FINAL UPDATE May 2013: I've not deleted my original review as I feel it necessary to underscore that, given the opportunity, a good business person will work to remedy a bad situation. Such is the case here. My laptop was examined by the new owner, he saw what went wrong, worked on the solution, kept me updated throughout and now I have a good-as-new functioning laptop. The issues described below have been fixed, and I would not have any hesitation to patronize this firm, especially knowing how well I was treated when a problem arose. The business was recently sold and the new owner took the time to call me to find a way to resolve my issue and turn me into a delighted customer. My laptop is in for an examination and based on my initial conversation I think this is going to have a happy ending. It is never too late to recover if you do the right thing-and have a willing audience. ORIGINAL REVIEW Run-don't walk-.from this place. I took a working, but older PC in for a simple repair. I did my homework beforehand and we discussed and agreed on the likely solution (I told them I was hesitant to put much $$ in it, but they talked me in to leaving it) After a week I heard it needed an additional part. Then no word for a week or so. I stopped in and found out they were ordering a $200 part (one that was working when I dropped it off). I told them to put it back where it was when I left it and I was done. A week later I went to pick it up and thankfully had them check it before I left, and it was dead. Two more weeks went by before I got a call and they said the motherboard was fried. My PC was in here over a month on a simple repair. Worse, they pointed out that any failure that happens while YOUR equipment is in their hands is not their problem. This gives them freedom to experiment with your equipment with virtually no liability. I work with a top flight IT team and ran this by three experienced mechanical IT techs, independently, and got the same answer: the motherboard is on no way connected to the issue I brought my machine in for; they fried it. They charged me $45 to transfer all my data off the hard drive, but I am left with a boat anchor. I will pursue remedy on this. read more

Took my laptop in for a hinge repair. When I received it back, the WiFi wasn't working properly. I took it back in, explained the situation, and the owner repaired it at no cost, even though I could not show that it was working before. On top of that, services were done quickly and professionally. They have earned my future business, and I highly recommend. read more

Diagnostic is $5 less expensive than Microcenter, so that is good. My computer was totaled, so they bought it off me for $25. I'm certain the parts were worth much more than that, but what can you do? read more

i brought my mac in for a broken screen , was quoted $887 for a full repair after paying $45 for the diagnostic that would take 3-5 weeks i went to apple for a second opinion & they charged me $475 for the same thing & i got my computer back the next day. Mike was extremely nice but I recommend getting a second opinion before you trust the first person you speak with. read more

I came in for a Windows reload on my Lenovo laptop. It has been more than 3 weeks and have received only two updates on how things are going, yet the repair is not done and have been getting no further updates. I am losing patience given school is starting up soon for me, and I highly doubt this place is so busy that they can't get a simple repair done for me. In addition, this was also a repair estimated at 3-5 business days. We are currently at 3 weeks and counting. I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt and not making a fuss about it, but this is highly unacceptable as a first time customer. Which to mention I will never come back for future repairs. I am saddened that my experience here did not exceed my expectations. God help this company actually repairs my laptop when I get it back, that's IF I ever get it back at the pace all this is going. I'm only giving this place a 2 star because the guy at the front, Brian, was pretty nice, and so I read it's family owned. But I wouldn't return and caution you not to go. This place charges $150 for a software install, something you could get done for $40 elsewhere. Also, it takes them 3 days whereas in other places it takes up to a day. I went in to have a computer fixed and was told that assuming it didn't need parts ordered, it would be fixed in 4 or 5 days. When they called me with the diagnostic, they said it wouldn't be fixed in time. Seeing as they charge $45 for diagnostics (very high price, especially since their website says diagnostics are free. But with hidden conditions), I wouldn't have asked them to look at my computer had I known it wouldn't even be ready on time. So that's $45 down the drain. I had other issues, but I won't be petty. Overall, you can find better and cheaper elsewhere. read more

I have a laptop that was under extended warranty with AMEX. Needed a repair estimate for the claim. They were by far the quickest turnaround time so I went with them. They were familiar with the warranty process and clearly explained what they would do. They did everything they said and over delivered. read more

