Such an amazing breakfast! Was craving chilaquiles and found this place on Yelp. We got there at 11:30am on a Saturday and it was half full. The waitstaff were friendly and took our order promptly. The chilaquiles were perfect right in between crispy and soggy with delicious sauce and eggs with runny yolk. I'm so glad I found a place outside of southern CA to get my chilaquiles fix! Early Saturday morning, stopped by this restaurant for something new for brunch. Atmosphere is different from most of the stops on Roosevelt Avenue, also plenty of seating available. Got a table for three and was immediately given menus by the server. Started off with a coffee ($2.50) and a mimosa ($8). Coffee is strong and they offer free refills. Mimosa is equally strong (lots of champagne) but not overwhelmingly so. For food, ordered the Chicken & Cakes ($13) - two fluffy pancakes topped by a giant fried chicken breast as well as bacon pieces. Threw some syrup on top and the combination was quite tasty. Team here is super friendly and the food is something the area sorely lacked. Will definitely come back for more. read more

This place is the *real deal* and deserves our business. Food is very fresh and beautifully prepared. Mole enchiladas, veggie burger and crispy chicken sandwich are all out of this world. Also the service is super friendly (shout-out to Rigo & Omar)! They have a full bar now and happy hour - $5 margaritas that are actually good. Lighting is not too bad and thank the Lord there are not TVs killing the vibe (a huge accomplishment in the area). Been here for brunch and dinner - both rocked. Excellent and affordable Mexican brunch spot! I came here with a group on a chilly day in the fall, looking for a breakfast/brunch option that was more upscale than a diner, but wasn't charging Astoria prices. We stumbled upon this place and we're so glad we did. The space is awash in sunlight from their floor to ceiling glass windows, but despite this the restaurant is not cold or drafty at all, even if you sit by the door. Each table had fresh flowers and a baby pumpkin. Lots of open space, with two and four seaters, and booths along the wall. It's a cheerful, bright atmosphere. My friends ordered the Huevos Rancheros and the Chilaquiles, and they raved about both. I ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of bacon. Quality ingredients, nice portions, bold flavors. Service was incredibly attentive and cheerful. Teas, coffees, waters, were refilled constantly and with a smile. One of our favorite parts of the meal was the bottle of homemade hot sauce they brought out for us, called Morita sauce. It's not super hot, but it has a nice smoky flavor to it and it went good on every entree we ordered. Laly's makes me want to leave my apartment and take advantage of happy hour and delicious plates. (Oh, they JUST got their liquor license too and the margaritas are KILLER!) They're also a regular for home delivery and we just can't get enough of this Mexican place. Low key, spacious restaurant with friendly staff and amazing service. It is more like 3.5 stars. The food was good, I had the beef cemita. I ordered it well done but it was not well done all the way, if you are picky like me you know it makes a difference. The cemita had very very little papalo. I did not like that. Otherwise it was tasty. Their house red sauce was tasty. I am not sure why the waiter made emphasis on "it is free" (that was a bit weird) The guacamole was average and the chips were thin. The one big complaint I have is the temperature. It was very hot inside, I was sweating and I could not focus on enjoying my conversation with my friends because it was so freaking hot. After dropping by a very well-known taco spot that had a ridiculously long line nearby, I searched up Mexican spots closer to home on Yelp. Instead of heading to the usual spots I'd been to on Roos Ave, I wanted to try Laly's. Upon entering, the place was beautiful, but relatively sparse in terms of diners. We were a little early on a Saturday night, but guys, come give this spot a try! Here's what we ordered: - Esquites: so, so delicious as an appetizer (on the specials menu). It's not canned corn, it was roasted corn off the cob with yummy cojito cheese and chipotle mayo, among other spices. - Fish tacos: this was recommended to us by our server. They were so reasonably priced we got two orders (three tacos each order). My bf figured he'd finish whatever food I couldn't (the cornerstone of our relationship). That didn't happen: the tacos were so good! Fresh, not too overloaded with ingredients, and simply refreshing. - Veggie quesadilla: came with a flight of condiments, spicy mayo-ish sauce, guac, and salsa. It was amazing and had lots of zucchini, mushroom, and cheese. Highly recommend. Our