The job took much longer than he had estimated and the crew was very messy leaving trash and their personal boots everywhere. It smelled and felt like living in a pig sty. He/his crew went through our personal belongings and used our personal ladder to work. They did not bother ASKING us nor did they bother putting it back. They left it propped up on our home. It took a total of 8 days, countless excuses on why it was taking so long, left trash everywhere on property very messy and unorganized. Owner Robert got physical with me. We ended up using Lansford to completely reroof our home. We also went with his suggested vendor for new rain gutters. He did an excellent job, on time and budget. He repaired our leaky skylights too. He also worked the licensing with the county (yes an inspector had to sign off). The rain gutters are also working. It's been two years. No leaks. These guys are great! Robert is honest, up front, and fair. We had an old rotted wooden shake roof that had no decking underneath. These guys came, stripped the entire roof, laid decking across the entire roof and shingled it - - in 3 days!! He made sure to clean up my yard of any debris and ran a magnet for nails so our four-year-old doesn't get hurt. Robert's workers are pleasant, courteous and professional. I chose Lansford based on his review history and I am very pleased. The owner of the company came out personally for the quote and I liked his no nonsense approach. His pricing was very fair and his crew did a fantastic job. I went on the roof several times during the job and they fixed the wood decking in several places, added new roof vents, and replaced all the old vent covers as well as removed the old vents that were no longer used. He utilizes three companies to do the work. One does the tear off. One does the delivery of the shingles, and his company which does the labor. Be prepared to write three checks. This means he does not jack up the price for the materials and the tear off. The tear off group under Fausto Garcia finished the work in 2 hours and tarped the entire surrounding of the house and left the yard immaculate. He came with a crew of 6 so the job was done quick. The roofers were a group of 3 and the whole job was finished in one day plus 3 hours. I have a small house but the attention to quality and detail was apparent. I highly recommend this company. Be aware, that in LA County you will need the inspector to come in and verify that you have smoke detectors in all bedrooms an a carbon monoxide detector in the hallway outside the bedroom. The permit for the job will not get signed off without it. I had to make an emergency run to Home Depot to get the detectors. read more

I have had the same roof since I moved in almost 10 years ago and got a leak in one of my rooms during the most recent rainstorm. I wasn't sure if I needed a small repair or if it was just time to replace the entire roof. So, I called some roofing specialists from Yelp for estimates. Robert Lansford arrived for the estimate on time and promptly went up to the roof after I showed him where the leak was. When he came back, he told me my roof is in pretty good shape and can last another 5 years. He explained what kind of repairs are needed, and when I asked him when he was available, he told me he was only available for total replacement given the amount of work he had lined up. But he told me it would cost me about $1200 for the repairs. I was a little taken aback initially by Robert's abruptness, but then I realized he's just an all-business kind of guy and I was so appreciative of the information he gave me, even though he knew he wouldn't be doing this project. That was valuable information that helped me decide on the roof specialist I eventually hired, who ended up with almost identical recommendations and the same estimate. We have a wood shake roof and about 1 1/2 years ago we replaced a whole section of our roof because it was pouring rain through one of the canned lights and we were told it was beyond repair. We've recently noticed two other leaks that we knew we should take care of...of course we called the roofer that replaced the other section of roof. His estimate for repair of the two areas was about $2,375 and replacement of just the two planes was $9,400. We got that feeling in our gut that we were being taken advantage of so decided to make some more calls... I asked a neighbor who she would recommend and she told me about Lansford Roofing. I called him and he was very responsive. He came over with one of his foreman, he checked out the roof and said he thought all it needed was some caulk where the flashing met the chimney and some more caulk in an area that wasn't installed correctly. His foreman applied the caulking and Robert (the owner) said he normally charged $300 for a repair, but he wouldn't charge me anything, "He had the caulk in the truck". Robert even went and purchased some paint and delivered it for my husband to cover the white caulking. Robert suggested we give this a try and see if it does the job. Here's why I like and recommend Robert - he could have easily suggested similarly expensive repairs as our original roofer - hey...we don't know the difference but he tried to address the problem and not just line his pockets. A bonus was that he didn't even charge me for the visit, I'm super thankful and this is indicative of his professionalism and trustworthiness.
