I bought a "CERTIFIED"pre-owned Dodge Caravan from Langley Fiat in January of 2014 ; that is, it was posted on the web as A CERTIFIED WORRY FREE VEHICLE. You Know something like you might get from Jimmy Pattison. The sales rep I was dealing with also assured me that this as true. After being presented with my cheque for the purchase, the sales manager said that he had to make some adjustments to the bill of sale, because the figures didn't quite agree (my trade in was not yet taken into consideration).
On reading the final bill of sale, I found that instead of being a certified vehicle, he now claimed the vehicle was being sold "AS IS". He did STRONGLY recogmend however that I PURCHASE "THEIR" extended warrenty.
Langly fiat had also placed a large stenciled ADVERTISING BANNER on the rear window of the vehicle. The advertising was not on the vehicle in December of 2013, when I first maade my offer of purchase and gave Langley Fiat my holding deposit. I had not given permission for them to do so.
My " CERTIFIED-CARE FREE VEHICLE" has:
1. A removable, between the seats, console that is not the original and my key does not fit, It does not have the power outlet that the console that does belong in the vehicle would have.
2. Groved front brake rotors.
3. Rear brakes that are adjusted so tightly that the drums cannot be removed without first backing off the adjustments.
4. A transaxle cover that leaks and which has done so for a while
.5. A right rear shock absorber that has been leaking for some time
When I asked if the vehicle had a block heater Langley Fiat not only could not tell me; but, the sales manager did not even have enough initiative to ask one of the service personel. When I looked under the hood myself, their sales rep had to ask ME what the fuse box was.
ON A RATING OF 1 TO 10, FROM ME THIS OUTFIT RECIEVES A MINUS 10.
STAY JUST FAR, FAR AWAY FROM THEM AS YOU CAN
.
Then on April 7 they sent me an E-mail to inform me that it was time to have THEM service my vehicle for spring. read more
