We had out of town company and wanted to treat them to a nice dinner. What a disappointment. We were served mediocre food, extremely slow and inattentive service and all at primo prices. This is the 2nd time this has happened in the past month and we won't be returning. Improvement is need in every aspect and maintenance on the tables and chairs is needed. We made a reservation for Thanksgiving day and were seated within 10 minutes of our appointed time. We sar at the bar until our table was ready. We had questioned the quality of the food because it was a buffet at 2:00 PM. However, the buffet was very comforting in that dishes were tasty moist and warm with a southern flair. Location is beautiful, plenty of parking and the restaurant is clean with plenty of seating for any size group. Service was good, we were waited on hand a foot, the staff was very attentive, no complaints there. Unfortunately the only downside was the food was absolutely atrocious. My partner and I hardly touched ANY of our food and it wasn't worth taking home. Waste of time and money. Left still hungry and unsatisfied. In retrospect, I take responsibility for not acknowledging the problem with our food to management, perhaps we could've still ended on a high note. I do also believe it is partially the servers job to be intuitive and observant. If guests aren't having more than a bite of ANY of the food, there is likely a problem and maybe someone could've asked what we thought or what could have made it better/edible. We were still obviously charged for everything, while experience left a bad taste in my mouth, literally. This was over summer so it's possible things have changed, I wouldn't discourage someone from trying it out and enjoying this lovely location, I just wanted to give my two cents. read more

Lake views were my main attraction!! The upbeat "social" vibe is evident the minute you walk in the door. If you decide to go before 4, you are restricted to bar area, but that is not a problem! Salmon was overcooked, but the honey-crust somewhat made up for it. The purée was kinda bland, and I feel like the carrots would be better if roasted. I did like the cream - it had a refreshing taste to it. Funnily, I liked the bread more than the salmon. The lava cake was good, but REALLY heavy. They don't respond and remove or block all true reviews on Facebook. Sitting at the bar like a ghost in plain sight, I'm starting to wonder--am I the problem? My boss told me to be more transparent... pretty sure I took that literally, because apparently I'm now fully invisible. Good thing I brought a date with an actual voice, or we'd be trapped in silent film territory. Then a new couple walks in--bam! Immediate service, eye contact, smiles, bread. Are they bartending royalty? Cousins? Secret investors? Because they're chatting it up like it's a family reunion. Meanwhile, I'm over here sipping water like it's moonshine, wondering if the bartender can smell that I'm not from Bella Vista. Just a lonely traveler from another town... with hunger... and feelings. Oh! She did toss us a pity glance over her shoulder while offering the Chosen Ones a bread basket: "Y'all want some bread too?" Ma'am, I would've sold my soul for some sourdough ten minutes ago. Honestly, we've had more interaction from the food runners. Another bartender emerged from the shadows--but plot twist: she also doesn't speak to the invisible. Midway through the meal, someone remembered we existed and asked how the food was. I almost wept. Maybe I'm not Casper after all--just an NPC without dialogue. Turns out the favored couple does know the bartender. Gifts were exchanged. G I F T S. Note to self: next time, bring a present or a goat sacrifice. We made a reservation one day prior, and when we arrived our reservation was confirmed, but they informed us they just didn't have a table for us, and would we mind a table in the Tasting room (bar). On arrival to the bar, we found it very loud and chaotic. No thanks. We left. Our date was ruined. Very unprofessional and disappointing experience! What good was making a reservation? Very disappointing experience with hostesses & manager. We've been a regular customer of Lake-point restaurant for years and made a reservation last night for 6:30. We traditionally sit in the main area to the rear of the restaurant with the beautiful view of the lake and our favorite servers. This is the main reason we go to the restaurant. We were looking forward to another great experience with our friends. What a disappointment when we were not given an option to sit in this area when there were a dozen or more tables that were empty. My husband asked why we couldn't sit there and was told we had no choice we had to sit in the bar area although the restaurant was mostly empty. I do understand the reasoning of attempting to balance the server load but we did make a reservation and don't understand the reasoning in demanding that we sit in an area that we specifically requested not to sit. It would have been different if the restaurant was busy but it was not busy by any means. After we were seated and our friends arrived, we were ordered to leave. Apparently the young immature hostesses felt my husband was being rude although he didn't raise his voice or say anything offensive or derogatory just voiced his disappointment. Lesson learned: like a kindergarten classroom customers are assigned seating and can't request changes. And to add to the negative experience, the hostess smirked and laughed as we were exiting the restaurant dazed and confused. *Rebuttal to the response. No foul language was used and no the view is not the same. As previously stated the restaurant was mostly empty with plenty of open tables. This action was unreasonable, unjustified & unnecessary since after we were told there was no other option, we sat where we were directed and did not cause a fuss. I witnessed the discussion and no foul language was used regardless of what was stated. This is incorrect. No worries though, we will never go back as long as the management remains the same. She did not even give the courtesy of coming to our table and informing us and sent her bar manager instead. Overreacting only caused unnecessary and hostile action towards four long term repeat guests & it was definitely not a welcoming experience as our request for different seating would have been honored instead of forcing us to sit in the bar area instead of the main restaurant. read more

