We enjoyed watching folks play games (pool, basketball, skee ball, and many many more all available here), and our beverages before moving on for the evening. The bartenders are used to high volume and take care of everyone at the bar quickly. It can get pretty busy in the later hours of the night, after concerts, and on weekends, but it is always homey feeling and a great way to start or end the night. Joey's is the ideal neighborhood bar spot. It's good for a quiet and sunny drink on the way home from work, a let's-close-this-place-down bender after a rockin' night watching Harry Potter at the RPO, or a packed-to-the-brim Halloween costume contest (the second place prize still hangs in my den). I'm never disappointed with the draft list--there always seems to be something new and interesting, as well as reliable standbys. They post to beermenus, and you can subscribe to e-mail updates. Food can be ordered from Richmond's across the street (sometimes they have awesome seasoned fries) or from Schiano's pizza (they'll deliver!).
