    Veggie omelet

This is a fine example of a Michigan diner. I was on a 3 hour road trip and needed a bathroom break. Originally stopped at the Panera to relieve the pressure. Aha! It was time for breakfast so I took a chance on this place based on Yelp review. Great for breakfast today. Everything was well prepared and tasty for the wife and I. Service was impeccable. Coffee cups stayed filled although one was decaf and the other regular. My veggie omelet and American fries were done to perfection. Neither over nor under cooked that happens frequently with breakfast potatoes. You enter the restaurant through the mall entrance and it's immediately on your right. The restaurant is nicely decorated with an embossed ceiling.

Had turkey melt, which was excellent but fries were even better. Sandwich had a smoky teaser which was pleasant. Bun is soft and fresh. Several pairsmeeting at lunchtime Thursday, plus one large party. Overall was calm with oldies not too loud on radio (covered several decades). There was soup and salad bar. Restroom was clean and well stocked. Quick friendly service when I was there. Only rails or trains in sight were in photos and on top of salad bar.

This is seen as soon as you walk in the front doors.

Our first time here. The food was really good and service was too. Upon parking in the parking lot, looks are deceiving. You have to enter the establishment from inside the mall. The decor was pretty nice and the place was clean.

On the road again. Find myself in Midland, Michigan, or a quick trip. Looking for some local Midland eateries. Was directed to Alex's railside and was certainly not disappointed. The food, portions and service were top-notch. Although the ambience was OK, it was certainly made up by the service I received. Great menu with, can you believe it, a real live salad bar. Had the smothered pork steak with Swiss cheese, onions, and mushrooms covering the steak. The steak was cooked perfectly and was quite tasty.

They've got a great mix of pinball machines, old-school arcade classics, and some newer games, so it doesn't feel like a museum, it actually feels alive. You can bounce between games, grab a drink, and just hang out without it feeling forced. What really surprised me though was the food. I expected typical bar food, but they go way beyond that. The brunch is legit, and the menu has some creative dishes that actually feel thought out, not just thrown together. It's the kind of place where you come for the games and end up staying for the food. The staff are super friendly and bring a fun energy without being over the top. It also strikes a nice balance crowd-wise. During the day, it's totally a spot you could bring your kids and let them have a blast, and later on it shifts into more of a social hangout where you can meet locals and vibe. Overall, it's just a really well done arcade bar that doesn't try too hard but still delivers on everything. Definitely worth checking out.

The meat was over cooked and dried. They placed onions and cheese on top. Maybe it's a personal preference but I like the cheese and vegetables mixed in with the meat. The bread was basic. I used a lot of ketchup so it would not taste/feel too dry while I was eating it. I did try one of their drinks and the Michigan Mule was very weak and flat, had ginger ale, to me. This is an arcade bar and had a lot of pinball machines. But it wasn't overbearing loud. There's cute gaming decor all around and the hallway to the bathroom is interesting to look at. They were full of drawing and random statements from previous customers. There were some children running around so def a place for all ages. I think this place is more about the pinball machines than the food. Haha. The waiter did a great job balancing our side of the building with huge parties. There is free parking out front.

All the meats were nicely smoked, fresh and tender. The Mac n cheese and Beans were very good. Cornbread was also good, moist and flavorful. The food came out very fast, drinks were also good. The front door let in a blast of freezing air every time someone came in, making our food get cold quickly. Most importantly, the BBQ ribs that my mom had were burnt to a crisp. The coleslaw was awful and no one at our table ate it. It was tinged with a pink color...ugh. The smokes turkey that I ordered as part of a 2 meat dinner was drier than a bone. So they slathered some sauce on the top and called it good. Cornbread was good. Everyone complained about the over done meat...and in fine print, beware, if you order the St. Louis style ribs, they will add on a 8.95 cent up charge. For what???? Extra time on the "Barbie?" To top it off, they added a 20% tip to the bill AND they added a 3% surcharge to use our bank card. Overall, a terrible meal and better yet, the manager didn't believe us or care about our experience. Save your money.::go somewhere else.
