Taco sampler: brisket, chicken and pork. I was stuffed!

Delicious! It's hard to find good Mexican food on the east coast, this place delivers! Great portions, guacamole and drinks are awesome too! The only thing I would add is a homemade verde salsa.

Rum Runner - A cold, orange-colored cocktail with ice cubes in a clear glass, garnished with a pineapple slice and a green leaf, placed on a dark napkin. The background includes a glass container filled with dried citrus slices and a wooden utensil holder, suggesting a bar or restaurant setting.

Arrived at opening and made our way to the end of the bar. Paula took Fish Tacoscare of us and told us about the drink specials. We each ordered the rum runner special and it was delicious! It was made with a Simple Sips mixer called Lei'd Back, guava, orange, lime, and coconut. Both of us had fish tacos. Three tacos each of fried cod, avocado crema, baja slaw, pineapple pico and jalapeños. Large pieces of cod, flavorful and perfectly cooked. We really enjoyed our meal.

Orleans Town Cove - The image shows a parking lot with marked parking spaces, including a designated handicapped spot, in the foreground. Beyond the lot, there is a grassy area leading to a body of water, likely a river, with trees along the shoreline. The sky is mostly clear with some scattered clouds, and power lines run across the top of the image.

Okay food, but overpriced. And they charge for chips and salsa. I'll stick to Anejo in Hyannis and Falmouth.

Not dog friendly anymore…read more We've come here a bunch of times with our dog and would be able to sit outside and have a few drinks. We always had a pleasant experience and respected the rules of the brewery to stay outside with our dog. Yesterday, we came by around 3 p.m. and it was relatively quiet with lots of empty seating outside. When we went to sit at a table, a waitress told us they had a designated dog area to the side at two broken tables in the sun and that we could not sit at any of the shaded tables. She also told us we could not order food with our dog there. We asked if we could move an umbrella over so we wouldn't have to sit in the sun--the waitress said she would ask and then never came back. When we realized no one was going to help, we asked a second time and were told there was no way to give us shade, so we left. It was disappointing as we liked coming here but it felt like they were deliberately trying to make dog owners uncomfortable and unwelcome. I'd recommend going elsewhere if you are looking for a relaxing afternoon at a brewery.

After graduating from high school, he realized the difficulties of finding success on the Cape so he decided to enroll at Hartwick College in upstate New York. Gallant soon became homesick and decided to move right back to the Cape after graduating. He had worked in the restaurant business since he was 14: starting out as a dishwater and eventually moving into management positions. He soon realized that the only way that he would be successful in this industry was if he was his own boss. He found a restaurant space in North Eastham that was previously home to Rick's Outer Bar and completely remodeled it. All of the dishes on Local Break's menu are crafted with fresh, local ingredients. The bar also has an impressive list of local craft beers on tap. Unlike many Cape Cod restaurants that close down during the colder months, Local Break is open year-round. My extended family and I visited Local Break this past August during our week-long trip to the Cape. The restaurant was right down the street from our Airbnb and we had heard good things. We enjoyed the nautical decor and the staff were friendly and helpful. For cocktails, my wife had the "Strawberry Peach Lemonade" (Deep Eddy peach vodka, strawberry purée, lemonade, fresh lemon) and I had the "Woodford Reserve Maple Old Fashion" (muddled cherry, orange, maple simple syrup, Angostura bitters, Woodford Reserve Bourbon, splash of water, ice). Both were very flavorful! Among our whole party, the entrees we ordered were the "Pulled BBQ Chicken Sandwich" (pulled baked BBQ chicken served on a Kaiser roll, topped with fried onion rings and coleslaw), the "Romesco Fish Sandwich" (fried cod with house made Romesco sauce, lettuce, pickles), the "Hot Chicken Sandwich" (crispy fried chicken thigh, sweet pickles, house made coleslaw, brown sugar-hot sauce, Kaiser bun), the "Po' Boy" (beer battered fried shrimp, baby greens, tomato, chili garlic mayo, baguettini) and the "Kid's Tenders". Everyone really liked their food! I really liked my Po' Boy which went great with some sweet potato fries and Cajun maple dipping sauce! We would definitely stop at Local Break again on a future trip to the Cape!

From the outside gravel lot and simple string white lights, honestly, even from outside, you'd swear this was just another casual flip-flop Cape spot. The energy is pumping, the crowd is spilling onto the patio and the bar area might seem as it could double as a summer beach club. Inside, though, the navy and white style keeps things crisp, nautical and just slightly elevated enough without trying too hard. It's relaxed, but you can feel there's something more beneath the surface. Even with our res, we waited a bit- which wasn't a problem. Once we were seated, the service snaps into a bit casual/a bit fine-dining gear- it's attentive but not stuffy. Caroline's menu is where the "casual" mask fully drops. It's Cape Cod, so of course oysters are a must- cold, briny and perfect. Then the main plates push things a little higher: my halibut was cooked to perfection, was meaty and silky. My husband's linguine+clams was another hit- garlicky and decadent without being heavy. And the grand finale of them all was our dessert. I initially opted out of their chocolate pot de crème- but I gave in as their only chocolate item. I'm so happy we ordered it. Except, I misread the toasted marshmallow part in our dessert. I removed it and placed it on another plate. This so-called pots de crème had nothing custardy about it. It had the shape alright- but this was so freaking moussey- it was ultra heavenly. Our server Megan was a sweetheart from beginning to end. Caroline's is the kind of place that kind of says 'laid-back'- but the presentation, meal and pricing, all scream as your go-to destination that's a step-up from the ordinary. Obviously you aren't wearing your sequins dress here- but if Caroline's gave you a wink, it would say: you thought this was just a casual night out? Think again.

We chose clam and corn fritters, halibut tacos and fish and chips. The fritters were so crunchy and flavorful. They came with two dipping sauces. My husband really enjoyed the beer battered fish. Fried well and golden brown. My tacos were with pan seared halibut. They had two sauces on them which was the only part of the food I did not enjoy. But they were well prepared and I'm sure others would like the sauces. My only complaint of the night was that our waitress wasn't friendly or attentive. She looked really put out by any changes we wanted to make. But we will definitely go again and try more things and enjoy the upbeat atmosphere!
