We came here for the first time this evening to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Everything was amazing! My ribeye was mouth-watering & cooked to perfection. My wife said her crab cakes were even better than the ones she recently had at a nice restaurant on the upper east coast. The wines were delicious and fairly priced. Marty, our excellent server, comp'ed us a cream brûlée for dessert & also gave us a nice card with a $10 gift card enclosed. The live pianist and comfortable setting created the perfect mood. We can hardly wait to return! read more

Went on a Saturday night early (5:45) and we were fortunate to be able to get in because we did not have reservations. We were a party at 4, two of our party had steaks and sides. I had the smoked chicken and another of our party had crusted mahi-mahi. Everyone enjoyed their food and we all agree we made a great choice going there! Up class decor, nice ambience, live piano music and good service! read more

We chose River Grille for our anniversary. Saturday evening, and had to take the 5 pm spot. Over the years, if asked about best filet in town, without hesitation , River Grille would be our recommendation. The restaurant is tried and true, understated elegance , attentive service. All those things are still true. My husband ordered the wagu special. The meat was very very tender. I had the 7 ounce filet. As usual, we shared tastes, and we really couldn't tell flavor difference between the two meats. The filet is still that good. I also ordered the mushrooms as a side. A very generous portion came and they were fine. Not amazing, but fine. Our waiter treated us to a lovely strawberry cheesecake and we really liked it. It was light and flavorful. A nice end to a heavier meal. We like River Grille. We truly do. But there was something that didn't resonate as in the past. Maybe the addition of so many other restaurants in the area that also offer wonderful food has shadowed the specialness of this place. Maybe it was a few things that didn't show attention to detail as we were accustomed. We will go again? Of course. read more

The sirloin steak was incredible! Our waiter did an amazing job and was very professional. The ambience was perfect for a post-proposal meal! We even got a free dessert because of the occasion! read more

Definitely a solid fine dining option in Northwest Arkansas. A Bentonville gem, you definitely feel the refined atmosphere immediately upon entering. I found the small-ish size of the room we dined in to be a bit charming and cozy. Service was very nice and helpful, though a tad on the slow side, but if you're okay with this you will no doubt enjoy your experience. Their drink selection is decent and for my main I had the Citrus Glazed Mahi. Top notch presentation and I very much enjoyed the flavors. They have too many appetizing side dishes for me to have passed on them all so I had to try the Spring Pea and Corn Risotto. I enjoyed that as well. Definitely consider this option if you are looking for a good fine dining experience. read more

A local place well done with a nice dining room and quiet- something not often found lately. We went for a presentation and had a preset menu with small choices- it didn't matter as service and food was smooth and delicious. The salad was large, chilled and nicely done. Good fresh bread to accompany it. We had 2 filets ordered different tips and both were spot on. The crème burley was not set as firmly as normally but had a nice crunchy crust and tasted great. The chocolate mousse cake was light and balanced. I look forward to a return visit soon read more

Service was attentive, the food was amazing, ambiance was nice. They have a great wine selection. Piano was playing when we went, but in the side room it's a little harder to hear and was a little awkwardly quiet in there for us - but overall great night! Can't wait to go back. read more

Went there for my wife's birthday! Had 15 people all together. Wasn't that crowded during the week. Place is nice, food is good, but not the best I've had. Prices are above average IMO. But the price of the meal just didn't seem worth it compared to other places we've been. Our server was awesome and delightful. read more

Celebrated my birthday here with a few of my friends and we had the most amazing experience! The food and drinks were phenomenal! Our server, Adam, was fantastic! He was attentive and even brought out candles for my birthday cake. Will definitely be back again! We eat here often. It's always good. The food is always well prepared and service is mostly good. They seem to always be busy and sometimes the food takes a little while but I'm sure that's because it's cooked to order. They deserve a little grace. Always good. I highly recommend. read more

Service was incredible! Loved the martinis & wine. Charcuterie and crab dip was 10/10!! We got the porterhouse steak and it was okay. Cooked well we got medium rare. read more

First, let me write that me and my husband have eaten at some of the finest restaurants in the US and abroad and the River Grille in Bentonville, AR is a GEM! Brenda, the owner has created a spectacular place with ambiance, service and a beautiful experience! Lou, the pianist is there on Friday and Saturday nights and is very talented! Zach and Adam are experienced waiters whose timing is perfect and their rapport perfect! And the food delicious! We'll take River Grille over any steak house in NWA anytime! read more

Food was excellent. Service, not so much. We had to get up to get the water pitcher to refill our glasses. We were told we would have a selection of teas, but after 30 minutes our server just brought a pot of pre-selected tea. Ine table had water dripping on it from the A/C vent. And our table mates had to wait 15 minutes aftee everyone else had their food to get theirs. They wanted to take their food home at the start because they were expecting visitors at home any minute, but the waiter said no. Maybe because this was a free lecture dinner? I don't know, but I really can't give this place 5 stars, but I think a top steakhouse should actually serve the food and in a timely manner. read more