Went for Valentine's Day with a reservation days ahead. They couldn't get a table ready quickly and the service was so bad that all we could do was laugh. It was one of the most frustrating dining experiences I've had in a long time. When we were finally seated, it 15 minutes just to get water, and even longer for our server to take our drink order. The service only got worse as the night went on. Our server was inattentive, rarely checking in, and we had to flag someone down multiple times just to get basic things like water refills and bread. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. The staff seemed indifferent, offering no apology or effort to make up for the mistakes. read more

Came here for the view and dinner since I love eating near any body of water. The sunset was beautiful, and anywhere you sit in this place you'll have a view of it. The appetizers were delicious we had the mushrooms and the crab cakes. I was so full I couldn't finish my Entre. Also, the chicken sandwich is really 2 sandwiches in one. So you could totally share. This is one of those establishments where the view and the service are the top selling points. Take this restaurant away from the lake and I doubt it would survive a year. No lie- the view was amazing. The wine selection was nice and surprisingly reasonable. Our server was friendly, polite, and super helpful. However, the food definitely left something to be desired. The rolls were delicious- I buy them at the grocery store all the time. Look for Sister Schubert Yeast Rolls in the freezer section. The "chef's veggies" are also clearly from a frozen bag. Our entrees were okay, but nothing to really justify the exorbitant prices. Is it worth a visit? Hell yeah. Sit on the patio at sunset and enjoy a glass of wine. Great location.. but the food is average. Salmon was okay, a little over done. The potatoes well.. pleas go back to regular mashed. Burgers are hard to screw up but they were charred and meat tasted bland.. all the ketchup couldn't help them. The steak frites were not good. We had two people order and they didn't care for them. Went on a Wednesday night with a reservation . It took 45 minutes to get 2 glasses of wine. We had our salads & app before we had utensils or wine. My husband & I split the Caesar salad, Iceberg, (tiny) crab cakes and fish and "potato balls". All decent. Also split what they list as "fish and chips"..."chips" in this instance would be fries to most everywhere else. But here they strangely served roasted potatoes? Decent but not satisfying, when you think you're splurging for fries. We may be back only bc the lake view is so pretty & servers were nice. read more

This place is beautiful, has great views, great service and wonderful food. The prices are reasonable for what you get as well. It came highly recommended and definitely didn't disappoint. I ordered the espresso rubbed pork with sweet potatoes and kale- DELICIOUS! My mom got the a burger which she enjoyed. Another friend got steak and raved about it. My mai tai tasted spectacular. Note: the reservations say go through Yelp but I had to call as the system was down. If you are trying to book reservations through Yelp and it says unavailable please call you definitely don't want to miss out. read more

We have returned to Lakepoint a few times since my original review. Still one of the most lovely And relaxing places to hang out in the evening. Skylar on the bar side is engaging and shakes some great drinks. Camila was in the wine bar this time and she was so friendly. The view of the lake from the wine bar, bar patio or the dining patio is just stunning. We snacked on the shiitake mushrooms which are one of the best things on the menu as well as the crabcakes and bacon wrapped scallops - all delicious. I give the staff and the ambience five stars! Everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We have not tried the dinner menu again but will keep you posted... We will definitely try the brunch on Saturday as well. read more

This place has a great location overlooking one of the local lakes and has a lot of space for dining. We made reservations on a Friday night, but we realized quickly that this step was not necessary in securing a table because there was not a lot of customer traffic. However, we were happy to be joining for their happy hour and the outdoor scenery. Our view was a little skewed due to the lack of cleanliness of their windows, but I can only imagine how difficult it is to keep them clean at all times. First, we sat for a few cocktails and appetizers on the restaurant side as there is a tasting room on the other end. Our waitress was very sweet and efficient. We all shared a few appetizers which included Bacon Jalapeño Shrimp, Crab cakes, and Bruschetta - they were all fairly enjoyable. We decided to venture over to the "Tasting Room", but I will admit, there is nothing special or really different between this room and the main restaurant. They have the same exact food and drink menu, however, you can order a wine flight which is decently priced but the wine was not very good. It tasted stale from maybe the bottles being open for too long. We also sat for at least 40 minutes waiting for the waiter/bartender to take our order. We did ask him to give us a few minutes after sitting down to make a our decisions, but then we had to wave him down to finally pay attention to us. Mind you, there were only 4 tables and we arrived first so that was really not the best experience to start out. Once each of us decided on a small plate entrée, my wife and I were not impressed. The Petite Chopped Steak was pretty lackluster. This place has a great location which is why I'm giving it 3 stars, but I struggle to find the desire to return in the future. read more
