I would like to start by saying Dr. Esters is a fine doctor. His staff however, falls very short. I…read morehave had 3 bad experiences involving the staff. First they told me I needed to be dilated so my husband took a day off work to drive me. Then they did not dilate me and said it was my mistake. I had the apt. card where it was highlighted. They just laughed and said sorry. Next I was to have a procedure and I waited for 45 minutes went in to have it done and they said sorry they did not have the right stuff to do it. I did not reschedule. Lastly I went into pay a bill and the front desk clerk charged me twice. I caught it and ask her to fix it. She didn't know how. She ask the office manager and said it was fixed. I called the bank today and they had not turned in a cancellation so now I had to dispute it. It was not a large amount like my previous bill or I would have been short on money. So 3 times your out. Still waiting to hear back from the office manager.....

His a joke. I waited 2 hours in the room before he show up. The nurse did a test on my first visit…read more On my second visit John Esters did the same test. In a meanwhile I'm paying. He told me I need more testing, this time I needed to do images. They did the images ( I have to pay for the emages) and then he refers me to a specialist in Austin. He had nothing to say after he got the emages. I asked him some questions and he could not answer me. Now the specialist is telling me they have to do the same emages. Are they serious? Because the eye Dr. John Esters didn't send them anything. So I went to him for nothing and pay a lot , now he send me to the specialist. I would advise anyone not to go there. He won't do anymore you.

Tuesday my wife was scheduled for an appointment at 4pm with her primary care doctor at Scott and…read moreWhite South Clear Creek in Killeen. She received a phone call early in the day informing her that her appointment had been moved to noon, which caused her to reschedule all her business appointments for that day as she had already been stressing about getting her results from the doctor and did not want to delay it any further. Upon arrival she was checked in by Alex the receptionist and when called up to do her triage and vitals, the receptionist called her back to the front to inform her there was an issue with her insurance and she assured the receptionist that her insurance was up to date. The receptionist insisted it was not up to date and became very nasty in her tone and body language. My wife told her I can not afford to miss this appointment or wait any longer for my results, and even offered to pay the cost of the appointment to ensure that she got seen before the doctor left for the day at 12:30. The receptionist continued to be nasty saying I can't do that and that's not how that works. My wife called insurance and verified that she was covered and by the time she got off phone and showed the receptionist proof, the receptionist refused to allow her to proceed with appointment because her appointment time had passed. My wife pointed out that she had checked in on time and the receptionist argued that she had not checked her in yet. My wife pointed out that she had already done her vitals and triage, how does this happen if I'm not checked in? She insisted she was not checked in and refused to allow her to see doctor. My wife asked her to inform the doctor why she was unable to be seen and the receptionist said I'm not doing that right now. She asked to speak to a supervisor and the girl got up went and had a conversation with a co-worker joking and laughing and talking about my wife, then walked around for a while and finally comes back and says supervisor can't see you now and then asked security to come to her. She told security the issue and security was like what do you want me to do about it and Alex gave no answer. Before leaving, my wife asked the supervisor if he could let provider know why she was unable to see her and the security guard said no problem and immediately sent a text. My wife did say to the receptionist as she left was that so fucking hard? Further the next available appointment is in January when my wife has already waited months for this appointment. The waiting on her results already had her anxiety through the roof, and this situation multiplied to the point that she had a panic attack, her anxiety and heart rate were so elevated. These people at Scott and White are so mean and nasty and don't care about their patients and forget that their job is to help people not compound the stress the patient is already dealing with. You never know what people are dealing with and what might be their breaking point especially when you are working in the health industry where you are supposed to support people in a time of need not add to their stress. This behavior is completely unacceptable. Additionally my wife spoke to Jordan the manager today and she completely supported the receptionist Alex's behavior and refused to acknowledge any poor behavior on her part. She even went so far as to say that Alex said my wife was yelling the entire time and being disrespectful, which was not true. She only made the one comment as she left after dealing with the stress and disrespectful behavior of Alex. This has been a trend with Scott and White and is obviously the culture of the company.
