This place was raved about by a friend, it gets 3 stars for service alone. And that might even be a little generous. Our waiter was really nice, very personable. But we had to wait for utensils before we could eat, and we never did get a refill on water. If it weren't for the awesome waiter, the food would get 2 stars, maybe even just 1. It had little to no flavor. My friend had the burrito with chicken and "melted cheese" (processed cheese product, not shredded cheddar). And It filled most of the plate. My chimichanga was a third the size despite being the same price. I don't know how they cooked it but it was not deep fried. And had nothing but some shredded lettuce and a slice of tomato on it. There was no spice to any of it. No flavor of any kind. I never eat the Spanish rice that comes with the meal but this was the only part I enjoyed. And for all that we paid around $40 each. I'm going to tell the person who recommended this place to not drink so many margaritas next time. read more

The food is always good here! And all the staff is super friendly even when they're busy! One of my favorite parts is that the drinks are always strong. Average Mexican restaurant with the usual dishes to appeal to folks who miss Chi Chis. The high spots: chips and salsa served before your meal. Lots of cilantro in the sauce to flavor the lightly salted tortilla chips. Service was also terrific--quick, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. Las Margaritas is a bright, cheery spot for families, groups and couples with a bar separate from the dining room. The low spots: Average everything else. Chimichangas were deep fried but delivered with no crispness. The beef tasted exactly like hamburger cooked with the 50-center packet of taco mix from any supermarket. Flautas were similar. Dinners included retried beans--which tasted the same as your grocer's canned brand, Spanish rice, and the obligatory flag salad. Went here on Sunday afternoon for a late lunch.The place was kind of busy but the service was very attentive. I appreciated the server letting me know that the soft drink machine was broken. She graciously offered me a canned Dr.Pepper but I opted for water. I don't come here very often but I always forget that I'm not that fond of their "flour" tortillas. They aren't bad but they taste more like cornmeal, so it was a little disappointing. However the service was enough to entice me to return. read more

Probably not something to travel far for, but if you're local, Las Margaritas is solid. This place feels like home and it makes me happy. Food: Mostly more Americanized Mexican fare, with a sprinkling of more traditional offerings. Big portions, free chips and salsa, and great flavors. I always end up getting the chicken en mole poblano: the sauce is delightfully rich with all the desired notes of chocolate, bananas, peppers, etc. Highly recommended. Great for takeout too! Service: Warm and friendly. I've been seeing some of the same staff for years, and they always check up on you. Ambience and Decor: It has that Spanish tile, papier mache parrots, and brightly colored wooden chairs thing going on. The day was long and we were hungry. Mexican food sounded good so we thought we'd try this place. There weren't many people inside the restaurant despite the 7-10 cars in the lot. Maybe folks park there and take the bus elsewhere? I wasn't sure. There was no one at the front host area so we continued into the dining room. A server instructed us to sit where ever we wanted. After assessing the fixed tables and weirdly low booths, we opted for the table and chair option. Regrettably there was a downside to the chairs: they felt too tall and I had to bend over to reach the table. I'm 5'8", if that matters. We made it in time for their lunch menu. I chose their carne asada plate and she went with one of the combination with two enchiladas, extra beans, and no rice. I asked for some spicier salsa and they brought me a tastier version of the regular salsa with way more pepper flakes! The carne asada was pounded too thin and overcooked. The rice and beans were standard, nothing special. I was excited to see cebollitas on my platter but disappointed when I bit into mushy, overdone onions. My MIL enjoyed her enchiladas but called her meal "unchallenging taste-wise" which was a fair assessment of both entrées. Toward the bar side, there was a group of loud men watching the baseball game. They were constantly asking the server to bring them this or that, in one of those dismissive manners that translates into "never worked a service job", if you know what I mean. Our server was hard to flag down and overall, not that friendly. I doubt that I would return. There was a strange feeling to the place. Las Margaritas was surprisingly busy when we went on a Monday evening. The atmosphere was the generic Mexican restaurant style, on par with most others. This place did feel a little dirty and rundown to me, though, compared to some others I've been to. I think refried beans and salsa are the best litmus tests for Mexican food places. If they're made in house and they're tasty, in my experience, that says good things about the place. And the opposite, likewise, usually bodes poorly. The chips were hot and the taste was fine. As for the salsa, I've had worse, but this stuff was thin (no chunks of tomato, onion, cilantro) and pretty bland. It was probably not made in house, and it needed more flavor. I ordered the carne asada, and my husband ordered an enchilada combo plate. The portions were gigantic, and the presentation was nice. The carne asada itself was delicious. The things served with it, like the rice, were fine but lackluster. My husband's enchiladas were just so-so, nothing special. My biggest complaint is that the refried beans were terrible. I'm a huge fan of refried beans, and bad ones can definitely ruin a restaurant for me. These beans had that distinctive taste that canned foods have. My husband and I both agreed that we would be shocked if the beans were not from a can. That's shameful. If I wanted canned beans, I'd eat at home. I've been here a few times with my boyfriend and in the past it was really great. Lovey servers, good food, and just a fun place. I don't know if ownership/management has changed but things went downhill severely. We went in today. I ordered a drink and my boyfriend ordered a chalupa. Our server didn't say a word to us, he just stood there. Thinking it could be a possible language barrier we just pointed to the menu of what we wanted. 15 minutes later a white couple shows up. The same server we had goes up to them and says hi can I get you anything to start? That couple got their food first and had staff conversing with them nicely. We get the chalupa to go and as we leave my boyfriend says thank you. Zero acknowledgment. He threw the food out because at that point who knows what they might've done to it. I hate to pull this card but it's very fitting. They are plain old racist. Never going back and I don't recommend if you aren't white. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars because the service is top notch if you are a regular. This has been my neighborhood restaurant for the last 6-7 years, and if you are looking for creative or original fare, you won't find it here... The ambiance is pretty standard, the menu is what you find in most Mexican restaurants, but you can always count on it being consistent. My suggestion is this: Go to the cantina, make friends with Miguel, and he'll remember you forever. He'll tell you what is good, he'll remember your drink, and he'll keep scuzzy guys from hitting on you if you are a girl. If you are a sports fan, they have several large TVs in the cantini as well. As far the foods goes, the servings are huge, and my friends and I have pretty much ordered everything on the menu at least once. For appys, you can't go wrong with the chicken taquito plate. For an entree, the California burrito, Carne Asada, Arroz Con Pollo, or Camarones ala Diabla have always been solid choices. I wouldn't take a first date here, but it is worth stopping by if you are in the north end, as there are very few quality places up here other than this one. Ole! read more

