There's a dining patio of sorts when you first enter with a fan and more lighting, but you can walk in further for more air-conditioned seating. We walked in one evening craving a no-frills solid seafood spot and we found it here. You walk in and there's a huge menu billboard and order at the counter, pay, and you get a buzzer and can find a table anywhere! SERVICE Efficient and straightforward...we ordered and within 10 minutes our buzzer rang and we picked up our food on a tray and brought it back. FOOD This is where it delivers! The seafood tastes fresh, seasoned well, and cooked without being overcomplicated. We ordered the grilled plate with rainbow trout that was served with beans, rice, and grilled zucchini and squash vegetables. Loved the grill marks and thought it was very simple, balanced, and cooked just right. We also tried the fried catfish fillet and shrimp with fries and hushpuppies, which came out hot and crispy without feeling greasy or overbreaded. Tasted great with the tartar sauce. We felt the portions were solid for the price and everything feels consistent. We'd heard great things about the key lime pie on here... and it absolutely lived up to it. The slice was generous for the price, and the flavor of the key lime pie filling delivered. It was bright, creamy, and just the right amount of tangy without being too much sweetness. And the crust? Exactly how it should be. You know the kind that crumbles apart...or turns into a rock-hard dense layer you fight through with your fork? Not this one! This one held together but still gave easily with each bite, so you actually get that perfect balance of filling and graham crust every time. I didn't expect to say this but goodness this is the $7.95 pie that gets it right....and if I could buy it as a birthday cake, I would! We got a bunch of food to go: - Fried Catfish: Pretty good, probably the best thing on the menu but it is just a fried fish - Catfish tacos: Do not get these, they are very dry and not flavorful at all - Catfish Bo Boy: We weren't a big fan of this either as it wasn't seasoned and had way too much mayo. - Banana Pudding: It had very fake flavoring and was a little too gelatinous. I adore the decor in here. It's covered wall to wall in singing Billy Bass, most of them decorated/themed. I had the 1 catfish filet basket, which came with hush puppies and fries. I thought the price was really good for seafood. The filet was crispy and I loved the texture. It was well seasoned and flaky. Fries weren't very crisp, but it'll do. I definitely recommend the catfish here. The atmosphere is super casual and there are paper towels and condiments at each table. You order up front and get a buzzer and pick up your own food. I'm appalled that anyone could even stomach this subpar slop. where do I even start?? the calamari was rubbery, cold, and left a bad old oil taste in my mouth. the catfish was soggy, oily, and just overall unpleasant to eat. I ate at a Flying Fish in Little Rock 20 years ago and really enjoyed it. Well for the last 10 plus years, my wife and I have been eating at the one in Bentonville, AR. I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here at all. The gentleman who is in charge is usually at the register. He wears a hat, jeans mustache just a regular guy. But he gets the best out of his employees and is always ready to make sure you get a great meal. My wife loves the Salmon Salad or the fish tacos. I used to be a fried shrimp guy but one day I decided to try the hamburger. I asked him to cook it on the flame grill and omg. I go to a fish place for my hamburgers now! You have to ask specifically for it to be cooked on the flame grill if you want it, I promise you will get a large hamburger with a special taste that fills two hands, Just like the old days, not a little burger that they say is big. Personally I like to get the fried okra as my side. I eat my burger plain just meat and bun, but it will come with mayonnaise, lettuce and tomato if you like.
