That was the best thing that could have happened, because Dr Bolerjack and his staff have just fitted me with my retainers that I only wear at night,--I am finished and my teeth look great after less than a year. I had to wait until my 30's before finally getting braces. My dentist at the time highly recommended Dr. Jeff Dykes at Lakeway Orthodontics, where I received excellent care and was amazed at how quickly my teeth were straightened! My case was such, however, that it took a long time to correct my bite, and halfway through my treatment Dr. Dykes retired. As my teeth get straighter and straighter I feel more and more compelled to yelp about my experience with Dr. Jeff Dyke's and his team over at Lakeway Orthodontics. My assumption is I'm one of the few yelpers for Lakeway Ortho because most of their clients have Beiber Fever and are more worried about "Call of Duty" reviews than the health and aesthetics of their teeth. I'll start with the look and feel of the office and waiting area. Both are nicer than almost any other health related office I've ever been to. You'll notice first class furniture and custom office fixtures that are beautiful yet functional. Also, he runs all his software on Macs (as do I) which also adds to the sleek, nice look. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. Lindsey is always helpful and chatty when I arrive. No one ever shoves a clipboard at you and barks the procedures as if you are just another soulless being to get in and out. It's tough calling Dr. Dykes, "Dr. Dykes", because he's young and easy to talk to. You find yourself comfortable in a chair known for discomfort. Dr. Dykes recommended Invisalign to me. I wasn't sure. I conceded and now I'm happy I did. People rarely notice I have them and after a few months my teeth are already straighter than I thought possible in such a short amount of time. Knowing that Dr. Dykes is a perfectionist I expect to be doing commercials for Colgate by the end of the year. As a registered dental hygienist, I get asked pretty often who I suggest for a orthodontist.  Although I see beautiful work coming from several orthodontists in this area, I cannot be happier that I choose Lakeway Orthodontics for my son.  Here is his beautiful smile now that treatment is complete. From his smile, eye contact, and enthusiasm, it's very obvious that he really enjoys is work. 2. Trustworthy: Through high school and college, I worked for orthodontists. From what I have seen with my own eyes and heard from other patients, he is a man of his word.  3. He is a great listener.  As a hygienist, I see patients 50 years after they leave his practice. The permanent retainer he is placing behind lower front teeth when they are done with treatment is much easier to clean than the other ones that most orthodontists are putting on. I love an orthodontist who can help our patients floss! 4. He's a perfectionist. He could have taken off my son's braces a few months earlier when my son would have been a hundred percent happy! When I first started my search for an orthodontist, I wanted something affordable, flexible, trusting, and helpful. I got that and much more when I first visited Dr. Dykes. The first time I called, I was clueless what to ask, but luckily, the assistant was patient and very helpful. She answered all my questions except for one and told me someone would call me back with an answer. I thought "yea right" and just said ok thank you. To my surprise, they did in fact call me back. I was not able to answer my phone, but they left a message. I never return their call, so they called me three more times until I picked up. I can't express how great Dr. Dykes is. I was his patient in Houston before he opened his practice in Austin. Even back then he was extremely professional and courteous. After only about a year and a half of braces I had a beautiful smile and perfectly straight teeth. Flash forward a couple of years. I'm in school at UT and break my retainer. Remembering that Dr. Dykes mentioned he wanted to open his practice in Austin, I decide to look him up. The whole process was very professional and efficient. His staff is extremely friendly and professional. Moreover, his office is high tech yet inviting! I felt very comfortable there. In addition, the patients who were there at the same time seemed to be very relaxed and comfortable. The best part is Dr. Dykes remembered me! He had saved all my information and was able to pull up all my old molds, pictures and photos! In no time he had me fitted for a brand new retainer! We moved to the Lakeway area from Dallas in 2010 and my son was almost done with his orthodontic treatment. Our Dallas orthodontist was horrible about our move and insisted that we travel 6 hours round trip for appointments rather than refund us any of our almost $6000 that we had paid him to finish treatment close to home. Well that wasn't going to work so we came to Lakeway Orthodontics. Dr. Dykes offered us a "more than fair" rate to take his braces off, deal with retainer issues and periodic checkups. He even noticed a slight shift on his lower teeth recently and offered to put braces on for 6 months at NO additional cost! He is awesome and his staff is beyond, helpful, friendly and knowledgeable.