I've been coming to this Las Margarita's since 1993. Always good flavorful, but not too spicy and not authentic Mexican Food. The staff was always nice and the food was flavorful until now. I have ordered their food a couple of times during the pandemic and it was good until the food until yesterday. The food was very bland, nothing flavorful or vaguely Mexican about it. The salsa tasted just like tomato sauce and the rest of it was bland as well. But worse that that was the response I got when I called today to complain to the manager. The conversation started off friendly enough but when I asked them to go taste the salsa (for the third time) I was told that I'm not in charge there. I have been going here for many years my wife and I celebrated birthdays and anniversaries for us and our family. It's been a favorite. My wife and I went on Friday night at about 7pm for dinner. We were seated by a young male waiter. We were about to give our order and the waiter comes over and tells my wife she has lovely earrings in a rather flirty way. Now, my wife is pretty so normally I'm cool with it cause it's nice for her to get compliments and I'm flattered she's with me. However, when I'm paying $60.00 for dinner and this idiot is flirting with my wife, My family and I are never coming back. He's lucky that's all I'm doing. My wife was insulted, I was insulted. You can always smell this place from Aurora. I went there for the first time last and the staff is really nice and the food is pretty alright. It wasn't too busy in there so the service was pretty quick. They put a lot of cheese on the food though if you ask for cheese, so much it was kind of hard to chew up. The meat in my burrito was a little bit dry, and the rice doesn't have too much flavor. But the food was still good. We also got deep fried ice cream. It comes with whipped cream on top and strawberry and chocolate syrup. The bathrooms aren't too nice, but just a random heads up that in the handicap stall the toilet seat covers are way high up on the wall which is really random but also doesn't make sense lol. read more

Ordered a steak salad and the only good thing was they weren't using romaine. The steak was cooked pretty well and seasoned well but the rest was a mess. Over-grilled asparagus spears on the side, beans on the corners and a tasteless vinaigrette for dressing. The hostess/waitress loudly talked on her cell phone in the booth next to me and shouted across the restaurant to her other coworker. Oh, and most of the time she was singing quite audibly when she wasn't on the phone. I got up to pay and she followed me to the counter STILL talking on her phone to ring me up. I haven't been in a Las Margaritas in a long time. I've tried recently, and somehow Delilah and I were always trying to come here when they were closed. We should have stuck with that being a sign to just not come here...ever. The decor is a hodge podge of half remodels over the years. Or at least I hope so, if this was on purpose...wow. The service was spotty at best. They were heavily staffed, but you'd be hard pressed to find anyone if you needed service, and they couldn't seem to drop things and run from various tables, including ours, fast enough. All we wanted was to split some nachos and chill for a bit. They were awful. Soggy chips under a watery concoction of beans and ground beef, and almost nothing else. One olive. That's right. One whole olive in the center of the plate. I counted about 2 little onion dices and about a dozen sad little tomato dices. The only saving grace was the free chips in the basket were decent, so we could salvage the cheese nacho by nacho and have something to eat. The cheese was fabulous. Thick, melty and stringy, but with the total fail of everything else on the plate it was overall so disappointing. The 1/2 nacho appetizer is only $1 less than the full. I feel sorry for the schmuck that goes for that deal. Prices were naturally higher on everything since the last time I had graced a Las Margaritas, but my god, if you can't even make nachos........ read more

Where's the no star, star? I'd actually been here a few times but deliberately attempted to dine here with Riss J. on several occasions. We were all the way in Bothell when we decided we needed some grub in the tub and steered our way to Las Margaritas; excited, anxious and starving. Upon arrival, I had only one assumption: smells good so it's going to be good. This has sort of been my measure for what I put in my mouth. Well, it looks as if times are changin' and my ways are going to have to change with them. I'll never again judge a food by it's aroma. Ever. It's almost as if the salsa came in a can and the instructions read, "just add water". I swear it was one part salsa stuff and 1,975 parts water. We ordered the nachos and I almost didn't want to eat them. Everything was plain and bland. There was small dollop of both guac and sour cream and two olives. (Yes, I said two. Riss, I ate one when you took that phone call. I would have mentioned it right away but you were so adamant about only having one olive that it was amusing and well, I need cheap entertainment with this economy. There! I said it.)
