While needing breakfast to get the day started, our party was seated promptly with the choice of indoor or outdoor in which I opted to sit outdoors to enjoy my breakfast with a view. They graciously provided heating lamps as it was bit chilly in the morning. The breakfast menu is very simple with not alot of choice but they do offer a buffet option with similar items for $29.99. I was craving for eggs benedict and went for that option. Served with a potato hash in the shape of a puck as well as micro green salad. There were dinner reservations available. Unclear to me if they also took walk-ins. Food: I ate breakfast here during my stay. During the week, breakfast is only off a menu. On Saturday & Sunday, the menu is available as well as a breakfast buffet. I was able to do both. The dishes on the breakfast menu were good, but I preferred the buffet due to the variety. For dinner, I had the following: Burrata & Tomato Salad - Delicious, would order again Side of Macaroni & Cheese - These were long noodles and good, but it could be saucier. Roasted Cauliflower - This was my favorite side dish. It was a cauliflower gratin. It was creamy and delicious. Mashed Potatoes - Standard Service: Service for breakfast for sporadic. It was always super busy, and everyone was always running around. The buffet makes it easy to just serve yourself though. Dinner service was friendly and not as sporadic. Our server was nice. I ate dinner with a big group here. We were all lazy to go out after a long day of work. Everyone was skeptical to eat here but we were all tired so be it. To our surprise, the food was good. The grilled pork belly was delicious! Some of us order the grilled scallop and that was also good. I ordered the lamb chop which was ok. The Caesar salad was good. My coworkers ordered the chicken and said it was good. And some ordered the steak and they ate all of it. All in all everything was good for a hotel restaurant. read more

It is a really nice restaurant located near the lobby area. I enjoyed my meal and they also had a buffet option. Although staff was really nice here, I have mixed feelings about the food and price comparison. We ordered the garlic pork belly, seafood tagliatelle, and bbq chicken plate. Garlic pork belly had a great crisp with an interesting sauce that had a hint of a strong spice. BBQ chicken was moderate as it was served with cream corn and potato salad. The seafood tagliatelle was fresh and delicious but was overly salty, in my personal opinion. All dishes were great nonetheless but I thought only the seafood tagliatelle was worth its price. Granted, this restaurant is located in a resort so it was expected. Ambiance was quiet and family friendly. The wait for the food however, took the longest. The Lantana breakfast was surprisingly good. It is pricey but that's resort prices! We went on Sunday for the buffet and Monday a la cart. The service was very good and attentive. 5 star service! The food was good. There was bacon, sausage, eggs, make your own omelet, spinach frittata and potatoes. The bakery goods were great. I especially like their croissant. It was fresh and soft not overdone or hard. Breakfast on Monday was also pretty good. I sub the eggs Benedict with salmon instead of bacon. The eggs were runny which is just right. One of our favorite hotels for family travel is the Hyatt Regency in Indian wells. The property showcases the beauty of the Desert in Coachella Valley with a gorgeous stand of Date Palms standing amid artesian fountains in the courtyard to greet incoming guests at this one-of-a kind resort. While we have many wonderful memories of family times and special occasions at this location, this trip was a little different in that the hotel lobby and restaurants were under renovation during our last stay over a year ago. Staff did a marvelous job in accommodating us during our brief stay. The Lantana Restaurant, normally located on ground floor, typically offers a host a breakfast items featuring locally inspired ingredients and recipes. Since the restaurant was under construction, we were routed to a ballroom upstairs for a breakfast buffet that offered plenty of fresh fruit, assorted pastries, hot items (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns) as well as an omelet bar. Service was prompt and courteous as I never saw the bottom of my coffee cup. We appreciated the convenience of this dining opportunity and look forward to brunch at Lantana's when we return after completion of the hotel renovation. read more

