I have a new favorite place in town for breakfast and I look forward to trying their lunch. The location has a nice, clean diner feel to it, the staff were prompt, pleasant and courteous and the food was outstanding. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and it was excellent. In the other places in town, that normally results in a plate full of grease. That was not the case at Lasko's. Everything tasted fresh, the rye toast was excellent and the hashbrowns and corned beef hash both had a perfect sear on them. Prices were good. I went here with some work friends today at lunch, and we were all impressed with the quality of food and the service. I had their reuben and it was fantastic. Loads of the best tasting corned beef I've had in a long time. A friend had the burger (which also had corned beef on it, and said it was great). There are plenty of staff on hand and all were friendly and helpful. At the end of the meal, we left talking about how we looked forward to visiting again soon. Laskos brings that metro Detroit coney island taste to mid Michigan. Being a native of metro Detroit, my family has dearly missed that special comfort food you can only find at a Greek diner. Laskos is originally from down state and they are one of only a couple of restaurants like this in the region. I highly recommend their lamb gyro sandwich with a side of coney fries. You will also not be disappointed with their Greek salad. Service is fast and top notch. Only thing that could make it better is a vestibule to manage the winter wind that blows through when their door opens. read more

Went to Laskos this morning for breakfast. Ordered a side of link sausage for my 2 year old. They charged me $4.50 for 4 link of GFS sausage. When I inquired to the waitress, I was told very curtly, "that's what it is". I've been in there many times over the past couple years and had encounters with the owner. She is very rude and condescending. You'll recognize her when you go in there, she she's the tall lady hovering over the cash register looking down her nose passing judgement on everyone. read more

I was starving so me and my friend went there today. The guy that seated us was friendly and happy. Only good part. We were seated by the kitchen door where there was constant in and out of the bus boy splashing water and drinks and food everywhere we were uninformed about any of the up charges coffee was $2.75 the woman overfilled my coffee and poured it on my hand and then didn't even apologize she grabbed my coffee mug by the top of the mug not the handle took it and dumped some of the coffee out and brought it back then my friend got her food while I had to sit and wait for my food when my food finally did arrive I had to holler across the restaurant to the waitress to find out why I did not have my toast and then at the end when they brought us our check there's all these big charges on there and I couldn't figure out what they belong to well my friend had ordered a side of toast but she didn't order a side of those she ordered the breakfast that she thought came with a side of toast when she was placing her order she said and for the toast and the lady said nothing so we got charged $2.50 for a side of toast the lady that served us never smiled she acted like we were in the wrong entire time she never once told us there was an opportunity for money to be spent there for more than what we thought we had ordered so I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I will never be returning to this business and it was my favorite breakfast spot until today read more

I got the veggie omelette and pancakes and was pretty far from finishing it all. Everything tasted acceptable. As is to be expected, it was pretty busy on a Sunday. This is one of my favorite restaurants and recommend it a lot. The food is amazing. I have never had a bad meal there. Some of my favorite things are the French fries, the corned beef, the burgers, and their breakfasts. I never been there when it wasn't busy, but they flip tables rather fast. I have to say, we had an excellent experience today at Lasko's. Our Car club pushed the limits of seating and service at around 2:30PM on a Saturday, and the Staff responded with pure performance! With a group larger than 15 people, we were seated, our orders were taken, and before we knew it, we were eating. The orders were fast, correct, and the food was really good. Everyone was impressed. This is a wonderful restaurant, great food - good service - friendly atmosphere. I've had breakfast and lunch here, I could eat here everyday and would always have something to order. They have a nice selection of entrees, their hours are 7am - 3pm daily. I just had eggs, hashbrowns, bacon, rye toast and coffee yesterday. Just great I didn't know that eggs could taste so good, when you use quality food to start with the outcome is wonderful when you know how to cook them just right. Coffee is great too. Food was good. Our waitress, who has only been working there a week and a half, was very friendly and attentive. The owner, Liza, who works the cash register is the reason I'll take my business elsewhere though. Very poor experience on Saturday, Nov 11th. I only wanted one pancake and side of sausage. The combo comes with three pancakes and a side of meat for $7.99. Our waitress said she could do a half order of pancakes instead of the full order. And bring me side of sausage. Perfect. I get my bill and was charged $4.99 for the pancakes and $4.50 for the sausage = $9.49. So basically I was charged $1.50 more for less food. When I confronted the waitress, she offered to take $1 off the combo price bringing the bill to $6.99. They sounded fair. I proceed to the register and the owner, Liza, rings it up at $9.49. I questioned her and explained that the waitress had adjusted the price since it was a half order. She said that was wrong and the total was $9.49. I said well then I should have ordered a full order, it would have been cheaper. She rudely commented, "I can have them make you another pancake!!" Well Liza no worries, I'll pass on that pancake but be sure to know everyone I know will know how displeased I was and how RUDE you are!!! Poor management! read more

