It's a nice little spot i just wish I got a little bit better service. The first time I went, I got a fish sandwich in it. It was really good. I was with my real estate agent and her husband this time I got back. I was by myself and I ordered the same thing. I got 3 pieces of fish that were very greasy and some onion rings. I was the same way. No bag, ketchup is handed to me. I was just a little bit disciplined but the owner came out of helping when I spilled my drink. So that made it a lot better. But next time, my glum have to be very specific about what I want.Maybe the girl was just in. Stopped in for lunch. It's in a small beach enclave outside of Standish so it's not easy to find. OK hamburger and onion rings. Nice little yard area on the lakefront with picnic tables. Our bartender/cook/server was very nice as were the folks around us. Definitely a locals place. Very divey. read more

Well, dang, this was good. I was just looking for a place that served alcohol and had food. Boy, did we ever come to the right place. It doesn't look like much from the outside - something like a hole in the wall bar - but inside it's roomy, and everything looks like it was recently updated. One nice touch is that you are right on Lake Huron: get a table near the window so you can admire nature's beauty while you eat. The prices are extremely reasonable, and best of all the food is very good. The 1/3 pound burger was beefy and tasty. I asked for Swiss, and I was told that they accidentally put American cheese on it, so they put Swiss on top of it, no extra charge. Nice. The onion rings don't look like anything special, But they're tasty and crispy. The waitress told us at the grilled chicken sandwich is the only thing on the menu that isn't fried or a burger. My wife got that, and it was good, but not nearly as good as the burger. Alicia was the bartender and also our server. It was slow when we came in, so she spent time talking to us. This made for a perfect experience here: great food, great prices, and great company. We will seriously drive out of our way to come back here again. You will need a navigator app on your phone to find it, since it's pretty out-of-the-way, but it's worth the trip. read more

Such a fun little bar. Pool tables and a few arcade machines, touch tunes and the best view of Lake Huron.

Fish dinner is AMAZING. I had the whitefish and my husband had a combination of whitefish and perch. It came out hot and was super crispy, excellent flavor! The seasoned fries were delicious too. The view is pretty great as well being right off the water. It isn't all you can eat but if you purchase the dinner each additional piece is $1. We did not need refills! read more

We stopped in during a drive from up North hoping to get a glimpse of the lake, decided to grab a bite to eat and we were not disappointed. The cheese pretzel was amazing and piping hot and the owners were super nice. They gave us a tip to stop at Wilson's Cheese Shoppe, which was great as well. The absolute worst place I have ever been to. I ordered the grilled ham and cheese. It was a hunk of ham with a piece of American cheese that was barely warm. Uncle had fried scallops. I'm pretty sure they were spoiled or something. Girl had the burger I took a bite, wasn't right,was scared to eat anything else didn't feel like getting sick. Waitress was about as dumb as a box of rock, owner said she was selling bar comes with the cabin next door. I politely ask what's it going for? She said I had to call agent, because she wasn't allowed to tell. Your not allowed to tell what your property is listing for?? Hidden a ways off the main highway and right on the Saginaw Bay sits Whites Beach Tavern nestled so close to the water you feel the mist hit you in the face. It's a true tavern and not a restaurant. Some reviewers give the impression that this is a restaurant/bar, but it's clearly a bar. My visit was midday looking just for lunch. So many good comments on their walleye that this was the choice. However, fish is only served on Friday. Don't make a special trip during the week if this is what you're looking forward to eating. What you get is strictly deep fried seafood and appetizer selections at higher than average prices. My food arrived after a long wait and was burnt. The owner and server (same person) simply commented that she hoped it wasn't too overdone. No offers to recook the items. Keep in mind that at this time, I'm the only patron. Food quality gets 1 star. During the entire visit the owners were bickering in the general area. This went on to bickering with a food vendor, all in open space. This is classless and gets 0 stars. The appeal and location of the bar was great, 5 stars. Service was practically non-existent, 2 stars. 3 stars overall, and that's being generous. read more

Excellent fish fry. We arrived prior to 4:00 pm and were told they didn't serve until 4:30, so took a short sightseeing drive. Arrived back after 4:30 and there were several customers who'd been served already and we saw the food was going to be good! I can only say that this place is a straight up Dive, but I loved it so much!! I drove the whole family 110 miles to get to this place.(My son had eaten there last year and raved about this place.) On Friday's they have an All you Can Eat Walleye fish fry!! We walked into the place and were immediately greeted by an old fella sitting at the bar. Come to find out he was the owner. We took our seats and orders were taken. The owner walked over to the jukebox and started playing some solid gold country music. Perfect! Our meals came out all at the same time about 8 minutes later. I really thought that they were gonna serve us food that was from under a warmer. Nope! Everyone's walleye was piping hot and fresh. Our dinner included coleslaw, a dinner roll, fries, and all the succulent fresh walleye you could eat. I was simply in heaven as it was THE BEST fish fry I had ever had.
