Beautiful restaurant. It's Vegas/LA vibes. They have fire dancers and a DJ on weekends. The food is pricey but worth it. I a Mexican food snob and I gotta say they passed. It's super delicious and I believe the tortillas are hand made. My friend and I shared the birria enchiladas and fish tacos 10/10. The churro and ice cream sandwich was by far my favorite though. I also highly recommend the margarita. A few downfalls, u can't walk in without a reservation and even though I had a reservation at 8:30 I didn't get sat until 9:20 and it a relaxed Sunday night. Anxious to try this place out after seeing clips on social media. Hot and cold review for sure. Buildout 10/10- awesome!!! Food 6/10 Cocktails 6/10 Noise level 0/10- brutal! Entered and immediately was impressed with the buildout, home run here!! Music way way too loud which eliminates anyone taking friends they want to catch up with or frankly anyone at all wanting to have any type of convo. The table side guacamole is pointless because the table side experience includes explaining the process, again can't hear. Regardless, the guacamole itself was great. The salsa flight, all very good but the cashew salsa was the winner- well done here! Fish tacos, carne asada tacos very average. Fish entree was very fishy and not good, food quality not matching the brand at all. Again, difficult to order, ask about the menu etc given the music. Cocktails- all quite sweet even the Oaxaca old fashioned which typically would be liquor forward. Didn't order the "show stopper" drink that is lit on fire and sprinkled with some sort of flammable pixy dust but saw this presentation by one server and it was ok but a dud from another server as it didn't light properly which I'm sure is a training issue? Then come the fire dancers.... Not my thing and just weird but I'm sure many will like it. The "Vegas" birthday parade cheapens this place so much being in a mall in Riverton, UT. Take all the money spent on all the tacky entertainment and find a killer chef, GM and Som. Lastly located essentially in a shopping mall is probably not ideal for this type of concept. Plenty of friendly staff available. Many didn't know who ordered what as they delivered the dishes which is understandable at a new place so that did not factor into this review. A one of a kind experience in Utah. The building is beautiful and it's located in a very nice shopping center. Many reviews critique the loud music and dark lighting but I liked both and think it adds to the ambiance. I had the fish tacos and they were fine, I was expecting better and a larger portion but they were ok. The chips and salsa were delicious and fresh. This place has the ambiance AND the food. Las Botellas is an definitely an upscale dining experience and something the south valley has needed! Rigor the 8oz filet (one of the top 5 I've had in utah). Amazingly beautiful flavors. We really loved the fish tacos and salsa flute (super unique). The guac tableside is a nice touch. Utah is finally stepping up the food and experience game! This place is definitely an experience. The environment is fun, loud and stunning. They have dancers going around the restaurant often. Went to Las Botellas for our anniversary. It came highly recommended. We made a reservation online which was easy. They proceeded to call us and ask what the occasion was and if we had any dietary restrictions. This was just a call for no reason since nothing came about it once we were in the restaurant. Our waitress was great very attentive. The atmosphere was loud but could be entertaining. Being Mexican and loving the food this fine dining they promise fell extremely short. The "Crispy Fish Tacos" were extremely soggy and the spice they provided was bitter the birria enchiladas were dry with an intense non pleasant flavor. The Guacamole was just smashed avocado a little salt and pepper would have gone a long way. The horchata tasted like a powder mix you could buy at the grocery store, and for 7 dollars a cup I believe it should be home made personally. I understand Mexican cuisine can vary from place to place and region to region but having tried hundreds of different dishes from different places and regions this place extremely over promised and under delivered on the food. I'm a very picky Hispanic woman, they passed the taste test. The food was delicious! Be prepared to take home leftovers, the portions were huge. Some of my favorites were the crispy fried burrito with chicken tinga, baja potatoes, and corn esquite. The potatoes were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and flavored to perfection. I can't forget the salsa, it was so flavorful and served with warm corn chips. My husband ordered the chicken fajita, it was sizzling on the platter and smelled so good! My husband ordered A Mexican and A Cowboy Old Fashioned, it was hickory-smoked in a glass bell-shaped cover, pretty cool! The service was great! Shelby L. was amazing! So attentive and professional! She heightened the experience! The server can make or break the experience and she went above and beyond to make the experience wonderful. I have read some reviews that mention the food is overpriced, but I felt like it was worth it. You get what you pay for. The food and experience were well worth the price! It took them a little while to actually make me some fresh fish tacos, when they came out they had been freshly fried and were hot. But, overall the tacos were no good. No garnish, no pico, didn't even bring out SALSA! They just covered them in some kind of mayo. Tortillas were garbage and I didn't eat them. They did forget about the drink that we ordered upon sitting down and we had to ask, it took 30 minutes. Just say NO to Las Botellas. The server called my husband a woman. He has long hair and a beard, and i think he's pretty, but not pretty enough to look like a woman. That's how dark this place is! We sat at the bar to eat as we didn't want to wait an hour for a table with a concert to get to. We felt very underdressed in nice jeans and tops. This is definitely a place where you want to gussy up, but some dudes were in ball caps and cargo shorts while their ladies were dressed to the nines so who the heck knows the dress code. Food & Drink--Overpriced and underwhelming. I got the tamarind chicken tacos. Meat was well seasoned but a bit dry. The tortillas were rubbery. My husband got the carne asada tacos and the meat was tender and flavorful, but again the tortillas were rubbery. We got the salsa sampler and they were ok. They were more "sauces" than salsas. None had any heat to them. The chips were very good. We did not order cocktails as we planned to have drinks at the concert, but my husband had a horchata coffee that was delicious and my raspberry agua fresa was very good. Service--Slow and a bit chaotic but they had just opened so hopefully they will get their act together. Overall it feels like it is trying too hard. But the first time I went was last year and it was good