So happy to be back in Dennisport for the summertime. Although they're open all year, we only get to visit a couple times in the summer and the staff is amazing. I'm not a big beer drinker, but people in my group were pleasantly surprised they could order more than a mich ultra finally! The cocktails were city quality and the N.A. beverages didn't make anyone feel left out. I stuck to my basic post beach meal of a burger and I could go back for 12 more. I had a bite of the pretzels, fried pickles and fish and chips and would order those the next visit. Which will be soon! read more

Rudest waitresses I've ever met in my life. Restaurant is practically empty and they wanted nothing more than for us to leave. We were having trouble with their ATM and they continued to rudely talk about our table in front of our faces. They talked badly about us throughout our entire dinner. Including about what we ordered for food. I would understand them rushing us out but we were 1 of the 3 groups in the entire restaurant. Not a fun experience just trying to have a nice time with my friends. Maybe those girls need to learn customer service. Half of us also work at restaurants and are waitresses and I can promise you I would never treat people that way. read more

We decided to go here as the restaurant was close by, looked popular, and the menu was clear on which options were gluten-free, and we really wanted to try some fish and chips. Luckily they had gluten-free fish and chips. However, after waiting over an hour for our food, the fish and chips came out completely inedible. It was like they forgot it in the fryer or something. It was rock hard and the fish was completely soaked in oil. The server was very nice, and offered to take it off of our check or have the kitchen redo the order. We had it taken off of our check because of the extremely long wait and dissatisfaction with how it came out the first time. It's fish and chips, not ratatouille. The red pepper gnocchi was good, but definitely an appetizer size. The salad was a salad, thankfully it was edible. I want to give the restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but it was not busy, so I'm not exactly sure what happened in the kitchen. BEWARE! ANTS IN THE SALT SHAKER. This place & their manager should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. A group of 6 of us went in on a day for brunch where we were one of only 5 tables in the entire place. We were ready to spend money. It took over 30 minutes just to get one round of drinks, and our server did a horrendous job. He was visibly hungover and did not care. Didn't check on us once. When the food finally came out, 3 of the 6 plates were incredibly wrong. We had to actually go find the waiter (because he never checked on us), and ask for the manager. To top it all off, the salt shaker was full of small ants. We put the salt all over our food before realizing. The board of public health has been contacted. Nobody should ever eat here. We are locals, and we will never be back. The only redeeming quality was although the manager did have multiple excuses that he used, he was apologetic and comped the bill. None of us enjoyed the experience, and we will make sure to let everybody know how dysfunctional and unsanitary of an operation this is. The staff aren't even trained. Service was courteous and very aware of the need for gluten-free. Great atmosphere inside and an array of different groups. Pickles were excellent, and the chowder was much more delicate than anticipated with a nice difference . Fried fish was crisp for gluten-free could have used a bit more seasoning in the breading. I truly wish this review could reflect only the exceptional service provided by the waitresses and bartenders, whose grace under pressure and warm hospitality were nothing short of commendable. They are the saving grace of this establishment -- attentive, kind, and clearly committed to making guests feel welcome. Unfortunately, their excellence was completely overshadowed by the behavior of one individual: the bouncer. To call him unprofessional would be a disservice to the word. Tattooed, pierced, and pulsing with some misplaced sense of power, this man treated my friends and me with open hostility the moment we walked in. His demeanor was aggressive, his tone condescending, and worst of all, he casually and repeatedly took the Lord's name in vain -- loudly, for all to hear -- which I found not only offensive but wholly unnecessary. Whether or not one shares my beliefs, common decency should not be such a foreign concept to someone tasked with being the first face of your business. We weren't rude, we weren't belligerent, and we certainly didn't deserve to be met with disdain and thinly veiled contempt. His behavior was so shockingly out of line that it soured the entire experience -- and I say this as someone who rarely complains. He was a caricature of every bad bouncer stereotype rolled into one: drunk on authority, devoid of tact, and seemingly itching for conflict. To the owners: you have something special in your service staff. They deserve better representation at the door -- someone who reflects the same professionalism and hospitality they strive to provide. Until then, I won't be returning. Wonderful restaurant/ bar in Dennis. Great menu, something for everyone. Parmesean, truffle fries were good, lacking truffle flavor and no herbs and a small amount of shaved parmesean cheese. Mac and cheese was good, lacking a bit of flavor and at almost $20 was a bit expensive. The cod was awesome, best ever. Soft, flavorful, and tender. Service was excellent and fast. Stopped here for some BBQ and it did not disappoint! They smoke their own here and it shows. Ordered the brisket sandwich: the smoke ring on it was obvious, the pieces were tender and delicious. The fries were perfectly cooked. My dining companion also had the chowder. The waitress kindly warned her that it is not traditional clam chowder. It contains corn, different spices and comes topped with smoked bacon and green onions. I'm told it was tasty but she's glad she had the heads up. Service was good. This place is great. One of the only places around with an extensive selection of Craft beers on draft, served nice and cold. The food is quite good, is reasonably priced, and has everything from BBQ, Burgers, some seafood, apps and salads. Very very crowded (i.e. standing room only) during the Summer, so it's not exactly a well-kept secret. Let me tell you, off-season I am there! Fun late-night spot. Can't comment on food, but we had a great time. We came late on a Saturday after a wedding down the street. As the wedding party, we stuck out like sore thumbs, but everyone was welcoming and the crowd was great. Bartenders provided great service. Got take out last night ( Tuesday in mid June ), got the chicken, bacon ranch sandwich. The bacon was clearly a day or 2 old, hard & stuck to the cheese, the chicken was over cooked & hard. Ordered an add on of truffle fries, & they literally just added what seemed like Parmesan cheese to the fries. extremely disappointed with the results after reading reviews. Visited today after years of passing it on my vacations , the rain definitely gave the restaurant an unexpected rush but when I say the food was bad, it was bad. The clam chowder had zero clam flavor, it was essentially thickened cream with a heavy dose of thyme. The bacon and oyster crackers couldn't even save it. The steak frites for dinner, the steak didn't have a gram of seasoning on it and was previously frozen . Fries were great though! Wednesday night at 730, waited about 15 minutes for a table but there were empty tables when we were seated, probably the wait was due to staffing. Good variety of items on the menu, cocktails were good. Baked cod with risotto was excellent, macaroni and cheese was very good, ravioli was very good, fried artichokes were excellent. Chicken tenders were average. The wait for food was a little longer than usual but it was karaoke night which was fun. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Portions were more than adequate. Do not waste your money. Our food was cold and bland. My daughter ordered Steak Frites and it was very small and was served luke warm, almost like it was previously cooked and just warmed up. My chicken caesar salad was quite small for the price. I asked for the dressing on the side and it was chunky like mayonnaise and had some congealed stuff on top. Not sure who would serve it to a customer like that. Also my daughter ordered lemonade, it came in a pretty small cup, and so she asked for a refill. They charged us $4 for EACH glass. Then we had to ask twice for a straw for her and the waitress finally brought one over, unwrapped and was holding it by the top... so unsanitary! I would like to say that was the only unsanitary thing in there but I can't ! I would never recommend this place to anyone! read more