We are currently staying at the Hyatt and decided to check out the hotel restaurant. We were surprised by the amazing food but most of all the exceptional service. We order the Steak sandwich, scallops and dates. My scallops were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend that dish. Rocio was our waitress and we received the most thoughtful & amazing service from her. She was attentive and would always check up on us. It was difficult to find information about Lantana because they just reopened recently after a post-COVID remodeling. They do not answer the phone and as of 12/24/22, they are not accepting dinner reservations. They are located inside the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells. Everything we ordered was absolutely amazing and the service was superior. Their 12oz. Ribeye is their signature item and it ranked with the finest steakhouses. I think this place is a reflection of the entire hotel. Don't get me wrong the staff is very nice and accommodating. For years I attended conferences at the Renaissance Esmeralda next door and always wanted to stay at the Hyatt. In my mind it was the mysterious high-end hotel next door. Boy was I wrong. I'm still trying to figure out room service, which in and of itself is not a good sign. They have a place they call "The Market" or something similar. Basically it's a crappy excuse for food to go. If you order an espresso drink there it comes from a machine I'll-equipped to handle a proper espresso. The food waits to die inside a plexiglass cooler. If you stand too close you will lose vital water in your body from the items inside desperate to find hydration. If your a sweet freak there a smorgasbord of chocolate candies and sugary food for 8 to 16 old children that you can purchase for a lot less at the local quickie mart. So what about room service - well since our hotel room phone buttons didn't get me anything but an operator and there's not a room service menu handy at all. Just a QR code that took me to a site that I think said room service came from the same awful market.... But then it also said they had steaks to order and some other items. It was so confusing and weird we passed on it. That brings me to Lantana - the "hotel" restaurant. Now, bear in mind that besides the full scale advertising for their pool and other amenities it seems everywhere I turned there was a sign indicating a Chef that prepared steaks to order. I had three meals there. A breakfast thing that looked a bit like a quesadilla with I think a Pasilla chili on it and some kind of crema. I don't know but that thing made no sense and consequently had absolutely no flavor. That dish was an insult to all Mexicans. Embarrassing. For lunch my wife and I have a salad bar with anemic salmon that I think they prepared for a local school cafeteria. Just awful. I was on my own the next day for dinner - we ate off-property otherwise. But I thought - let's give it another chance and have one of those steaks, right? So I ordered a whiskey-sour and a ribeye. I was presented with a cocktail made of something that looked like pre-mix syrup with a bright red cherry. There are two red flags for a bad drink. A bright red-cherry and a empty bar at 7:30 pm in a Hyatt. I should have known. One sip and I realized the bar tender is still studying Moe's primer on how to make a lemon drop without lemons and how to prepare a whiskey sour without fresh citrus. Holy crap, I'm in a frickin Hyatt at Indian Wells people!! Then, my medium-well steak arrived. Listen, I'm from Texas and I would never order more than a medium rare to rare steak at a Texas steak house. But I've learned that's a death wish in California. Unless your at a Ruth Chris or similar, order your first one medium until you know your chef has proper skills, then - if it pans out, revisit and order it medium rare or rare. So this thing comes and it looks weirdly pregnant. I'm not kidding - it was bulging like a possum eating a sweet tater. So I had to look. The so-called "chef" shoved about 4 halves of what could only be described as mummified fingerling potatoes. And, to make it worse some sort of BBQ-looking sauce under those little gems. The sauce was so bad I think two of those little critters ran off the table in disgust. Backup! Yes the "Chef" put fricken nasty-ass sauce under my unsalted Ribeye. WTF! And, it tasted like someone sautéed it with an SOS pad. Man it was awful. And, of course the steak was so rare it followed the fingerlings out the door. Basically, I think the Chef either left or lied on their resume. This entire hotel is pretending to be a 4-star retreat but is basically an expensive-as-hell vending machine with wonderful employees whose owners are cheapskates. You are seriously an insult to your staff. Horrible. Stay off property! Do not eat there. PS - the room was great except someone parked a train between our room and the golf course every morning around 6:30. What the hell is that noise out there?! read more

While I was visiting Palm Springs area in CA, I visited Lantana for breakfast. It is located inside the Hyatt Regency in Indian Wells. They had a large indoor space and also a very nice outdoor seating. Since it was a nice weather, we decided to sit outside. It was nicely shaded and decorated beautifully. Very relaxing atmosphere, making you take a long, deep breath to take it all in. The breakfast menu offered nice amount of selections, from pancakes, omelets, benedict, and some "regional" items like tacos and huevos rancheros. We went with Buttermilk Pancakes and Smoked Salmon Egg White Fritatta. Our server, Veronica asked if we were sharing these, and we said yes. From there, she did something really sweet without us asking for it. She requested the kitchen to separate these dishes so that it is easier to share, which was really nice! Their pancakes usually comes in three. However, they went the extra mile for us... they made smaller pancakes than normal so that they can make four pancakes, making it easy for us to share! They plated separately with two pancakes each, how kind! They also gave us each a half portion of Fritatta, plated separately so that we can each have our own plate. We had a lovely breakfast here. I must be honest, I didn't have high expectations...a restaurant attached to a hotel is not always great. BUT, they sure did proved me wrong at Lantana! There are a ton of dining options in the desert and this does not make the top of the list. We spent $235 in total for 4. The 2 kids both ate from the buffet and it was the best thing the kitchen was able to put together. My wife ordered the burrata caprese and the scallop entree. The burrata was lacking. Giant chunks of tomato, and a ton of greens, but very little burrata. She said the scallops were well cooked. I ordered the ribeye, and ale soup. The soup came in a tea cup sized vessel for $12 and was really just OK. It was basically french onion, but had amazingly stale croutons. I asked the waitress if the steak came with any sides. She responded that it did not so I got the $13 mac and cheese side. When I got the steak there were fingerling potatoes accompanying the steak. The mac and cheese was undercooked and gummy. My wife ordered the local IPA as the waitress confirmed it was a hazy. When it came to the table it was clear it was a west coast IPA and not hazy at all. I ordered a glass of cabernet. It wasnt until I saw the bill I realized that she had brought me the large pour. Food wasn't worth the expense, and the wait staff is either trying to scam us and get the bill up, or just has zero idea what they are doing. read more

