She got hers with mushrooms and mine with none. Despite it being a crazy busy Friday night we got our pizzas within about 15 minutes and headed to her place. By the time I started to dig in my pizza had gotten a little cold, but it still tasted amazing. The cheese had a rich smoky flavor and the sauce was slightly salty and full of tomatiness! While other kinds of mushrooms have a milder flavor that brings out the meat flavor in a pizza, shitake mushrooms overpower the rest of the flavor of the pizza.
