I get Langel's pizza quite often. It is a great pizza! Their crumbled sausage is the best! They have a very friendly staff who are hard working. Any time of year, they are a good choice when you'd like a great delicious pizza! I order on line and usually the pizza is ready to pick up in 30 mins. You can get a special medium one topping pizza on Tuesdays for a discounted price and try them out! And they give you bonus points on line for future orders. read more

Friday night, waited over 2 hours for my pizza. Called to finally cancel and get a refund. Sat on hold for 10 minutes hearing the same stupid voice message over and over about a grinch pizza. Someone finally gets on the phone and asks me a bunch of questions. After I ask for a refund 100 times she says she will credit me. I don't want a credit, I want a refund. She goes "oh, then let me transfer you." I sit on hold listening to that God awful voice message for another 5 mins just to be asked 100 questions again. I finally say "give me a f***in refund what on Earth" and she hangs up on me. I call back, another 10 mins on hold, and she tells me too bad suck it up. Idiot driver shows up at my house 2 hours and 15 minutes after my order, an hour 15 after it said it would be here. What a joke of a company. Won't be back here. We ordered 3 family sized pizzas tonight 12/19. The 2 sausage pizzas were fine, the pepperoni was a huge disappointment, the dough was rolled so thin in the center that it couldn't support the cheese and stuck to the bottom of the box, rendering the pizza inedible. We're very good customers I don't know what happened this time. What a waste of money. read more

Pizza here is excellent!!! You can't go wrong with a hand tossed amazing pizza pie. The deep dish is okay, not great in my opinion. Not a fan of the crust or sauce. The appetizers are plentiful and fun too. They have decent fried pickles. Italian beef sandwiches are just as good as homemade. Very tasty. Service is decent too. They have some great people here. Saturday night 5:54 pm ordered 1 cheesburger meal and1 double cheeseburger meal was old an hour to an hour and 20 minutes 735pm called to check on status was told it was in route, 805 pm called and canceled order. Even if it was to get to my home it was in the vehicle for a very minimum of 30 minutes which meant cold food, no thank you. I live 3 minutes away. Very disappointed as this is the second time in a row this has happened, definitely won't order again, there are too many other places to order from. read more

This is one of those times that reading the reviews would have saved me from making a bad decision. I have never had food from this location nor any other in the 6 years I have lived here. Reading the local rag, I saw a coupon and a " BEST OF" award displayed. How could I go wrong. I placed the order for a medium combination pizza and 10 buffalo wings. I walked in to pick up my order, I watched the staff rock and roll in the kitchen. I drove back home and the smell of the pizza and wings was quite nice. As I unpacked my order it looked amazing. I grabbed a piece of the pizza and found the crust was soggy and gummy to taste. The pizza significantly lacked flavor. I went for the wings hoping for a better experience. In my case, looks were deceiving. These were supposed to be buffalo wings, something was definitely a miss, the train to flavor town missed the stop here. Even the blue cheese dressing was weak at best. There was more dressing than there was blue cheese. If this was a reflection of a "Best Of" award, I have to ask who the owner paid off to get the award. Other reviews here mirror my opinion and further state that the Highland location is a better experience. I am hard pressed to revisit after this experience. read more

Talk about night and day! I live in highland and am a huge fan of Langel's highland. Was at a friends house and decided to order from the Schererville location. The quality was so bad I had to call highland to ask if they were affiliated. Do not let the Schererville location steer you away from trying the highland one. Bad customer service on the phone but a lot of that seems to be due to awful phone system and bad processes. Ordered on. 6/4 Jeff was way too busy and puts everyone on hold right away without listening to anything. Their hold has scratchy noise that bothers both my dog and wife when on phone was on speaker. He got the wrong phone number for the order (why can't they get it from caller Id) and rushed over how long it would be to make (maybe 25 or 55 minutes) then hung up. They should take credit cards at restaurant instead of over the phone so it's less stressful for everyone. Owners response was helpful. Wife still likes their pizza a lot so will be back. Wife enjoys pizza, I think papa Aurelio's is better quality. They did take $2 coupon and pizza was ready quickly (on second call back 25 was the right number). read more

