Servers here are always delightful. Alison was our server today. The salad with strawberries was over dressed. We didn't understand that it already came with Italian dressing it when we ordered it with balsamic dressing. We appreciated that the general manager Carin stopped by our table and was willing to remake that one salad for us. She's really terrific!! This is one of my "go-to" places for lunch or dinner!! read more

Friendly staff, seated immediately. Ordered appetizers, entrees, and drinks from the happy hour menu. Great prices, fast service. We had gift cards and coupon. The manager was kindly able to accept our coupon. Super happy with the experience and quality of the food. read more

My sample platter came out late. Chris the manager came over and made it right. Will be back again

The food on this trip was exactly as I expected! Delicious, my Long Island Ice Teas helped too! The ambiance is always the same as one would expect. Again the service is ok, and as I would expect! Great place to have a chat with friends and a few cocktails with your dinner! read more

Server was great. Everything else, management, kitchen etc.. awful. Absolutely worthless. Ruined my daughters birthday. The only thing that was half decent was the broccoli. 1adult 2 children over $100.00 for garbage. The star is something I was forced to enter to complete the review. If it were up to me, new kitchen staff and new management. My server did his best to accommodate with his legs cut out from underneath him. It's a service industry, and my server was the only one who understood it. read more

Went here with my wife and daughter. I had the ribs and my wife had the riblets and my daughter had the chicken tenders. My wife had an awesome drink and then her and my daughter ordered some crazy delicious dessert. Oh, and I had a cup of French onion soup that was also super delicious. But the best part of our visit was our server, Maggie. She was totally cool, friendly, and always made sure everything was great our entire visit. We'll definitely be coming back! read more

Applebee's Grill + Bar - Chocolate lava deliciousness! - American Near Me - Midland, Michigan

Friendly staff handicapped by really bad food and a slow kitchen. Entree's were so salty they were inedible. Stay away.

Terrible food! Quality is not a priority here. I got riblets that tasted of lighter fluid. Within minutes of eating I was nauseousl

The service is phenomenal. The wait staff work together like a bee hive and make sure everyone in the sections are taken care of. Even the head manger was on the floor and asking customers if they been ok and asking for more or less. The ambiance of it is always great and works for the brand. The food never fails to be great. We been here a few times and always full and great price for the food. Come check this out. The cooks are great at what they do. All the one star reviews can go jump off a cliff. read more

Drinks came after entre, appetizer came after we were done eating. Possibly a new waitress. Bill was wrong 3 times. Very disappointed

Amazing food and the service too, I will definitely go there again.thank you guys for great food and service.

Food was absolutely fabulous! Thank you so much for taking the burden of dinner off of me while I am traveling! Julie and Kaitlyn were so friendly! The food was fast but didn't lack in quality thanks guys ! read more

Meet my daughter here for lunch. They were really taking minimal contact to a new level. Food brought out on separate trays, staff doesn't touch glasses (but they must of touched to fill). Food was good, standard Applebee's. Waitress was great, I didn't get her name, but attentive so left a slightly larger tip (25%). read more

fire Allecia please she's slow and i was thirsty and needed ranch for my mozzarella sticks

Customer service was amazing. After having some mysterious allergen cross contamination (very little amount), they immediately took the dish off the bill and was very kind and responsive to us. The food was delicious, hot and fresh. We would love to come to Applebees again. read more

I have eatin here for 20 years I remember when the service was great, the food , people took pride in making, but lately the last 2 night time visits have been sorely sub par. Steak overcooked, food cold, 30 minutes to get it appetizers brought out with dinner, drinks not refilled (I actually went to the bar to get a refill) and just the overall attentiveness was lacking. Let me be clear. I hate complaining, and now a days you cant be certain your food wont take the brunt of it. The manager happened by towards the early end of our meal to ask how everything was? I explained it wasn't great but not the worst we've had but was disappointed. He offered additional food to replace it, but you wait 30 minutes for it then begrudgingly eat some of it, you dont want more. The thing I hated the most out of this was him (the manager) "asking me" what he could do to make it right? I am certain some folks wont understand this, but I dont want to be asked this, I simply want the manager to ascertain what "he" needs to do to make "it right" especially if more food isn't the "fix". Overall Applebees has been struggling as a brand name and after tonight I dont think it helped its cause. read more

Applebee's Grill + Bar - Aside from horrible service and I do mean horrible. Look at this public table tablets picture, filthy!! This place has fallin. - American Near Me - Midland, Michigan

