A couple months back i went to two different locations for consultation for Laser Eye surgery. I choose to go with LasikPlus in oak brook due to the attention to detail during the consultation. The staff was more informative than my other consultation at a competitors location. The staff at LasikPlus took the time to do a full eye exam and again the whole consultation process was much more informative than the competitor. Lasik plus was able to inform me of my astigmatism, thickness of my eyes, etc where as the competitor did not explain any of this. In addition to that, they slowed the whole consultation down and truly treated me as a customer even though i had yet decided to get the procedure through LasikPlus. The hospitality was very professional. Upon consultation, booking was very easy, i was even able to save some $$ by booking the day of my consultation!! The competitor was unable to do so. They went over payment plans that were available as well. Fast forward to the week of surgery. I received confirmation calls and updates from the staff, who i might add are very sweet and nice! They also have a sense of humor which is great considering i was nervous for the procedure. The doctor who screened me before surgery was super helpful in answering each and every one of my questions. He gave me a little pep talk to get me ready to get perfect vision. He doubled checked my eye sights and made sure the numbers they had were accurate. (When your spending money on a procedure, it's very relieving to see the company cross their t's and dot their I's to make sure everything they have is accurate) ( the same doctor who saw me before surgery, also saw me the day after surgery) Dr Alan greeted me with a smile in the procedure room. Explained what would happen and even gave me a little stuffed animal to grasp as the surgery took place. It may not seem like much, but it brought me comfort during the procedure. His years of experience was totally on display as he spoke to me through the whole procedure, telling me what he was going to do now, then and later. I was in and out of the procedure room in less than 10 minutes. Post surgery : following day i woke up literally feeling 100%. I was able to drive to the follow up. The staff recognized my face, welcomed me and checked their work. Turns out, everything is looking great. My eyes feel fine, my vision is great, it's literally a instant change to your life. The doctor said my eye sight is actually better than 20/20 which i am so thrilled to hear. I have slight redness in my eyes, but they feel completely fine. Extras : the office is very nice. Coffee and snacks are available. It's the little things that matter. LasikPlus includes your pre surgery, the actual surgery, and follow up all in the same building. The competitors have you go to different eye doctors for the follow up, which makes no sense to me why you would have to go to a doctor who didn't perform the surgery, to check and see how the surgery is healing. The price at LasikPlus includes everything from start to finish, AND A LIFETIME WARRANTY (if you come to your follow ups that are recommended by LasikPlus) My advice: do not waste another day "wanting" the surgery. Just do it. Yes it's scary but the results are 150% worth it. Follow their instructions on how to handle post treatment, eye drop use, and what you should and shouldn't be doing following the surgery. The staff informed me of the proper post treatment and like i said day 2, i feel 100%. I've wanted this surgery for over 5 years. I had astigmatism and all. The best decision was making that first call to set up the consultation. I would highly recommend this place to anyone with glasses or contacts. It's been 15 years since I've been able to wake up in the morning, look at the alarm clock, and be able to read what time it is. Everyone at this center is very nice and welcoming. They make sure you know what you're getting yourself into. Just make sure to read the consent forms, it tells you everything you need to know. The whole process is painless but if your eye openings are smaller, it might hurt a little when the doctor inserts the ring in your eye. The worst part of this whole experience was it was soooo cold in the surgery room. If you go during a summer day, try to wear a cardigan and longer pants. I was still shivering after they gave me a blanket. Overall, it was totally worth it and my world has never been more clear. read more

I decided to go to Lasik Plus after reading up on the most advanced lasers and lasik techniques. I also had a consult at TLC but Lasik Plus had better lasers ( in my opinion) great reviews and a lower price. The staff was helpful and extremely efficient. They get a lot of patients through that office every day. They let me know what to expect and the procedure was pretty easy. The absolute worst part was the spreaders that put on your eyes during the procedure but that only lasts a minute or so. It's really important to get a lot of sleep and follow the directions about the eye drops carefully. I was really happy with Dr. Horn, the procedure and the results. I opted for the mono vision and it has been really great. The mono vision took a little longer to get used to (a couple of weeks) but now I am 3 months out and all my friends are jealous that I don't need readers! read more