I stupidly left my laptop plugged in over night with the power cord jammed into the wall. When I tried powering it up in the morning to play some games, it wouldn't charge. I managed to hold it in place to charge it for a while, but eventually that stopped working too! I brought it in on a Tuesday to get it looked at. I did my homework and talked about it with the owner (who even had parts assembled to show me where the problem might be first hand!), and he went over all the price points with me. I told him I would prefer if he just diagnose it and then call me just in case there was a problem with the motherboard or something. He got back to me on Thursday, which is the fastest I have ever been contacted after getting tech repaired. He said it was the power adapter like I had thought, and reminded me of the set price. I agreed, and within an hour he called me back and had it all ready to go! I went in and paid for it, and before he let me go he had me turn it on and make sure it worked. Seeing that it did, I happily went home, played a few games, and now sit here writing this review! I highly recommend this place! It was a nice relief to have someone go over each step and all the options as well as make sure it works before you leave! read more

Ahhhwesome! I went in yesterday (8/30/11) with a cracked screen on my 17.5" HP Pavillion DV7 and was afraid that due to the damage I would not be able to use it again. I was greeted by Nate (Nathan). He explained the process and reassured me that my laptop could be repaired. He also took time out to educate me how the repair would be done and left me with a quote. I received a call today from Justin asking if I'd like a brand new out of the box screen or an used one. He explained the advantages and disadvantages of both and we agreed that an used one would suit my needs. An hour later he called and stated it was ready to pick up. I was so impressed by their efficiency, professionalism and overall expertise. I cannot explain how seamless Nate and Justin made the process. I told them that if ever I had another pc problem I'm coming straight to them. I forgot to mention that the repair ended up being LESS than what wasw quoted. I am leaving this review in hopes of preventing others from wasting their time and money with this place. The employees and manager at this location have terrible communication skills, are unprofessional, don't care to even try in the customer service department and are extremely unprofessional. I took my computer in for keyboard issues and dropped it off for a $45 diagnostic fee. After dropping it off I heard back a few days later that liquid had been spilt on the computer, which is not possible. I am the only one who uses my computer and know this did not happen. They said they had cleaned it and fixed it and that I owed $95. However, their contract states they will not proceed after diagnostic without contacting you to approve charges. They said too bad, they fixed it and I owed the money. It was close to closing time, so I decided to wait until the next morning to pick it up and was just going to pay the $95. The next morning a different associate called saying they found the problem and wanted to know if I approved the charges. I explained to him the manager called the night before and said the work had been completed and that I was disappointed I had not received the call the current associate had made to approve charges. He said he was sorry and to pick up the computer and it would only be the $45 fee. He said it would be fixed and ready within 1 hour. I picked it up, took it home and nothing had been fixed. I called, spoke to the associate and he said they did not fix it because they did not get approval. I explained that I was confused per our previous conversation when he said it would be ready. He began to yell at me and say that it had never been fixed. He hung up on me. The manager called back within a few minutes and apologized for the terrible communication. He asked that I bring it back, so he could fix it and there would be no charge. I took it back, picked it up the next day, got it home and nothing has been fixed. Honestly, I feel like they did not even look at it. I would not waste my time or money with this place. They wasted a week with my machine, as well as a lot of time with phone calls and driving there multiple times. All to just have to fix it myself. Don't make the same mistake I did. read more

I have had two very good experiences here. Several years ago while at a large computer store in SE Denver with a fried laptop, the large computer store was quoting me over $800 to retrieve photos and documents from my old laptop. A customer behind me tapped me on the shoulder and recommended Laptop Repair on Arapahoe Rd. I drove directly over to them and they retrieved my pictures (80,000+), documents, etc. and were very pleasant and helpful. (Yes it took a few days but this sort of thing isn't quick). (Sorry I didn't write a review then). Today my laptop wasn't working right after downloading a new program. I drove back to them (believe Brian has helped me both times) and told them the trouble I was having. Within a couple minutes, my computer problem was fixed and I was out the door (no charge - just a kind smile)! These folks have been pleasant, honest and very helpful on both my visits. Thank you.
