If you want the driest, most bland and mediocre nachos, this is the place to go. The birria torta is as good, but the nachos and tacos were dry as can be. Imagine getting carne asada tacos and having the meat be hard, chewy, dry hunks of meat. The meat portion in the tacos was well represented but the texture and time spent cooking was less than sub par. The only taco I would recommend is the spicy chicken one. Maybe go here for drinks? Otherwise don't bother if you're looking for mediocre tex-mex / Mexican this doesn't come close to the bar. read more

Arrived at opening and made our way to the end of the bar. Paula took Fish Tacoscare of us and told us about the drink specials. We each ordered the rum runner special and it was delicious! It was made with a Simple Sips mixer called Lei'd Back, guava, orange, lime, and coconut. Both of us had fish tacos. We visited on a Wednesday night, which apparently is a popular time for Mexican food on the Cape. My wife and I were fortunate to find a table despite the bustling crowd. We were greeted promptly by a server and a trainee, both of whom were very friendly and welcoming. For our appetizer, we ordered the chips and red salsa. The chips were slightly warm, indicating their freshness, and were very tasty. The salsa was delicate and flavorful, perfectly complementing the crunchy chips. We quickly ordered our drinks: I chose water due to my thirst, while my wife opted for a coconut margarita. The drinks arrived promptly, and the margarita was particularly enjoyable, not overly sweet. For our main course, we ordered a pork torta and tacos with pork and pineapple. The food arrived quickly. The torta was accompanied by a salad that was exceptionally delicious, and the torta itself was both tasty and incredibly filling. My wife's tacos were equally delicious. We were so full by the end of our meal that we ordered churros to go. As for the ambiance, the restaurant was lovely. Great spot...our first time here and it certainly will not be our last time. We have been wanting to try it and it did not disappoint. As others have said, really amazing vibe, music list was fantastic. Definitely can see it as a "go-to" place for many. Ryan, our server, was wonderful. Food was pretty incredible. The tacos are fresh and very tasty. I've been several times and enjoyed them all. This is a "taco bar" ... so expect tacos and a bar with a few additions like wings. I don't make it to Orleans very often but so happy I went and checked out the new Taco bar! Service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Atmosphere is hip, absolutely need to check out the graffiti on the bathrooms Paula had great drink suggestions and helpful when trying to choose between the fried brussel sprouts or fish tacos. Spicy mango margarita was just the right amount of sweet & spice I was craving and I have to say they were the best fish tacos I have had on the cape! That's saying a lot since it's what I get every where I go. The fish portion to salsa ration was on point. If you haven't been yet you gotta check it out. First off, I installed yelp just to leave this review. I am also convinced that every one star reviewer has no taste buds and are over 90 years old if they dislike the style. Everything about this place is perfect. Mac was super nice and had great conversation with us, my parents loved the margaritas (my mom refuses to have margaritas anywhere but here). The artwork is very cool in my opinion and people who have left reviews saying otherwise are definitely modern art enjoyers. Not trying to be mean but when I saw that this place had anything less than five stars I was appalled. If you are in the area you NEED to go here, it is a must. Worst restaurant experience in my life (I'm over 70 y.o.) My wife & I both ordered fish tacos. The food, for both of us, was: served cold and had VERY little fish. We both I thought the best part of the meal was the jalapeno peppers; my wife thought it was the margarita. The sauce tasted BAD and there was blaring music. Whether you will enjoy your visit to Las Chidas depends on what you want or are expecting. If you're looking for a Margarita bar with an impressive selection of tequilas available, you will not be disappointed. Their cocktail menu includes many non-tequila drinks as well. And a decent beer selection, and of course soft drinks. The location is easily accessible - in a strip mall on Rte 6A - and service was awesome, friendly, prompt. Food was lackluster. I ordered the Taco Sampler with 1 each chicken, beef and pork tacos. Each had plenty of filling, but they were very bland. Worse, they all tasted the same. I could see a slight difference in the color and grain of the meat, but if I had been blindfolded, I would have sworn they were all the same. Not bad, just not very savory or tasty. Disappointing. Bottom line: if you're looking for a place to hang out and sip Margaritas and nosh on apps, go for it. If you're looking for good Mexican food, keep looking. read more

What a pleasant surprise! Stopped in for a quick snack in between breakfast and dinner. Bartender was pleasant and made delicious drinks. The nachos were amazing! Instead of putting a bunch of chips on a plate and throwing all the toppings on the pile, there were several layers of fixings in between the chips so that every chip had a little bit of everything on it. Had a late lunch here today and I have to say it was the best food I've had. I had the buffalo wings which were phenomenal. My friends each had different types of tacos all of which they were obsessed with. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with a great vibe. Will be coming here every year we come to the Cape! Really great Southern California-style tacos and a huge selection of tequila in a fun, West Coast, surfer shack atmosphere. My husband grew up in Ventura County and is super picky about his Mexican food and this place earned his golden seal of approval. It's a bit pricey for a little roadside taco shack but the quality makes it worth it. We started with an order of house made chips and a little bit of each type of salsa. (Not complimentary, you pay for all of that.) the verde was definitely the tastier choice. I had a non-alcoholic Paloma ($8) to drink, and it was excellent. The grapefruit juice was freshly squeezed into my glass right in front of me. My husband had one very strong margarita, quickly followed by another. We each enjoyed a taco sampler, which includes one carnitas taco, one barbacoa and one jerk chicken ($19, I think?). All three were great. We couldn't pick a favorite. The owner is friendly and very chatty. She told us that G-Love from G-Love and the Special Sauce painted their bathroom, which is an odd but interesting factoid. We aren't in that area very often but would recommend it to anyone who is. read more

Occasionally a new eatery comes along and pries open the established dining scene in a given community. Las Chidas embodies this avant-garde spirit. It is, in no specific order, a local epicenter of haute but fairly priced Mexican cuisine, a Key West cantina and an Australian outback drinking establishment with surprisingly trendy tunes. But this isn't some "Gimme a Foster's" joint.) For starters, the service is warm and doting. And their Margarita, a tart, hefty tide blending tequila, a tangy juice mix and lime, could be proudly featured at any of the above. Yet, perhaps because of its newness and various influences, Las Chidas is still searching for a durable core - including a culinary one. Consider the fish tacos. With more fish and less crust, their sweet corn shell could enfold an awesome blend of local fish, sauteed veggies and sauce - but it'll need work to stand out. And overall, given Las Chidas' location and rogueish vibe, for example, it might be fated as a slightly upscale dine-and-dash scene. On the other hand, why rush?Given the obvious care its cooks lavish on its signature black bean dish, for example, a generous bowl shared by both a saucy dollop of black beans and a denser refried cousin - or its perky red rice side, this site could even evolve into a more genteel setting where fine diners hang out, sip sangria and discuss the complexities of U.S. immigration policy and Chilean-American Isabel Allende's books. For that, however, the bathroom art, where Southwest expressionism meets Pancho Villa, and a booming soundtrack would have to be reconsidered. So who knows. read more