I scheduled a Lasik consultation and the day before I was scheduled to go they called me and told me I had to reschedule. I spoke to 3 different people and they all told me different reasons why my appointment was cancelled. I'm guessing they just double booked the time slot and gave it to someone else. I already made arrangements to have the day off so I did not want to reschedule. I ended up going to the the Lasik Vision Institute and had a much better experience. Honestly they don't even deserve any stars. Here I am back again on Yelp because this is the only way they will communicate back with me. I got lasik done at the Schaumburg location on June 20th, 2019. Within a couple of months my eyes regressed & it took me FOREVER to get another appointment for them to check my eyes- and let me be clear Covid wasn't a thing at this time so there were no excuses as to why it should have taken forever to have them just CALL me back. Fast forward, I finally got into the oak brook location to get my eyes checked and see if I was eligible to get an enhancement. They told me I was eligible but needed to get PRK- why? I don't know. They couldn't tell me. Since they told me this recovery was going to be way longer and more intense, I told them I would want to do this procedure over my winger break, since I am a teacher. I left that appointment which was on June 2nd and I have been trying to reach them and NOTHING. I've tried calling multiple times and left multiple voicemails, but still have not heard from them. I am so disappointed in this company and would not recommend them to ANYONE. Please save yourself the money and the hassle and do not come here. read more

I had my LASIK procedure yesterday afternoon with Dr. Horn and I am absolutely astonished with the results so far! Dr. Horn had been recommended by several people I know who had the procedure done, and I have to say that I'm glad I listened. I figured I would wait until my 30 day follow up to write this review. To say I am extremely happy with Dr. Horn and his staff is an understatement. History, I'm 49, eyes were 5.75 and 6.25 (Yes I was pretty blind) wore soft contacts since I was 14 because I could not stand glasses. I have wanted this surgery for a long time. This is not for everyone but my eyes were a perfect candidate. The whole procedure was quick and easy and Dr. Horn talks you thru every step so you know exactly whats going on. Dr. Horn was AMAZING! He explained everything during the procedure, which was really quick and pain free. I was having some issues with my right eye and Dr. Ubhi noticed there was a wrinkle in the lens. Not sure how it happened, but Dr. Horn fixed it the next day and was equally Amazing. The people here are all so nice and have great senses of humor and amazing personalities to put your mind at ease.I had originally looked into a different lasik provider but after visiting Lasik Plus on my first consultation I knew this was where I wanted to go for my lasik. The people made me feel so at ease and were all fun to talk to! The personalities here are something the world needs more of. I was extremely nervous for my procedure and when I got in under the laser it only got worse. I'm an anxious person normally so I was freaking out. Doctor horn and the nurses talked me through the whole thing. They didnt use too much detail just told me what to do and continuously told me i was doing so great! They even allowed me to borrow their Henry through the procedure which helped A LOT. [sorry I squished him so much.] I had discomfort after the procedure for the first few hours but the lubricating drops and sleep helped A LOT. My mother's appointments have been cancelled 3x! Without any prior notice. During her last one, when she was finally able to get in, we were told that she would have an interpreter to help out since english isn't her first language. She shows up and they say no one there is able to translate. During times of COVID, where she is limiting her activity, it's very disappointing to see this level of service. read more

