    Acre Wood Dental

I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new dentist. I liked that Acre Wood had several…read moreoffices in case I had an emergency I should be able to get in. I went to the office in Gatesville. From the time I walked in the door everyone was so nice. It was like being around friends. They explained what was going on with my teeth and talked about a plan going forward. I liked Acre Wood Dental so much as soon as I got in my truck I called my wife and told her she needed to get an appointment.

However, when I went to Acre Wood Dentist in 2022, I could not have been in better hands. I had to have partials made and it was done in short time, they fit perfectly and I have had not one issue with them. I made an appt a few weeks ago for a chip in my tooth, and I knew soon it would break. I asked for a crown to be put on it. They used a camera on the tip of a wand to sketch a photo to the computer and send it to whoever makes the partials/ false teeth and crowns. Well, turns out it was big, and that's the Dr.'s words. He proceeded to put it on without showing me how big it was, asked how it felt (I did not have partials on at the time) I said ok. He proceeded to cement the crown in. When I tried to put my partials back in, it was a tight fit. But by then I was ready to get the heck out of there, I had things to do, and it is a long drive to my house (47 + miles one way). After the weekend, I called and asked to speak to the manager and was told they would make me an appt. I was a little rude and told her no, not good enough, I want to speak to the manager. I was told the manager was in Temple that day. I said have her call me back. The call came in about an hour later and we talked. So, she said, what would you like us to do to fix this issue. I told her to yank the tooth out since they can't just pull the crown off at this point. She made the appt. Now the fun really comes in. I went back in, and they get their magic wand out and go over every bit of my mouth, top and bottom. They would call and have me come in when they arrive. I went back in, the tech gave me deadened the area and when the Dr. came in, he gave me another injection that lifted me out of my seat. Apparently, he struck a nerve and kept going until HE was satisfied. After a few minutes he proceeded to yank the tooth out and I have to say, as rough as he was, it was necessary. Then he put the partial in. Showed it to me. It looked better but it was a very tight fit. He then took it out and had me put it in. I struggled but got it in, along with my numb upper lip. I took it back out and moved my lip and I got it in. I said it's very tight. But that was the end of my session. When the numbness disappeared, I was in so much pain and have been for a while. It's been 5 days now and on the third day, I took them out and have not put them in since. They are way too tight and was causing some of the pain. So, I have been wearing my old partials since which took away some pain. Now I have residual pain from the second shot and wakes me up in the middle of the night, some during the day and I have taken so much Advil, I wish I owned the Advil company, I could be rich! Saturday, I had been awake since 12:30 at night, about 6 in the morning, I rinsed with salt water, again. Then I put my old partials in and the only pain I have had since then, is where the nerve runs. I took the partials out, put it side by side with the new partials and OMG! You can see a big difference in the gum area between the two. The older ones have a thinner gum and the gum line to the teeth are perfect. The new ones were thick! No wonder I couldn't hardly get them in or out. So, with all this being said, the recommendation I have would be to go back to the putty to get the dimensions accurate. The camera lies! It doesn't not tell the exact dimensions. So, I am carefully thinking, should I give Acre Wood one more try to get it right? Or should I find a Dentist office that uses the putty to make the partials? I already paid for the crown and installation, and Acre Wood agreed to put the money I already paid towards the partials. It only cost me another 249. I'm tired from lack of sleep from all the pain. And I wonder how they could screw up a third time. I will wait to see what they have to say before I make up my mind.