server was super attentive throughout, and offered up some other favorites for our next visit. Laly's has does not have hole-in-the-wall decor, but has hole-in-the-wall-like prices. Fail 1: Refusal to adjust the salad order ~3 minutes after the waiter placed it. Cmon guys, it's a salad- too late to change? BS. Fail 2: over-cooked burger (med-rare order was cooked well done). Most places get this wrong & don't even bother to ask how you want it cooked. But if a customer asks for a certain doneness & you say ok, then it should be cooked to specification. I had never been to the McDonald's that was here before Laly's. And to be entirely honest, I don't eat at too many places along Roosevelt Ave. at all. But the early whisperings were promising, so I felt like I needed to make the journey two avenues south to see what this was all about. After all, they have my favorite breakfast dish: Eggs Benedict. I can say with utter and complete confidence that this place is worth your time, money, and tummy. The interior is quiet and admittedly a bit sparse, but it was thoughtfully designed nonetheless. It'd definitely benefit from some art on the walls. Once you get past that you're greeted by some of the friendliest staff I've ever encountered. They even pour the water with classic poise. My coffee never bottomed out for more than a couple of minutes, and I never wanted for anything. And then there's the food. Oh the food. It's not going to win a James Beard award, but they certainly go toe-to-toe with the best in the neighborhood. I've been twice so far for breakfast, and I thoroughly enjoyed both the chilaquiles and salmon eggs Benedict (Norwegian). Both possessed so much flavor (it's real easy to mess up hollandaise sauce) and came out of the kitchen promptly. There's a lot of space, but not many bodies. So, the cooks likely aren't working at full sprint, giving them the luxury to perfect the dishes that leave the kitchen in a timely manner. I sincerely hope Laly's gets the business it deserves. Because they've successfully pulled a piece of my heart away from another neighborhood spot whose name starts with a Q. Both are great, for different reasons. But they're crushing it over on Northern Blvd. This underdog on Roosevelt Ave. deserves to be just as prosperous. My friends and I walked into Laly's for an impromptu Saturday brunch, and we were delightfully surprised at how amazing the food was. Located on Roosevelt Ave., it's easy to overlook Laly's, which I did the many times I passed by it, but I'm so glad that exceeded my expectations. My party of 4 ordered a roasted chicken quesadilla, 2 cemita burgers, and a chicken Swiss sandwich. We also ordered Roosevelt Avenue Corn which was well seasoned with a generous spread of cheese and mayo. All the food was delicious and flavorful. Absolutely the BEST Fish Taco's in NYC. I've tried fish tacos in other places but NO ONE can compare. Here, everything is perfection, the way the fish is fried, the mango salsa, the added sauce, even the tortilla itself is truly flavorful. I come all the way from Brooklyn to Elmhurst just for these tacos. I also just had their Mojito and it is really good as well, better than a lot of places as well. This is not your typical mexican restaurant but instead adds an american flare to their menu . Although their menu was limited the food options were well thought out . From burgers to salads and authentic mexican dishes , rest assured there is an option for anyone which is a plus .Their menu diverse and filled with vegetarian options which i appreciate :) We started off with the buffalo wings as an appetizer which were delicious and tasty . For our main entrees my boyfriend had the steak frites (med rare) and I ordered the salmon with red quinoa and beets with a side of sautéed broccoli . The food overall was excellent and full of flavor but when we received our food it was warm like it had been sitting for a bit and not hot like it should have been . The place was not crowded so i don't really know why our food temperature was warm but a suggestion to be worked on . Overall Food 5/5 for flavor . Just a authentic American Mexican place. As it just got opened- I thought why not try this on. Just a basic food. We had the pancake and tortiyas something. I must say their pancake is something, they really need to change the recipe for this. It was not fluffy enough (pretty hard). The other dish was also so-so!! I would rate Laly's as 4 stars or "Yay! I'm a fan" as Yelp would say. I came here for brunch and was pleased with my meal. I started with the biscuits and I will say that the biscuits are absolutely delicious. I loved them they are most definitely worth ordering. For our brunch entrees we ordered the short ribs eggs Benedict and the steak and eggs. The