I called ahead to ask if they sold varilux lenses. They said yes. When I arrived and asked about them a few days later I was bluntly asked why I would want varilux lenses. Because my dr suggested them. They did not sell those. The clerk had a chip on her shoulder from the start. She brought up my insurance information and loudly announced to the room that I had no insurance. Actuality I did have benefits but for some reason she could not see them. She didn't try to call. I suspected a mistake and asked for a quote. She acted like I was nuts. But a long patter of hard sell with an extremely long detail of the 4 possible lens coatings I asked for a written quote. She snapped at me. I realized I had offended her and tried to apologize and she was even more rude. As I quietly got my prescription and apologized again she was making rude comments as I walked out the door. I have no idea about the doctors. I just needed new lenses and glasses. Of glasses they assured me they carried there were 3 frames they actually had. One red and 2 silver. One was so dirty I could not see out of the right lens. I just drove 40 more minutes to cedar park and found a huge assortment of frames with varilux lenses at lens crafter where a lovely person pulled up my vision benefits and sold me some kickass glasses. From other reviews I assume the eye Doctor is very good. However I can't say much for the staff. They must not want new business, because my calls go to voice mail and are never returned, except with a text. My return text was never responded to and I also put in a appointment request through their "request for an appointment online" link, all with no response. I guess I will take my business elsewhere! read more

This was the best visit to an eye doctor that I've ever had. Everyone was very friendly. I'm usually feel awkward in these situations, but everyone made me feel comfortable. They also gave me valuable information about the contacts I had been wearing and gave me ones that feel so much better already. I was given a year's supply of contacts. Other places I've gone to have only given me a pack at a time and made it very inconvenient for me, so this was great. They were also happy to print out my prescription and all of my info that I needed (other places I've been to have surprisingly not done this). I was very happy with my visit overall and if I'm still around Lampasas when I'm ready for my next eye visit...I will definitely be going here again! read more

Great staff; delightfully personable was my visit with Dr. Lori DeJarnett. Dr. Prescott was also fantastically kind on a previous visit. Photographs showing within my eyes were especially neat to see the progression/comparison of changes. Pleasant and professional people and very nice lobby and office. My first time in and it will not be my last time. I use to drive all the way to Austin for my eye exams. The Doctor & Staff were professional and they just seemed happy to be there. I was conflicted about this review, on one hand they were very nice to me, Dr. got the prescription perfect, but still this was a very expensive $700+ mistake that should have never happened...yet, not even a reply to my email I received...basically, they got my money...I just have 3 pairs of glasses that only do half what they could do... I let you see my email to them: I am beyond disappointed in the glasses ordering part of it and almost decided to give up and dealt with it...but I did a bit of research and basically my heart stopped once I realize I know own over $700 of mostly useless glasses that if I was given the right choice, I would have 3 pair of great glasses...I wanted glasses I could use for all, we settled on progressives... first pair was done way wrong to the point that I could not see without tilting my head to one side... bad lab, second pair... one of my needs was to be able to drive and ride my bike, I was clear about that, my first set of progressives arrived, i noted right away I could not see the sides, nor my mirrors...again, the big item was that I need to drive and ride...I am sure I was not the only person that had those requirements...on that, I purchased a more expensive frame specifically because I was told the "blurry" was due to the frame curve...yet, If I would have received a regular or better yet a driving progressive, there would not have been an issue... but again, I was given another beginners progressive and not even a mention of another choice. at that point, I believed I that could not use progressives, so what I have now are 3 glasses that I can see good while I drive, but pretty much anything in the car is blurry, you know...warning signs, phone, maps...I clearly noted that some of my friends with progressives did not have these issues when looking at the sides... but I was told that it was me no mention of other types... I was treated great, why I would not believe this office that was so nice to me...sadly that was not the case... guess what, I was given "beginners" ones...I get it, first time...but after every time that I mentioned I needed to drive and see, why I was not shown any other versions of it???After many times me saying that I needed to see the sides...I should have been given an option for the the "regular"...but wait, now I know there are other versions of it, besides the Regular and Beginners... there is actually a...yup, a drivers progressive, where is specifically designed for...yes, driving...to see....yes, mirrors, exactly what I asked for... but even then, again... once I complained about the sides being blurry, it was blamed on the curved glasses, yet when I paid for a more expensive frame, again the issue was there....another chance to switch to the regulars.... Why I was not offered this at this time??? I am deeply troubled, I want to contact my card issuer, but I am deeply troubled that such a great service for everything else...yet basically at no point I was told about other options, more troubling is that after I specifically stated that I wanted to see my mirrors I was not even told about the regular ones, all I knew about progressives was what I was told by your office, i deferred to your knowledge, you were the experts...yet, the key words of me not seeing the mirrors were ignored over and over, now I have 3 pairs of frames, .I am typing this as I am wearing a driving progressive set, I went online and ordered it, because I need it to make sure it was not me, and guess what, just like my friends that did not have issues on the sides, I too can see mirrors and dint need to turn my head. I am very conflicted on what to do as my next step, extremely upset...and the fact that this was over $700 mistake because I was not given an option is making it worse by the minute! I did not wanted to do this in person for the respect to other patients and the fact that I was treated nice...but, again... I would be working on getting my next set if I was given the right choice. My visit was just fine, however my experience after the fact has been aweful! The office decided what to bill and not to bill my insurance resulting in an error on their part and an overcharge on my contact lenses. After numerous calls I have yet to receive my refund check! My visit was in Aug. and we are now in Dec. I would be very cautious before you take your business here and know what your insurance covers and make sure they bill your insurance appropriately! read more