As someone who is very squirmish when it comes to their eyes, I recommend following through with the procedure and not letting fear or discomfort get in the way of life-changing results and one of the best decisions that you can make for yourself. Will most likely do a follow up review as this review is day 2 after having Lasik. I did a lot of research beforehand in understanding what is lasik and what is happening. I obviously can't say this is the exact procedure for everyone, but for me I made an appointment 2 weeks ago for a consultation. They tested my eyes to measure whether or not I was in the appropriate range. To make sure I didn't have too thin of cornea/lens I think it was about 460 was the minimum and I was above that so it was okay. You will be meeting with a ophthalmologist and not the surgeon (Dr. Horn in my case). They will answer all your questions that you have and worries. They will then go over the costs of the procedure and which one you are eligible for. I was eligible for the lasik plus the three laser procedure. They also show you a video that explains lasik. For the discount from them you have to come in within 2 weeks of your consultation so keep that in mind. The folder they gave me had most of all the papers to sign. Read them over and pre initialed. I set up my appointment for 2 PM and then when I came in I waited for about 20-30 min and they called my name and went up I and went through all of the paperwork and made sure it was in order. The thing I would wish in that aspect was during each section just rehash a basic overview of each section one last time before signing. Ie this is just consenting this is an elective procedure and as a result this has a chance of not working etc etc due to age or other issues regardless of how slim they are to occur. Then I sat for another long while and I had asked for a recheck on my vision before having the procedure so it was a different ophthalmologist than the first time, but he rechecked my visions really making sure. Then once I was all good I went back out again and sat. IN the time I was waiting I was given a card with a link that Dr. Horn explained how to take care of your eyes and why it's important. I also did a lid wipe after having my vision rechecked. Then a nice young lady came out game me medications (I opted in for xanax which will calm you down) and put a sticker on my shoulder indicating which eye was being treated. Then when it was finally my turn they prepped me with eye drops and how to take them as well as a nice little hair nets for my head with some gauze pads. I was able to leave my things in the prep room. Then I sat in the chair outside the OR/procedure room. In about 5-10 min I was brought in met by Dr. Horn and we went in he asked me if I had any other questions. They gave me a breakdown of the procedure. There were two chairs. The first chair I went in I was given tons of eye drops and prep, but thats mostly because I forgot what they said they were going to do(sorry). Then I got up and went to the other machine, which I laid down in. They you stare at a little green dot that eventually turns into a little green dot. Then I am assuming the lid goes back because the world went blurry. The little dot turns into a big fuzzy circle. Your prescription was called out how long the laser was going to work for. Keep trying to focus on the dot is hard and it goes dark I smelled a bit of burning then the dots back he is wiping my eye or centering the lid. Then takes out the thing securing my eye and that was it. Done for both eyes. Overall I was there for about 2 to 2-1/2 hours. Went home took my eye drops took a nap for 2-1/2 hours then woke up for about 20-30 min put in drops to keep eyes wet. Then went to bed and luckily was able to have post op check up the next day to see the healing. It took about 10 min and here I am writing my review. They did a wonderful job and if you are on the fence about it. I would do all the research you can. I can't guarantee the outcome will be the same as we are all in different situations, but if you do the research and come in with lots of questions. They will answer you honestly about everything. Oh I went from -3.25 and -3.45 to 20/15 vision. I hope this helps all! read more

I came to LasikPlus after seeing an ad on YouTube and speaking with a friend who came here a few years ago. To be honest, I wasn't sure what to expect. A few friends have had LASIK and they had no complaints, but my eyes are hypersensitive. I was blown away by the kind and professional staff at this office. I just had my Lasik treatment with Dr. Horn this past Saturday (1/27/18). It's now Monday, and I'm seeing better than I ever did with contacts and almost as well as I saw with glasses. I was told my vision could take a few days or weeks to stabilize but honestly, if it stayed like this forever I'd still be thrilled with my results. I wanted to write a long review to detail my experience, as these reviews were super helpful when I was contemplating Lasik. The tl;dr is that this office is a great place with super nice and competent staff, and I am extremely pleased with the results of my procedure. My consultation was about a month and a half before my surgery and was super easy. I went after work and was in and out in about an hour with a surgery scheduled and a folder full of information to read beforehand. Everyone I met with was very nice but also very efficient - it was clear they're good at what they do and it made me feel confident in getting my treatment done there. I was surprised at how quickly they were able to schedule me - I could have had my treatment done that Saturday but elected to wait until after the new year so I could use my FSA funds. The actual treatment was a breeze. I had the first surgery of the day, at 7:40am on a Saturday, and was there for about 1.5 hours total. The actual surgery itself is maybe 10 minutes and very easy. Everyone made me feel comfortable and before I even had a chance to be nervous it was over. They have a stuffed animal for you to hold but I actually brought my own, and they didn't make me feel like a baby for it. The longest part of the treatment was actually waiting for the numbing drops to take effect. Once that was done, they put a ring over your eye, which makes your vision go dark, but before you even have time to register how weird it is it's over and they're leading you over to the actual laser table. That part was even quicker, and they just tape your eye open so it isn't as uncomfortable. The worst part is the smell, which kind of smells like getting a cavity drilled at the dentist. Try not to think about it. Three days after the procedure and I'm seeing 20/20 in my left eye and slightly worse in my right. I had a high prescription with astigmatism in my right eye. As long as you follow the drops regiment and are careful about touching your eyes, the recovery is very easy. I highly recommend Lasik and I especially recommend getting it done here. read more

