always seems like Michelle hates her job. She seems like she's in a bad mood, she does not smile, she does not talk, she looks mad every time I see her she looks like she hates her life and maybe she does but that doesn't have anything to do with me. I could've swore when you have a job all that gets left outside the door but okay. Here's my nails today. One hand was obviously more rushed than the other. She didn't wanna take the time to give me a fresh new set so she painted over dark green powder with a light pastel orange and didn't even lay it out even. I trusted her with my nails and with her idea of laying a pastel ass color over some dark ass green and not only did she rush through it, attitude included, she failed lol. Horribly. Stop offering thin line designs if you don't have steady hands. THE only reason I didn't say anything is because it would've resulted in something way worse seeing that I was already having a bad day lol. I know how y'all get when black people raise their voices. I purchased a Groupon for Shellac polish $19. I was able to get right in, the salon appeared to be clean. I showed them a picture of the color and style ombré and asked if they could do it which they replied they did. The leader gave the artist a powder dip color which appeared to me was way too bright. They assured me it would be fine. nail artist was super sweet but obviously wasn't experienced with this and my finger nails were uneven in color, had the color everywhere including packed underneath my nails. I told her I wasn't happy and asked her to fix a couple of nails. She said because they were my real nails, they'd have to file off the polish which would ruin my nails. I told her I wanted 2 fixed. Honestly it poked like my 5 year old granddaughter did it! After the leader heard me complaining about it, she asked to see Groupon, inactivated it and tod me $20 extra for the ombré. I knew it would cost extra, but $20??? I told her I was unhappy sndcthe now $40 nail job was unprofessional and I wasn't happy. She grabbed at my hands, filed a few down and fixed them the best she could without doing the entire thing over again. She was pissed and it was obvious. I got no apology, no discount and was told next time I come in I'd get a 10pct discount. I told her I wouldn't be in again. I went home and tried to clean up my nails, digging color out from underneath. I emailed the salon and told them how disappointed I was and it wasn't worth the money and time I spent there (4:15-6:45). I was giving them a chance to make it right. Sometimes times heals all wounds, sometimes it doesn't. I've had my acrylic nails for 16 years now. I went to this business for several years but then I stopped going, and couldn't even tell you why. I think I can consider myself well versed in what to expect, and what not to in the land of mani / pedis / nails. Recently, I decided it was time to removes my nails. I had shellac on them. I told them it was time to take them off. I visioned this to be a soaking them off type job and willing to pay for it. NOT It ended up being a ripping and prying them off till they left holes in my nail bed that went all the way into the meat under the nail. If you hurry, you can still see the damage. Then she has the nerve to put POLISH on top of them. Do you have any clue how bad that hurts? THEN she had the nerve to blame me for having thin nails. Came in there today for a fill and when I got there for my appointment they took 20 minutes to start my nails, when he sat down and saw what I wanted, he didn't say anything. When it came time to fill my nails he made them all lumpy bumpy and uneven. He barely touched my nail with the drill. He completely ruined my shape and made them look horrible. When he started painting then the gel started bubbling, when he noticed he then started painting over them but 2 at a time, then put them in the light. All my nails either had hair in them or mark s from hI'm accidentally touching them. he sighed the whole time when I got to the register he told me 70$.. I paid it cause I was in a hurry. When I left I called them asking how much was a fill and they told me $30.. why would mine be 70$? I then told her I was just in there and I am so unhappy with my nails and why did that cost me so much? She said it's because of the time it took him to do my nails.