If I could put zero stars I would. The absolute most disgusting pizza I have ever tasted. I ended up throwing half the pie out. Tuesday is supposed to be $10 for a medium. When I called to order, I specifically asked the female worker if they offered the $10 medium pizza special. Then I said, I understand I'll be charged for any extra toppings. The worker said yes and she took my order. When I went to pick up my order, the female worker at the front was rude. She informed me my order was almost $40! I asked her about the special and she said it didn't apply to one of my pizzas. Now, I understand that there are exclusions, but she had multiple times to tell me about them. Again, the customer service was just extremely disappointing. While we really like the pizza, the manager lacks basic customer service. I ordered a pizza tonight and had a coupon. I arrive to pick up the pizza only to learn the coupon expired 3 days ago. Instead of honoring the coupon and telling me to watch the dates the manager stuck to her guns and said no. It wasn't a scannable coupon- she even said "oh we send coupons out all the time". The saving grace to tonight were the two girls who were cooking the pizza and went out of their way to make me happy with my pizza. Langels pizza is my absolute favorite. I love the homemade crust and the crumbled sausage. They also have a nice appetizer menu as well. The hot wings are very good and perfect for watching the game. This might possibly be the WORST pizza I ever had. The crust was thick and tough and it bubbled up while baking so all of the cheese and sauce pooled to certain areas so about 80 percent of the pizza was just nasty crust. Disgusting! flavorless sauce and the cheese was like rubber. Don't waste your money for this crap. I have been eating at Langel's for years and grew up eating their pizza. I had the worst experience today and honestly not sure I ever want to go back. The schererville location advertises on online menu dining in (I usually go to the highland location). We had a toddler with us so went to the pizza side and asked if it was okay to sit and eat, they have tables in there. They said nobody ever eats in but we could. We ordered the pretzel bites and a large pizza. The pretzel bites came out barely warm and the beer cheese was cold with a bunch of uncooked bacon on it. I asked for a water and they said they didn't have any, they could ask the bar but would probably take a long time. When the waitress came back I said I would go ahead and get a pepsi and they said you have to pay for that, yeah I Know that's how it works. The pizza came out and the crust was thicker than I ever seen, there was barely any sausage on half of it and the pizza just had no flavor. We were clearly inconveniencing them by eating in and it showed throughout our entire experience. When we tried to ask for a knife and fork and another pop the lady turned around and walked away before we could even finish and she only heard the knife. I've had Langel's many times and have never been disappointed. However, like in another review, it depends on the location. Highland is probably the best, where Schererville falls a little short. I actually am not a fan of their signature crumble sausage. It makes the pizza taste more like a gritty hamburger casserole dish than a pizza. So, I ordered the sausage chunk style with pepperoni, and it was much better. Tip: make sure you specify how you want your sausage when you order. With all that being said, Langel's gets the job done. The pizza I got was just a little inconsistent from piece to piece. Some had firmer crust where other spots were doughy. Some had full toppings, other did not. More cheese and sausage versus less, etc. You get the point. The flavor is slightly above average and different enough to set it apart from other region spots. It is a balanced sweet to savory sauce with a smooth consistency. The cheese is not too salty and adequate. The sausage I felt was a little under seasoned but was very juicy. This location is pretty much carry out only, but has a window that serves Buddy and Pal's next door. If I was plastered enough to forget that I was actually in Buddy and Pal's, I'd probably order this and be the best pizza ever. Langel's is quick to pickup and convenient in Schererville. Try out their crumble sausage and you might really like it. I know a lot of people who are big fans. read more

Awful!!!! We ordered delivery and received dried out over cooked wings, and instead of ranch they gave us Caesar dressing.... the salad was wilted and they gave us the wrong dressing. The spaghetti barely had any marinara on it and the meatballs were dry. My husband's Italian beef was ok. I called the manager regarding our order. She did offer to credit us for next time...only after telling me that I was mistaken... that my wings weren't over cooked...that it was the breading...I'm pretty sure I know what breading looks like vs dried out overcooked winds. I previously patronized the langels in highland for 6 years. I never received such crappy food. When highland's langels made a mistake they would come right back out to fix the situation.