Do NOT do business with this place! If your vision needs any kind of correction afterward, even if you pay for the lifetime guarantee, you will NOT be a priority to them. They care about new patients and new money. I first looked into an enhancement procedure in August. It was less than a year after my initial surgery. It is December now and I STILL have not gotten the vision correction done. I have headaches and cannot see clearly or sharply far away when I am driving or in my own classroom. Nobody cares. I have jumped through every hoop they have asked me to, getting both an exam at Walmart per their requirement, and then another one through them, which cost me additional money. I guess the thousands that I paid them already did not matter. I was told that I would be put on the December calendar for an enhancement. Nope, no appointment. I have tried to call multiple times and am continually told either that the medical staff cannot talk to me or that the medical staff will call me when they are ready to schedule me. It's absurd, ridiculous, and a complete rip off. I filed a complaint today also with the Better Business Bureau. This place doesn't deserve to be in business. Their lack of empathy is disgusting. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE if you want your vision corrected. read more

I got my initial procedure back in June, 2 weeks prior to going on vacation, as i was told I would get a discount if i got it done the following week. I was not made aware of the aftercare details until the day of the procedure. Had I known the details prior I would have waited until coming back to get it done. Needless to say, the procedure was not 100% successful and I had to wait 3 months to schedule my enhancement procedure. I confirmed my appt 2 days before and the day of had to take an Uber there, only to be told all procedures had been cancelled and I had been notified, which I was not. I then ubered back home with no rescheduled appt as they would call me to do so. I am extremely disappointed with the whole experience and just hope they are able to deliver and that I will able to see clearly as I spent a good amount of money at this point. read more

One star off because it as emphasized that I would most likely be able to be back at work in the next couple days which was not the case. I had my procedure here last Friday (i'm now about a week out), and while the procedure itself was painless and the appointment was smooth, I've been pretty disappointed with the results so far. A week in, and I still can't see anything clearly that's more than 10 feet out. It almost feels like I'm wearing a dirty contact all the time. I've been told to wait a month to allow my eyes to heal, but I was not expecting to see this badly still. I can barely drive since I can't read any street signs. On the plus side I don't have much glare or halos in the dark. I wanted to include my experience here since almost all the other reviews seem to focus on being able to see crystal clear right from the next day. While a majority may be able to do that, it isn't fair to raise everyone's expectations to that. read more