and delicious, fun drinks etc. But I recently went to their brunch and it just seemed a little disorganized and their menu was not updated. Be aware their salsa flight is down one salsa choice. I asked for something off the drink menu and when i said hold off on this topping, they didn't even realize it came in the drink. For the prices you pay you hope that its at-least good service or they know what they're doing but it was 2 people in the same day that seemed lost. Not to mention each time they make you pay, even if you click the no tip option because youre leaving cash tip, the machine still manages to charge you tip, so they end up getting double tipped! After waiting and waiting for this place to open, I was so excited to it a try. I left quite disappointed and won't be going back. A friend and I showed up without a reservation, so we were expecting a wait, the hostess told us it would be 20-25 minutes and we could wait on the patio. This seemed like great news. We decided to move in to the bar so we could order a drink while we waited for a our table. We ordered two margaritas, one was quite sweet, but ok. The second was made with mezcal, but the flavor was too smoky and just terrible. We sent it back and got a sangria instead. The sangria had so much cinnamon and clove it was not good. The waitress must have sensed the dislike and brought a 3rd drink - which was basically a cranberry vodka with a fancy name. All of this occurred over almost an hour, much longer than the 20 minutes we were told the wait was. The man who seated us apologized and offered dessert to make up for the long wait. We figured we had waited that long we might as well give the food a try. We ordered chips and the salsa flight, which was ok. The pico and mango salsa definitely stole the show. For the main course we got fish tacos and enchiladas. Both were quite disappointing for the price. No sides, small portions, the flavor wasn't great, and the fish tacos were basically a small piece of fried fish with red cabbage. At the end of it all, we never got that dessert we were offered, so I couldn't tell you if it would have been worth it or not. this is the first time since I've been in Utah that I have been blown away with a dining experience. you walk in and immediately feel as though you are in a high end Vegas-style restaurant with an ambiance that is without equal in the state. The service is high end and above anything I have come to expect in the area. Trey was out server and was attentive without being annoying, gave the best menu recommendations, and was a complete joy to have. The food is unparalleled. The guacamole is flavorful and texturally perfect. the cashew salsa is a unique flavor explosion; the pineapple salsa is balanced and not overly sweet; the salsa verde is perfectly spiced and not too runny; the traditional salsa is fresh and exploding with classic flavors. The tacos are all amazing with some held in a marble blue corn tortilla that is art in and of itself. the quality of the ingredients makes me wonder how they do it in Utah. The shrimp was so lobster-esque I felt like I was on the coast. The sides were perfection as well! the esquite reminds me of the Mexican corn vendors with great flare and elegance - a flavor combination that roots itself in tradition but goes three levels further and creates an experience of old world meets new world. I can't speak more highly about the crema in this dish. We also did the fried cauliflower which the chef was able to balance as well! It was cooked but extremely firm and perfect. It was tempur battered but not too bready. It was fried but not oily. it was another perfect dish. Then there are the desserts... the coconut flan had the best texture of any flan I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. I've had flan in Mexico and custards of France and Spain and nothing compares. it was perfect silky smooth and held form beautifully. The flavor was mild and identifiable as to not overwhelm the pallet. the churros were the best balance of a crispy exterior and and cloud interior. Simply made everyone at the table clamor for more. It took me everything I had not to order another flan. If you want to feel like you're in Vegas with the ambiance, quality of service, uniqueness of menu offerings, and high end ingredients, this would be the only place I recommend on the wasatch front. 3 stars for the food. The food was amazing, we had the crispy fish tacos, the burger, and guac. All of it was great. Entertainment..... or lack there of. We went on a Friday night at 5:45 no live misic, no fire dancers... we asked about it and the waiter informed us the entertainment did not start until afyer 7:45. Service..... Felt really rushed to get us in and get us out. I get it you make more the faster we eat but come on. They were asking aboit desert right after we got served our dinner. Then asked about boxes before we were done eating. All in all the have some kinks to work out. I never feel rushed in vegas at high end restaraunts. Food was on point. The ambiance is great, the service stands out and food is really good. Fun environment as I'm sure others have mentioned but I want to shout out their brunch. They allow kids during brunch and the food was incredible! Definitely my new brunch spot and looking forward to trying other things off their menu. The Chilaquiles Rojos are to die for! read more

I went to Las Botellas for brunch with my girlfriends yesterday, and I give it 4 stars because of how cool the ambience is. When I first walked in it was super loud but after a few mimosas i got used to it. We ordered the gringo breakfast, which has a bit of everything; pancakes, eggs, and potatoes. When we got our food it came with rice and beans, was told they ran out of potatoes. Food was still good. My other friend ordered the chilaquiles with guacamole. She received the wrong chilaquiles without the guac. Food was good and we were hungry so she ate it, she wasn't going to say anything but I thought the server should know. He was nice and took off the wrong dish. Server seemed busy, but I think he was training someone. Overall a cool place to go, service was ok. read more

Well gave this place another try... the experience was even WORSE! We had reservations for 7:30 didn't get seated for 30 minutes when our table was ready, we had a party of 12 so gratuity 20% was already included. When we ordered drinks they didn't once ask for refills. We wanted to order more drinks and the guy could've easily made an additional $300 but didn't because he never asked if anyone wanted more drinks. We also kept having to ask the waiter where half of our food was. The birthday girl her food came out last and everyone was done with their meals because they forgot her meal. Not once did the waiter ask how our meals were and if we needed anything. They acted annoyed when we asked for certain things so the food is mediocre. Yeah ambience may be cool, but it's definitely not worth the money. read more
