As of July 21, 2026, it is still not finished. This has been the worst experience we've had with a construction company. We chose Drycore based on their five-star reviews. Mike, the project manager, was patient and persistent, and showed us photos/videos of a similar job in Saratoga. We interviewed three companies, and while we were prepared to pay a premium for quality and reliability, Mike's consistent follow-up and confidence gave us the impression Drycore could deliver -- his price ended up being comparable to the others, so cost was never the deciding factor for us. During sales, he texted that the job would only take 1-2 weeks, saying the one-month contract timeline was just a precaution. That was the start of our nightmare. Almost nothing Mike promised held up. After demolition began, we were suddenly told certain customizations we'd specifically discussed couldn't be done, likely leaving us with excess tiles. One of Mike's supervisors then showed up demanding our second payment. When we raised concerns about the work, he shouted at us on our own property: "You can cancel the contract now" -- after our entire roof had already been torn off. From there, it only got worse: Work was slow and sloppy. Nails left on the ground daily damaged our car tires -- all four needed replacing. A neighbor filed a complaint with the state. Dirty handprints left on our newly painted walls. Crews were chronically late or no-shows (9am meant 1pm; noon meant 4pm or nothing). Wrong materials used on ridges, hips, valleys, and rakes -- painted bright red, making our home an eyesore. Tiles installed visibly crooked. Midway through, Mike was terminated -- the owner told us he'd been failing to follow through on multiple projects, which became our problem. The owner took over and agreed to redo the ridges, causing more demolition, delays, and waiting on tile orders. We learned he actually lives in Southern California, despite the company advertising as South Bay-based. He said he'd personally finish the job, but progress stayed inconsistent. At one point our roof was left exposed with debris covering both the roof and front of our home, followed by more delays from insufficient tile stock. Despite the incomplete work and damage to our property, the owner threatened to place a lien on our home over final payment. As of today: The roof is still unfinished Our home has sustained damage We've repeatedly rearranged work schedules for crews that don't show We were told they'd arrive at 8am today -- no one came This has dragged on over four months and caused real physical and emotional stress -- I needed medical treatment one night in April because of it. Since then, my husband has handled most of this alone. We now consider this project abandoned. Drycore never had the capability to properly complete a clay tile roof, despite their promises. We'll have to hire another company to fix the damage they caused. We reserve the right to pursue legal action.

Substandard finish and no follow-up on a $25,000+ project…read more I hired Prime America Roofing to apply a silicone coating to my flat roof. The project was completed and the roof is sealed, which is the reason this isn't a one-star review, but the standard of craftsmanship fell well short of what a job of this size and cost should deliver. The problems were not isolated; they accumulated across the work, and several caused damage or follow-on issues that I had to resolve myself. The trouble began during application. The silicone sealer dripped onto the ground below the roofline, and I was fortunate to be walking the property at the time, because I was able to wipe the residue away before it set. Had I not been there, it would have dried in place. The application itself was careless: sealer splattered across my skylights (I have the photos to show it), leaving a mess where there should have been clean, deliberate work. Beyond the cosmetic problems, the crew failed to restore key components to their proper positions. The electrical conduits on the roof, which rest on wood blocks, were not returned to their original placement, and as a result the metal conduits became fused directly onto the dried silicone layer. The condensate drainage line for my AC was also left improperly routed; instead of running cleanly from the unit to the drain, it was left hanging, which caused water to back up into the AC unit and ultimately stopped it from working. The detail that best captures the lack of care was my outdoor bathroom sink. The crew used it to clean their painting equipment and left dried silicone lumps caked across the porcelain. It was filthy. The only way I could remove the buildup was to scrape it off with a straight-edge razor. What pushed my rating down further was the absence of any accountability afterward. I notified the job supervisor of these issues more than two weeks ago and have received no response from the company since. A reputable contractor stands behind its work and addresses legitimate concerns; silence after a $25,000+ project is its own kind of answer. I expected professionalism from start to finish: clean application, components restored to working order, respect for the property, and responsiveness when problems arise. What I received instead was sloppy workmanship, preventable damage to my AC system, a cleanup burden left on me, and no follow-up.