This may be a long review, but rest assured, I can tell you it's worth it. Please take my advice within. Many years ago I was the typical kid wearing glasses and eventually switching to contacts. I decided to get out of contacts near the end of my college years due to riding motorcycles a lot and seeing some track time, the dust and debris would often irritate my eyes and I found that to be extremely cumbersome. So back on the glasses went.. Working in an office and having a fairly dynamic second job as well, wearing glasses for me weren't always the best of what the environment set me up for; oftentimes my eyes would end up straining and would leave me feeling at the end of the work day, more exhausted than usual. - Fast Forward - About 6 months ago I decided to ask around, research and call up a few places that offered the LASIK program, I scoured Angie's List, Yelp, Google Reviews, you name it; I was there reading and reading. I narrowed it down to two places nearby that were within blocks of each other, LASIK Plus here off of Butterfield by Doctor Horn, and then another LASIK program available at the intersection of Route 83 and 22nd across the street from my office. While gathering even further intel about both of these locations, I stumbled across a company called QualSight LASIK - and when I called in to inquire, the staff there were extremely helpful and even gave me open pricing as to what they offered along with their various services and programs. Very neat and nice of them, I would highly recommend this place as well. The reason why I ended up going LASIK Plus here in Oak Brook was for the following reasons: 1. I personally never knew of anyone that did QualSight LASIK, which isn't a bad thing, but just due to myself never hearing about them, I wanted to stick with what I knew through word of mouth. 2. The location next to my office was a close second but their prices seemed a little higher which leads me to number 3.. 3. Price - when I scheduled my complimentary consultation, I was promptly greeted, seated and I had to fill out a form. After waiting about 15 minutes, I was called in for an actual full diagnostic of my eyes to verify I was still a candidate - which I was (I found out I developed a slight astigmatism over the years). When I sat down with the consult, he explained to me my options, which consisted of two programs with two separate warranties - left them both up to me on which to choose, no pressure at all. At the end of the day, I knew exactly out the door what I would be paying. I decided to set my appointment then and there for the following week. PLEASE NOTE, they do offer financing options, I paid for this out of pocket as I am the kind of guy that pays with what he has. Once setting the appointment, they notified me I had to go to the drugstore to pick up prescription antibiotics and steroid drops - which were to be used immediately (instructions provided) after the operation, as well as medicine to calm you down prior to the operation (to lower any anxiety should you have any) - Fast Forward - The day of the operation when you go in, you'll sign in, wait, and be seated in the middle of the entire suite along with everyone else there that is waiting for the LASIK procedure. There, one of the staff will give you an iPad or similar accessory that plays an informative video on what you should expect with the LASIK procedure. They will also make you take one of the anti-anxiety meds that you picked up from the drugstore. Depending on how many people are in waiting for their procedures, this period of time can vary between 15 minutes to 1 hour (FYI). Prior to going in to your actual procedure, you will meet with Dr. Horn or the specialist whom will inform you what to do immediately the surgery such as the drops, how to do them, how often, etc.. and will answer any questions or concerns you may have. You will also receive Dr. Horn's cell for you to text him. - The Procedure - Completely painless, however I will be quick to note that they place a bracket over your eye to keep them open which doesn't hurt, but it puts a slight pressure on your eyeballs, which isn't discomforting at all, just different. The procedure per eye takes under 30 seconds, just look into the red dot as straight as you can without blinking. VOILA. Done. - After Procedure - You are given goggles to wear which look like goofy science/snowboarding goggles. You MUST wear these all day afterwards for one of two reasons: 1. I am one-day postop and I'm kicking myself in the butt of why it took me so long to do this. amazing and life-changing experience. Dr. Horn and his staff were so friendly and so comforting and talked me through every step of the procedure and a control freak like myself needed that reassurance. having someone touch your eyes is no easy thing but here at Lasik plus they put my mind at ease and now I can SEE. Only critique I would have is that the comfort stuff animal they give you to hold while you're getting your procedure done is too small I would loved a life sized one lol. UPDATE: 1 year -- still 100% satisfied. No issues. Perfect vision. ******** So I finally took the plunge and got LASIK treatment. I did a fair amount of research (these are your only eyes, you owe it to yourself to do the research). I read from many sources about positive reviews of Dr. Horn and the staff there. Once I was convinced I wanted to move forward I scheduled my initial screening. Initial screening took a little loner than I expected. I was at the facility for about an hour and a half, so plan accordingly. That went well. They provided a lot of information and answered my questions. We scheduled my procedure then and I opted for the waveform laser procedure (more expensive, but most advanced). When I went in for the procedure the staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Horn was professional and with his experience (nearly 60,000 procedures performed) I had confidence in him, but was still a little nervous. The process proceeded smoothly. Drops in eyes to numb and prep for laser procedure. Several minutes later it's done. One last check of eyes. Take some meds. Final review of next steps, follow ups, and meds schedule. You need a driver post op, so I pretty much slept all the way home. As recommended and with the help of some Ambien I slept rest of day (procedure was done about 3pm) and night only waking for dinner (eyesight was already good, but definitely some halo. When I got up in the morning I could already see excellent. Dr. Horn texted to check on me, which I thought was a nice follow up touch. Then I had follow up appointment mid-morning. I drove myself and was pretty much thinking if this is the best my vision gets I am already highly satisfied. I did/do have some halo, but it has lessened already. At this point it is relatively minor and is suppose to diminish and go away over time. At follow up that next morning my vision was 20/20 even though the expectation is sight will improve for several days as healing occurs especially when your vision was as bad as mine was. It's two days since procedure and I am extremely satisfied. I have been following all the post op steps in regards to drops and meds. I haven't had a real issue with dry eye, but I am doing the artificial tears regularly so not giving it the chance to be a problem. All in all extremely satisfied. As they say this is a transformative procedure. No glasses. No contacts. Wake up and can just see great. It is awesome. read more

