As others have said, it's a very modest place, but the food is great! Very generous serving of cecina! The rice and beans tasted just right. And you get hand-made tortillas! Help this small business out and pay with cash, if you can. The lady is very sweet and welcoming!

El trompo de aquí es lo mas parecido al trompo de Monterrey que he probado en Dallas. Trompo meat from here is the closest to the trompo from Monterrey that I've tried in Dallas.

Onion with a side of tacos trompo was flavorless, buche was okay, and the bistec was not seasoned at all. Green salsa was flavorless and red salsa was spicy, but too salty. The place was dead inside on a Friday afternoon about 1:30pm.

Loved this place so much I literally went back the next day. First of all the tacos here are so cheap at only $1 each. I went with the tompo and barbacoa tacos which were so good. The green and red sauces that they give you with the tacos compliment it the tacos sooo well. Idk how these tacos are only $1. The horchata here is also one of the best horchatas ive ever had. Can't recommend this place enough as it is easily the best tacos I've had in Dallas so far. Only draw back would be the location is kind of sketchy at night but it's still so worth it. Can't recommend this place enough

Not in a gas station, but in a strip mall sharing space with a check cashing place, so it's definitely got that "authentic" feel. Tacos are delicious, pupusas are fantastic, and I can't wait to try more of the menu.

Can't go wrong with $1 tacos!!!! I had the trompo tacos and a cheese pupusa. The trompo tacos were great! I got a nice mix of juicy meat along with bits of the seared outer layer. The pupusa was ok. The salsa for the pupusa had more flavor than the pupusa. The salsa for the tacos was so-so. They serve creamy salsa with the tacos. I'm not big on it bc sometimes it has that funky after taste (could be that it wasn't fresh ¯\_(ツ)_/¯). Overall it was a nice experience. The place was clean and the waitstaff was really nice. I'll be there again for the $1 tacos.

This is definitely my new favorite taco spot in Dallas. First off the tacos are $1, yes you read that right a freaking dollar! My wallet is already screaming hallelujah. They have a wide range of meats to choose from to put in your tacos and gorditas. I personally recommend the pastor and barbacoa they are super delish. They also serve pupusas which is kind of refreshing for an authentic Mexican joint. The owner is very nice and informative when is comes to describing the food. This place is definitely a diamond in the rough but I'd say It's a must try for taco enthusiasts

Look Tacos Tuesaday is not enough if you love tacos like i do. This place got $1 tacos. Don't let the price put you off and realize that at any moment this will change. Take advantage of the tacos splendour! Outstanding barbacoa and carnitas tacos. Comes with grilled onions and a pepper . It is not complicated food but so flippin good. I think they make their own hot sauces. One of these stars is just for that. Their tacos sauces are that good. The green is mild and the red burns exactly the way you want it. Clean and great service. The awesome guy who works their will explain anything you dont understand.

These are hands down the best tacos in Dallas and they are only $1! The trompo meat is amazing and I could drink the salsa verde on its own it is so good. Not to mention the have delicious pupusas and gringas. It's cash only so come prepared to eat your weight in these cheap tasty tacos.

Hole in the wall with decent trompo. Beans and rice were good, but nothing special. Red and green sauces were good. Good service.

Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

We hung out comfortably and had a couple of drinks before heading out. The food is amazing!! Obviously every dish is meat based here and it's cooked to perfection. Seasoned deliciously and very tender. The garlic mashed potatoes were smooth and tasty. We also ordered Chicharrónes and guac. I'll admit I was very skeptical about The Chicharrónes because they're either cooked right or they're not. They got it down here. Everything was cooked exceptionally well and delicious. 10/10 recommend. Food and drinks are great!

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