Very annoying and disappointing. Arrived here, the parking lot was virtually empty as well as the tables in the restaurant. When we got to the door, the greeter informed us it would be a 40 minute wait. Ridiculous considering the abundance of seating inside. Very unimpressed. We left and went to Logans where the parking lot and restaurant were both fairly packed, probably thanks to Applebee's unwillingness to serve their patrons, and were seated immediately and had drinks in front of us almost straight away. Shameful... read more

Well the food wasn't bad here. Kinda what I would expect from a chain. Service was mediocre, however food was quick. Chicken smells good when you reheat it on the range. I don't see this along with most other Applebee's getting better than a 6-7/10 and that has to do with their processes and COVID. If they were able to innovate, I could see them getting better. read more

Same menu and food and interior as any other Applebees. Not my kinda place, but whatever, I was there to spend time with friends. I was disappointed by the lack of any vegan options and the complete inflexibility shown by staff and apparently management. Fries, a side salad that was mostly iceberg, and chips n' salsa were the only vegan things on the menu. Except... If you order an entree you get sides. Like green beans and steamed broccoli. Green beans sounded good today. So I asked if they could please let me order just a side of green beans. Flat no from the server. Not even "let me see what I can do for you". I explained that I eat vegan, so I don't want to order an entree that I don't want to eat. Still a flat no, followed by a laugh. Seemed kinda rude. I try really hard not to be a pita about the vegan thing so I didn't go all asking for the manager complainy pants whatever. But really, almost everywhere else will try and accommodate you with what you want to eat. I mean, it's not like I asked for a free plate of green beans* (?!), I just wanted to exchange some money for some green beans. So... I got the lowest common denominator of vegan food, fries and house salad. Fries were fine, salad was lame, service was really unhelpful. P.S. This review probably uses the phrase "green beans" more than you've ever seen in 600 words! read more

Came in at 4 in Mother's Day and we were sat right then, no waiting. The reason for the lower stars was based on the service and a little on the quality/preparation of the food. Shrimp wanton stir fry seemed watery. Maybe the sauce was too watery and that made the dish to wet. The brisket quesadilla was good however. Mozzarella sticks were simply average. It did seem to be good size portions but for the price it should be. The service I was disappointed in because I ordered a drink (Bahama Mama) and once it came I saw the specials board and thought my drink qualified. I asked Leigha about it, she checked with the manager and told me it did qualify. I ordered another and when she brought it back she informed me it didn't qualify for the half price. 1) she should have known before I even ordered if I was ordering a special offer drink 2) it would have been nice for her to tell me the Bahama Mama with the lesser rum was the qualifying drink (I would have ordered that for the half price). She didn't really check on us but a couple other people did, managers or what I'm not sure. This has never really been a favorite place to eat and this just reinforced that notion. Food was mediocre, service not that great and the atmosphere is simply a bar/restaurant, nothing special. Prices are a bit high (for the quality of food), seating seems adequate and parking looked to be enough. read more

I've had a long relationship with this Applebee's! I've been here on and off for over a decade. It waxes and wanes, but I've noticed recently the friendliness has improved but the service accuracy and speed has declined. (50 minutes from order to delivery to table today.) That's kind of weird to have not so great service from friendly people! :) But there's some really nice servers, managers, etc. Very friendly. But lots of errors over the past two years and a gradual deleting of low carb options (remember Monterey Chicken?) is making it hard for me to recommend. On the other hand, you might go and have a great experience. I think they're trying to improve. read more

Dining alone most of the time stinks and when they insist you sit at the "full service" bar it's worse. It's not a table! It's not meant for dinner it's a bar! While the young lady behind the bar was nice I don't care to watch her wash dishes stack dirty dishes and cups at the end of the bar next to me or listen to the ice grinder in my ear through dinner. But somehow I caved and sat at the full service bar after falling to peer pressure- so unlike me. Let's get to the details of the food it's usual Applebees great pictures on the menu and well then you get your food you ordered. The steak was a bit under cooked, the broccoli was perfect mixed with the potatoes that were missing the peaks from the photo. It's just all about presentation at this point - right? So we will move to price. I had a diet soda and the 6oz with 2 side (salad was not a choice - boo) and my bill was $15.67. They always have their 2 for 20 which is a good for budget conscious family. They do have $1 margaritas in October but sitting at the full service bar I was not offered one, I saw it on the sign pulling out of the parking lot - read more