Picture walking into Lantana with your Asian family for dinner. You are greeted politely, and then walked to the *furthest* location in the restaurant, behind a partition. Then imagine seeing another Asian family next to yours. And shockingly you are joined by a third Asian family. You would think to yourself, "well, this is probably a noodle place" but no - it's just regular American food. You think nothing of this until the meal is finished and you walk out past the majority Caucasian diners and then it hits home - you just experienced SEGREGATION. I have had breakfast and dinner here. The customer service was EXCELLENT otherwise I would have given only 3 stars for taste. The servers were mindful of our toddler and brought him crayons and milk. So this is good for families. Dinner- we had Caesar salad, Margherita pizza, Parmesan fries and the Caramel semifreddo for desert. All food pics are attached. Caesar salad was good, simple and tasted as it should. Margherita pizza was overloaded with cheese! We could not eat the middle of the pizza because it was being weighed down by cheese and became a soggy mess. I usually like extra cheese but not in this case. Parmesan fries were like any other fries and good for our toddler. Caramel semifreddo desert was disappointing! It came with 3 white macadamia cookies which we thought might be warm and gooey. But oh no, they were hard as rocks and tasted like bad sugar cookies, also the size of quarters : (. The custard itself was not the best but eatable. It had pecans in it which helped. Lantana, please bake fresh cookies for this dessert, it will step it up! Breakfast- we had the Belgian waffles, Desert burrito, Croissants, Greek yogurt with granola, Coffee and Juice. Belgian waffles were the best and the date creme was yummy! I highly recommend this! Dessert burrito had eggs and veggies, could use more flavor but it came with salsa and guacamole. Greek yogurt was nothing special, good for my toddler, we did not eat the cinnamon granola it came with. The server kindly substituted the berries in it for a mashed banana. Croissants were not warm, and I have had better from the Walmart bakery. My husband liked his orange juice and coffee was not made from the best beans as I know quality beans. They should use French press coffee like other restaurants. The chairs for our table had crumbs on them before we sat down for brfst, but I was able to overlook this. They also had a brfst buffet for $25 which we did not eat. Parking- Lantana is inside the Hyatt, on the first floor. And we self parked at the Hyatt. The manager was nice and she greeted us both days, I remember a server named Veronica who was very attentive and gave us a good experience. The staff made my experience better. read more

So when we stay at the Hyatt this is where we eat breakfast. I've hoped for years that they would update the menu but it has stayed basically the same for as long as I can remember, except for the chilaquiles they took off despite them being one of the best things they had going for them. This trip I splurged and tried the pancakes. They were oh so good. Served with a mascarpone cream and lemme tell you I almost ate every bite! Coffee is a-ok, kids breakfasts are spot on for kiddos and when you sit outside it feels very kid friendly and not so formal. Husband got eggs Benedict which come with a side of potatoes and I had a few bites of both and they were great. We also were impressed with the fruit plate we ordered. It had a large variety and was plenty for breakfast as well as a to go box for snacks later. Only criticism I have is that they add a little more variety to their menu for regulars as we do tire of the same choices over and over-albeit good choices-change is good! read more

We had a breakfast brunch yesterday at Lantana. The food was pretty good and the service was sub-par but it was Thanksgiving, but my big complaint is with the pricing. The buffet was $54.00 per person OK, it's palm desert and it's not McDonald's but that's not my gripe. When I got our bill there was a 18% "large group service fee which came to $16.95. Then there was another 18% gratuity which was another $16.95. Then there was a "LAN" 3% which was another $3.54. That amounts to $37.44 or about 31.75% of our $118 tab. I won't be back. read more

Dined here two times when we stayed in Hyatt Indian wells. Nice yummy and healthy selections with nice and attentive service. Specially, loved their interior design as well as outdoor seating with fan and fire pits. Just to be there having a drink would be nice too. Lobster pasta with freshly cooked lobster was yummy. Also they asked me if I wanted smaller portion, so I could have tasted another plates. Complementary breads have all so good flavors! The price is surprisingly reasonable and inexpensive;) read more