Excellent experience!!! Took my son for his 18th birthday present. The staff was all very friendly and answered any questions we had. They were so thorough with everything however that there weren't many questions we had. Our appointment was scheduled for 8:30. They checked us in right away and we hardly had any wait before the exam. Once the exam was complete we waited about 5 minutes for the dr to do his exam and to find out of my son was a candidate. Once it was determined that he was, we finalized the appointment by coming back only an hour and a half later and did the actual surgery. Same day sugary was great and I would highly recommend that to anyone! They made my son feel very comfortable and put any anxiety he had to rest. Surgery took about 15 minutes and we were released to go. If you are looking for a dr for lasik, I would highly recommend lasik plus. We had a great experience. Thank you all so much!!! read more

At first, I was extremely nervous but my caretakers were very sweet and assured me I'd be ok and gave me my proper medications before the procedure. Before the procedure, Dr. Horn came and gave me a brief intro and took me back to the room. From there, I laid down, he gave me a stuffed pillow to hold - which I swear helped my anxiety so much- and walked me thru everything he did. I was very nervous to have the procedure done. I went to my consultation and felt like Lasik Plus was the right choice for this surgery. Everyone was extremely nice and took the time to answer any questions I had. They were a little pushy to schedule the actual surgery date but you have to remember they are a business and are looking to be competitive just like everyone else. The day of surgery was a breeze. I didn't have to wait very long and Dr. Horn came across as a very real person, very personable, and comforting. So far, I can see as good as I could with contacts. If not better. I do have some halos and glaring at night, but I expected it. When I wake up in the morning, my eyes are extremely dry but the center provides prescriptions for multiple drops in order to help with it. All in all I'm extremely pleased and would recommend LASIK plus to anyone wanting to have this procedure. read more

Had my Lasik procedure yesterday. I had really bad vision, -8 both eyes. Dr. Horn made the procedure as easy as it could have been, he exudes confidence. Yesterday I had some pretty significant discomfort, but it lessened as the day went on. Woke up today significantly better, just a light haze. Fantastic experience from consultation to post op check up. This center has their act together with a group of professionals all geared to helping you make the right decision. When I went in for my consultation I was admittedly disappointed in the price, I was expecting something lower based on advertised specials. I did not jump at the opportunity to schedule a procedure right away and the staff did not apply any pressure. I went home and did more research and learned that yes, the procedure really does cost that much when you have have poor vision like me. I called in to make an appointment and they still honored the discount for making an immediate appointment. The service was great on procedure day, very good take home directions and I am seeing fantastic now. Expect a lot of e-mails and texts, they like to keep in touch. read more