We just had Applebee's delivered and it was very good. I hadn't been there in five plus years. Wife had a gift card so we thought we'd try. We got their speciality burgers and fries and were pleasantly surprised. Buns were fresh and soft, meat cooked properly, toppings spot on. Fries were very good as well. Their website is a bit funky and called restaurant to see if we could order on phone and were told no. Other than that, it was good read more

I haven't been to an Applebee's in about a decade but since they revamped their menu, my boyfriend wanted to give them a shot. We didn't have to wait to be seated at 5pm on a Saturday and our server was friendly. We started with the Mozzarella Sticks ($7.99) which did not disappoint. I also had an OK cocktail called Bourbon & Berries ($7.99). While waiting we played the trivia game on the touchscreen.. although it makes time go faster, it does repeat some questions and you can find better trivia online for free. The games cost 99 cents so keep your kid away from the screen if you don't want to pay. The Thai Shrimp Salad ($10.99) does not look much like the photo. There was barely any lettuce; it was mostly the white rib and small shreds of cabbage with a couple wonton strips only garnishing the plate. There was not much in general. Although it tasted good there was too much pepper. I would have preferred some fresh chilies but I know the clientele here wouldn't be able to handle that. My boyfriend's Brunch Burger with fries was the same price so I felt a little cheated. I know that there is a significant mark up for dishes containing shrimp but there were plenty; just give me more lettuce! read more

Took the whole family to dinner the other night and the kids chose to visit Applebees. While I wasn't excited about it, I ended up having a fantastic time and the food was great. Don't know what's happened to this place, but the kitchen staff needs to be fired. Went there last week, ordered the Marsala Mushroom Sirloin 9oz. Medium Rare. Food came out, my wife's pasta dish was stone cold. My steak was raw in the middle, and the mushrooms were not cooked. It's like they had slapped the steak on the plate, pored sauce on it, then sliced cold uncooked mushrooms on top of that. Our waitress was very nice, and took our plates back to the kitchen. 20 minutes later, the food came back out. My wife's pasta dish was as hot as boiling water. They had completely redone my dish, but this time it was way over cooked and dry. Not to mention they stuck a 7 oz steak on the plate instead of the 9oz. I noticed there was a new manager. The time we went there before this, I ordered a steak and it came all fat and grissel. The manager back then, took my plate back, made sure a good steak delivered back to me, and took the whole thing off the bill with an apology. Now that was good service, but apparently no more. read more

Found plastic in my salad & while the manager offered me free dessert the rest of the meal was greasy & tasteless.

I feel weird giving your typical Applebee's four stars, but there aren't a ton of options in Midland so this one is a go-to. It always seemed to be awesome as well, moreso than any other Applebee's I've been to. Who knows why that is, but this is a solid choice if you're ever in The City of Modern Explorers. read more

Very pleasant atmosphere, with a lot of nice local touches and decor. We were shown to a table which was pretty noisy, but the staff cheerfuly moved us to a very nice and quieter table. But--our meals were pretty disappointing. One person complained that his chicken meal was very salty; I found the steak to be quite tough. We were hoping to make this our Go To place for a homey takeout meal... but Applebees definitely didn't cut it. When I've eaten at other Applebees locations, the food has been much better. read more

Went here because it's a decent place to get both dinner and dessert. The promotional menu items of their "toppers" are ending so I figured I would try one. I got the steak and it was horrible. Every bite had tendons in it and I couldn't even chew it. Worse $16 I have ever spent. It will be a long time, if ever, before I come back here. Plus, I will NEVER get steak from here again! The only reason I'm giving ANY stars on this review is for my dessert. read more

Our second visit since the renovation and sadly still very disappointing. We started by ordering a Sam Adams Lager which we told the staff was actually Cherry Wheat! We were told we must be mistaken as they did not sell Cherry Wheat. After insisting they check the barrel..they acknowledged that it was indeed Cherry Wheat. My coffee cup was half refilled and I was told more coffee would take 10 minutes...why even bother to give a customer a half cup of old coffee? We ordered the chili lime shrimp and a shrimp and spinach salad. After 30 minutes it arrived but the shrimp and vege's were cold and had to be sent back. Another 15 minute wait...and still no food. We decided to get the check and leave just as the Manager appeared all too late with our food. there were apologies and our one beer and coffee comped..but we will not be going back. read more