It was our first time here at Cleat & Anchor. We came for dinner and found the environment to be excellent. It was lively and festive, with friends and families gathered around the bar and others coming onto a makeshift stage to sing karaoke. It was clear that there was a strong sense of community here among the regular patrons, and it's hard not to get caught up in all their enthusiasm. The service was also excellent and the restaurant itself was very clean. We ordered a wagyu burger and a scallop risotto. The burger itself was fairly standard and enjoyable. The risotto seemed like it was made with a no-stir or minimal-stir method; the rice was still a bit firm and not as creamy as a traditional risotto. There was quite a bit of butter added to enhance the creaminess, which made it richer than I would've liked, but it really depends on your personal tastes. The presentation of the dish was great, and the scallops were perfectly cooked aside from the heavy use of butter. I also saw some interesting drinks around the restaurant though we didn't end up ordering any that night. read more

Food was pretty good, I got a salad and it was just a plain salad but I really like the white balsamic vinaigrette and also they gave lots of chicken which I appreciate. I also got a side of mac and cheese and the side was a very good portion it was mid tasting kinda plain not as sharp of cheese flavor as I would have like tho. Dessert I got a slice of milky way cake and it was so good usually cake desserts from restaurants I find not as good but it was soooo delicious! Service was great and friendly! I don't recommend this restaurant, especially their ribs unless you like your mouth and esophagus to be scorched by cracked black pepper. Also the manager never made anything right.