short rib was delicious, it was a hearty dish that will most definitely leave you satisfied. The steak on the other hand was not as delicious as the short rib. In fact it was rather disappointing. I love Mexican food and I would love to come back here for dinner but I would not order the steak I would stick to chicken, seafood or short rib. Although we didn't enjoy the steak we did enjoy everything else so I don't want to completely cancel this place out. I came to Laly's the first time when I was feeling under the weather and searched "chicken soup near me." It just so happened that the flavor and healing properties came very close to my Mom's homemade chicken soup. That being said, I proceeded to order the chicken enchiladas, and they were sprinkled with fresh avocado slices - a refreshing departure from enchiladas drowning in cheese! The vibe is traditional yet fresh, and I always look forward to the tiny vase of colorful (and real) flowers on my table. The servers are also very friendly and attentive - you'll never have to ask for a coffee or tea refill! I was also moved by an uplifting, nostalgic music selection - UB40, Dave Matthews Band, Gorillaz, just to name a few - and ended up returning a week later for their banana pancakes. The pancakes were super thick and sprinkled with walnuts, and despite the flavor I couldn't finish them all! Very nice, clean Mexican restaurant ( formerly McDonald's) on the corner of Roosevelt Ave.& 76th St. We ordered guacamole for starters and Fish tacos. The food was delicious and came quickly. The lunch was perfect and prices were good, too. We will definitely go back again for lunch. We can walk over from where we live, which is a plus, too. Climbing stairs is difficult for older folks. I was most excited to try the burger - which is instagram awesome and have heard lots of raves about it. I actually thought it was just okay! They have a ton of flavors going on there and it definitely has a backyard bbq taste to it - smokey with American cheese... it's probably the most deluxe backyard bbq burger you'll ever have. I think the burger could be more juicy itself and maybe that is bc they are trying too hard with the grass-fed burger. I'd just try for juicy one. I do think there is a cultural difference in burgers, though, as most Americans south of Texas prefer burgers on the non-red side. So whatever. The fries were excellent, almost a twin of All-American in Long Island. Chilaquiles and tacos are great and priced about the highest in the neighborhood. It really isn't expensive on the grand scheme of things but for the neighborhood, it is quite high. That's $12 for 3 tacos. Really, it's fine and I shouldn't even care bc we are in an actual restaurant and not outside with the elements... so I won't care but I had to share it. Would I come back? I might with my brother and his family. I might if there was one particular item I heard about that was supposed to be outstanding. This place would do great if it were transplanted near Times Square. Tourists would LOVE the food and the prices here are fine for that. They really are trying and it shows. read more

Great neighbourhood addition! I've lived in Jackson Heights all my life and I'm so excited to see places like Laly's now opening around this area. It took me a while to stop in and now I regret not going sooner. In the past month I've been there 3 times already and each time they've delivered. The service is friendly, quick and accommodating and the place is comfortable, open and well kept. Lastly and always most importantly is the food - absolutely delicious! We've ordered different drinks, came for both brunch and dinner and each time, we left extremely content. I love fish tacos which are a hard find in NYC unless you're paying like $8 a taco. Laly's fish tacos are SO. Good. Are they fancy schmancy? No. But it is spot-on, simply delicious. I've gotten them every time I've gone and will continue to do so until I become a fish taco. My husband is not as ridiculous as me so he's gotten some brunch items like the burger, the cemita and the fish dinner. And yes, everything was delicious so I'm left to believe that whatever you're craving, you can't go wrong. Great food and service for brunch. I had the shrimp and eggs and it was good as well as filling. The brunch specials also come with a drink of your choice, including OJ and coffee. The Nutella pancakes were also good, but need more Nutella. I also don't understand why there's no Nutella inside the pancake itself either, it's just smeared on top. This is a lovely little Mexican/Mexican American restaurant in Jackson Heights. All the food here is delicious. I particularly enjoyed my cemitas burger: a juicy patty, quesillo, avocado, and bean spread between two fluffy, toasted buns.