Lasko's is a great place for breakfast or lunch (closed for supper). The meal portions are all plenty enough to fill you up. The omelette are very large (3 egg) and come with a generous portion of hash browns or pancakes. The salads are fresh and delicious as well. I made the mistake once of ordering 2 coney dogs with a side of fries because at most places, that would be a full meal for me. But at Lasko's with their larger-than-average hot dogs and heaping plates of fries, 1 coney was all I could handle. As a side note, their coneys are Detroit style, not Flint style. Just know that the dinning area normally fills up so getting a group in can be a challenge. read more

I highly recommended this restaurant to a friend and he graciously went to pick up an order for me to check it out. I ordered ONE item well under $5, yet he received no change or a receipt. This wasn't a big deal, but because I deal with finances I called to asked about the change. The response that I had overheard the owner (who cashed out the order) shocked me as she claimed that my friend must have pocketed it, so I asked to talk to her. I explained to her that I had overheard her remark(s) (as she had quite several more unkind things to say that I overheard) and that I was putting her on speakerphone so with my friend in my office. She suddenly changed her story and said it wasn't a big deal and that it must have been a huge misunderstanding. The change wasn't what I had a problem with, it was the way my friend was rudely treated by the owner and then making him to be the one who was the one at fault. If you can't treat customers politely, if you assume that their change is an automatic tip, and think it's acceptable to make a joke about a complaint, then good luck with staying in business. I'd be curious if this restaurant remains open under this owner as customer service, or frankly, just being polite is not her forte. As for myself and this experience, I personally will not be ordering / visiting Lasko's again & I know I definitely will not recommend this business to anyone. read more

My husband and I dine at Lasko's regularly, in fact, it's worth the drive from Bay City 2-3x a week. You couldn't ask for better service and meals at a family style restaurant. Lasko & Lisa are very personable and pay attention to details. The staff is hard-working and efficient. Lasko is so customer-oriented and offers to cook to order due to my allergies. We're lucky to have such a fine establishment in mid-Michigan and we're hoping Lasko will consider opening several restaurants in the region. read more

Worst experience ever. Waited 15 minutes and then was not allowed to sit down because some of our party was waiting in the car because we had small children. When I asked if I could get them I was told that if they are not there right that minute they were giving our table away. This is the second time they were extremely rude. Had breakfast here Friday morning. Two eggs over easy on their Veggie Skillet. It was great. Every ingredient was fresh and each flavor component came thru. Really a nice clean environment. I have enjoyed eating at Lasko's several times. This last time, on a Saturday morning, I came in with a friend for breakfast. The restaurant was very busy(which is great) yet we got seated fairly fast. I ordered a corned beef and swiss omelet and my guest ordered biscuits and gravy. I asked for my hash browns crisp with onions which I have done many times before at Lasko's and other restaurants. Their coffee is excellent by the way. When my friends biscuits and gravy came, I noticed a plate full of sausage gravy and only one biscuit cut in half. How about enough biscuits to eat the amount of gravy used. The gravy is from a can, Chef Mate, which is very good but only one small biscuit and the plate floating with gravy--What??? My omelet was great as usual with Lasko's homemade corned beef. The hash browns were cooked just right with onions too. My beef is when I got the bill, they charged me .99cents for some diced onions in my hash browns. Come on, the omelet was $8.99 and another buck for a few pieces of diced onions--how cheap can you be. Never charged ever for onions in my hash browns at Lasko's or any restaurant. The same complaint about only one biscuit in the sea of canned sausage gravy. My last visit to Lasko's anytime soon. read more
