This is a bar/restaurant within walking distance of Dow Diamond. Typical bar food. The best addition here is the addition of an outdoor patio. Frankly; we don't go here in the winter due to the oppressive cigarette smoke odor. this establishment would really benefit by eliminating smoking. read more

Come here for a watered down drink or a special of root beer and cream alone. They saw we were new, and even though they knew we'd be staying in the area for months they poured us no alcohol for fun. This place is a strong amalgam of good and bad, with things generally falling in the middle. The place is darkly painted (as black, I believe), but is well lit - there aren't too many dark corners to skulk in except in the back room area to the left of the main entrance - near the bathrooms - and far away from everyone else, yet still in a large room. The main entrance also is the rear of the bar (since the patio is probably the real "front" entrance), and is caged off from the customers with a large metal rack, leaving a feeling of strangeness or exclusion when entering on a typical non-crowded day. Generally, it feels like a wide open space bar where you're an unwelcome outsider unless you know everyone. So, it's a dive bar, but it's a large, well lit, dive bar. read more

This review is based in my experience at Decker's Lounge in the year of 2016. I would have wrote this sooner, but I didn't have the words to describe my sadness and anger. Decker's was my establishment of choice for life's celebrations and nights out with friends... that was until I was band for life. The staff here has no concept of fun. If you're going to run a business, know the look and feel of IDs from different states. Saying an ID is "too flimsy" is no way to determine if an ID is or is not valid. And saying "get a Michigan ID" is a pathetic alternative. It is irresponsible. read more

If I could give zero stars, I'd do so again.. this is second Yelp review. After a horrific time the first experience I had, I let a few months go by and tried this place again. My mistake. As I sit in the corner trying to take in the entertainment of karaoke, the bartender once again made a fool of herself. She must love to lose business by kicking people out. Tonight there was a party of people that clearly all knew one another and she felt the need to come over to a table and ask for an older womens i.d. By no means did she look close to being under age, but she rudely interrupted her conversation and yelled that without an i.d she was not allowed to be in the bar. (Yes, she has the right to refuse to service to whom she chooses, but slowly and surely she will make sure this business loses all business). If I could give zero stars I would. Change your waitstaff and give more respect to your customers (seeing their the ones who keep the doors open). read more

I've been there a few times just recently on the weekends and the bar was pretty packed. The atmosphere was mixed with people of all ages. The service is good and their burgers are ALMOST as great as the Boulevard. If your looking to be entertained on Friday night come on down and karaoke with your friends and some crazy locals. I visited deckers for the first time a few weeks ago and was served raw chicken strips. They were so raw that they were still cold, every single one. The cherry on top of the cake is that instead of taking these off my bill I was given the Senior Discount (10% off) for chicken that was served to me RAW. I didn't make a fuss while I was there and decided to call the next day to speak with the owner. I then called everyday for a week because every time I called I was told the same thing "the owner/manager isn't here please call back tomorrow at *** time". I finally after over a week of calling got in contact with the owner/manager and he told me that he would find out what happened and get ahold of me again. It's now been over two weeks and I've still not heard back from him after several calls and even Facebook messages. If you want to eat at a place that serves you raw meet and had the worst customer service in town then this is the place for you!!! read more

Had not been to Decker's in over a decade and wanted to try it again after Mlive rated it MIdland County's Best Bar. It had not changed a lot since I last saw it; it has always been pretty clean and well-organized with a friendly staff. I don't really remember what the food was like back in the day, but I was pleasantly surprised by the food we ordered. I ordered the Cod Fish Basket with French fries and that normally means a lot of grease. Not in this case. The fish was good, as were the fries and it wasn't dripping in grease. What my dining partner got, looked especially good. When he ordered the steak with baked potato; in my head, I kind of questioned it. You don't think that a small bar with a limited menu would have a good steak. My companion told me that the steak was done absolutely perfectly, the potato was not microwaved, and that he would definitely order it again. This is REALLY a good bar and grill. We will be back, especially when we are downtown for a Loons game. read more

Uh, no way. Very good prices on drinks, but the food and service is horrendous. It's not "typical bar food", it's typical dog food. Wife ordered a salad and I ordered a coney dog. Stopped in here while on a road trip through Michigan at lunch time on a Friday. Every table was taken and people were seated at the bar. My husband ordered a cheeseburger and said it was good (and he's a cheeseburger snob). I went to run some errands while my husband stayed at the bar and met a friend. We ended up being there into the night when Karaoke started. The "singers" are horrible but that's why karaoke is a hit! Everyone was having a great time and again, the place was packed. If you want a local place to hang out and throw back some affordable drinks, this place is it. I'm not sure what the other review means about cigarette smoke, when I walked in the bar smelled exceptionally clean (and Michigan no longer allows smoking indoors). read more

This place is awful. I went there with some friends and ordered a pizza. For the price, I was expecting something decent but it was like they just took a crappy frozen cheese pizza, and then just tossed the toppings on top of that. The toppings weren't melted into the cheese or anything. That garbage frozen pizza crust gave me a headache and gave my girlfriend a stomach ache. They had some good beers on tap but I don't think they deserve much credit for that. Also, the men's bathroom had no paper towels in it and my girlfriend said the women's bathroom was pretty disgusting too. The service was adequate and our group enjoyed the karaoke, but I'd never go back. read more