The breakfast buffet on Sunday had a nice selection of high quality items, and the regular breakfast menu was great as well. The fresh squeezed OJ was delicious. For the dinner menu, keep in mind that you can order anything off of the room service menu (which appealed to me way more than the regular dinner menu offered.) Alright so I read a lot of bad reviews but based on pure convenience we decided to try out it. We ordered a ton of food. Left full and happy. Our server, Jasmine, was just wonderful. We started off with calamari. When you get a bite of calamari with a bite of that fried jalapeño, yummmmn! Second course, got the roasted peach and spinach salad. Also delicious, dressed perfectly. I'm going to start making it at home! For our entrees: I had the penne pasta with veggies. The veggies were cooked perfectly and delicious but the sauce was just kind of bland. My husband had the vegan mushroom ravioli and again, the sauce lacked flavor. The ravioli themselves were delicious though. For dessert we had an excellent pot of coffee and crème brûlée. Honestly, it was perfect. The berries on it were also perfect and sweet and delicious. We just might come back tomorrow. And we'll definitely ask for Jasmine again if we do read more

However, wheat berries and the Impossible products may contain wheat, so take the time to review to ensure items fit whatever your dietary requirements...despite their markings as they may be incorrect. Ordered the sweet potatoes- highly recommend, spaghetti squash- great but garlicky and power bowl (chickpeas, jackfruit, silvered almonds, brussel sprouts and quinoa) It was a small bowl and had little to no quinoa. Over priced at only 2 dollars less than the huge salmon plate, but happy to see a unique menu option. I wish it had more flavor and some quinoa for a solid vegan/gf menu choice. And now we are down to 1 star for this place and a never again....We decided to try this place for breakfast. We were seated and watched several employees pass our table and NO ONE acknowledged us. A short time approximately 5 minutes the hostess brought a couple over and sat them at the table next to us. Almost immediately, a server was there to take their drink orders. A few minutes later our server came to the table and asked my wife what she wanted to drink and walked away never asking me what I wanted. The management obviously still does not understand how to train people and the service is very poor. The employees walk around with tunnel vision and don't look at all the tables or acknowledge them. We are so done with this place. I will get in my car and drive off property to eat versus eating at this place again for any meal. read more

This is a restaurant located inside the Hyatt Grand Champions Resort. My husband came here to celebrate our anniversary, and one of our traditions is to order room service + a movie on one of the nights. We were surprised to see that we could actually order directly from Lantana as part of room service and got really excited when we read through their eclectic, creative sounding menu. Usually room service consists of pizza and a burger, but not this time! Autumn beet salad - Maytag bleu cheese mousse, roasted and pickled beets, petit greens, radicchio paper, walnut powder. The beet salad was good and everything was well balanced, with the exception of the walnut powder on top of all the greens... I thought that was really unnecessary and overkill. Hazelnut crusted mahi - passion fruit braised pineapple, earl grey tea sabayon. This was overcooked and the passion fruit braised pineapple was really sour. I couldn't taste the earl grey tea sabayon. The idea of this dish sounds better than the actual execution. Bone marrow crusted filet - smoked potato risotto, maitake mushroom. The filet was perfectly cooked, but neither my husband nor liked the smoked potato risotto. read more

5'stars for the deep fried Brussels sprouts. Crispy and tangy, some of the best I've ever had. But zero stars for the bland leek porridge--I mean risotto. And zero stars for the stinky seafood soup of the day, and -1 star for the teeny, tiny beet and expired arugula salad. Stick with the Brussels sprouts. The pancakes on the buffet were extremely delicious. Other things that were OK were the omelettes from the omelette station, the granola and Greek yogurt, and the whole wheat croissant. The breakfast potatoes were quite nasty (and this is coming from someone who usually loves breakfast potatoes, whether hashbrowns or home fries). I found their house coffee undrinkable, it tasted too much like grounds. I ended up having to pay to get cappuccino so I could have some caffeine. It was actually very delicious though it was frustrating to have to add on even more money to the price of the breakfast buffet to get some coffee I could drink. Even though we are staying here, I would not return here for another day for breakfast. Looking forward to trying somewhere else nearby. read more

After a long day on the road for 5 hours, my coworkers and I were ready for a delicious dinner. Lantana is located near the lobby of the Hyatt in Indian Wells so it was an easy choice to make for us weary travelers. Although she was new, our waitress was attentive and quickly got our drink orders, which was much appreciated given the warm weather. The seared scallops with a leek risotto stood out to me on the menu so when it arrived, I was ready to dig in. The scallops were perfect - tender and juicy and the risotto nicely complemented it. Despite the small looking plate, it was surprisingly filling and we also shared a plate of brussel sprouts which were seasoned well.