AMAZING!! Everything was so good and steak was cooked perfectly. It had a crispy top coat, soft in the middle, and amazing flavor. Lindsey was our server and she was fantastic. We loved her! Ambiance is great in the bar area for watching a game or catching up with friends. We tried the mousse for dessert and it was one for the most delicious dessert I've ever had. We will definitely be back. read more

I have been going here for almost 30 years! That is hard to imagine. When I moving here they were open and I would call for reservations and talk to Brenda, one of the owners. I had people come to town and I would bring them here. It is still the best steakhouse and has never lost the quality and ambience that made it so great. I have eaten all over the world and they rate at the very best. If you like the best of everything this is your place. It is not cheap. It is expensive! However, you get what you pay for and no disappointments ever. read more

Terrible service, lukewarm food, and on a Friday Pm at 6:30. It should be right in the prime time for a good dinner. Will never go back

Have been coming here for years now. Never disappoints. The service is always friendly and helpful. The food, well let's just say I've never had a bad meal, ever. The decor is a bit dated but easily impresses any date. read more

The service and food was amazing the wine was great as well . I would recommend 10/10 for sure

Wow! Came here for our 32nd Anniversary and the food and service was amazing . First I want to thank my financial advisor for having a seminar here and letting us experience this place for the first time about 6 months ago.I have lived here for 8 years and had never been here. I was impressed then and super impressed with our dinner tonight! For appetizer we had the Bacon wrapped sweet peppers , totally recommend these! I think the dates were purified and stirred into the cream cheese, I don't know , but they were amazing! I ordered the Steak Tournedos Served on truffle potato crostini with grilled asparagus, finished with gorgonzola demi-glace OMG, I cant wait to come back and order again! Absolutely delicious. Hubby ordered the halibut special. He enjoyed it. We also ordered a serving of the cream corn with poblano peppers. Very tasty , filling and and delicious. It was out anniversary so we received a dessert on the house. We chose chocolate cheesecake, it was very light , more like a mousse, but very tasty. Our waiter Adam was very attentive. We throughly enjoy our experience tonight!! read more

Had a phenomenal dinner here last night I won't soon forget. Last minute decision to re-route a party of 7 business dinner from Conifer to here given a recommendation by a colleague who described River Grille's reputation. He steered us correctly; this was indeed the best decision we could have made. I love steak and there has been plenty of it recently given work-related travel, including Vegas last week. But...even the steaks there (triple the price) did not compare to my experience at River Grille. My filet was impeccable, as was the rest of the meal. James provided flawless service and was a delight to have at our table. From start to finish, wine to dessert...let's just say this was one of the most memorable meals I've had in quite some time. Bring a date, business partners, loved ones, whoever. You can't go wrong here for an upscale but comfortable experience. read more

River Grille - Our lovely dinner spread - Steakhouses Near Me - Bentonville, Arkansas

An unassuming steakhouse on the outside. On the inside, you will find a gem of a restaurant. I was in town for business and stayed in the hotel next door. I ventured over for lunch and ordered a burger and fries. Found out the burger is made from the the trimmings from the in-house, aged steaks. Great burger and enough for me to come back the next evening to try their dinner menu. My dinner experience was fantastic. My server was courteous, extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and provided great service. I had an app (cant remember the name but it was a stuffed pepper), ribeye cooked medium-rare, creamed spinach, mac and cheese and a glass of red wine for dinner. All were beyond expectations. I finished my meal with an espresso and a white chocolate cheesecake offering. I loved everything about the experience. Easily a restaurant i will frequent every time I am in the area! read more

The most delicious steak I've ever had, hands down! Our server provides excellent and friendly service. The restaurant is maintained very well with a nice upscale ambiance. Highly recommend if you're looking for a nice restaurant vibe and a delicious steak to go with it! read more

My husband & I had a date night here. The food was absolutely delicious. The bread was amazing. Our waiter packed us a loaf of bread to-go (so sweet.) Another waiter gave us a recommendation of a cognac that paired perfectly with our dessert. The reason for the 4 stars is the bar staff. They were not attentive nor welcoming. The bartender couldn't be bothered for another drink. She was not friendly at all. We almost did not have dinner there. read more

My husband and I were in town to visit the Bentonville temple and we love trying new steakhouses. I called beforehand to see if we could just walk in or if we should make a reservation and the hostess told me they were pretty busy and recommended a reservation, so I did! We were greeted politely and taken to our table. Our waitress Elizabeth was great and the chefs were amenable to changes to their menu items. We got the bacon wrapped sweet peppers as an appetizer, which was delicious. If you order it though, don't just bite into them because you will get burned. Use your fork and knife! It only came with four peppers, but with everything else we ordered, more would have been too much. My husband chose the bison, rare, and didn't want the brussel sprouts or mushroom ragout, so he asked to substitute the sautéed mushrooms in burgundy sauce instead, and they were fine with that. It also came with some whipped potatoes. My husband had a little bit of food envy because he liked my filet more than the bison, but he still enjoyed the bison. He really liked the mushrooms and wasn't super impressed with the potatoes. I ordered the 7oz tenderloin filet cooked medium rare, with asparagus. Everything was fantastic! For dessert we challenged the waitress and chefs again with a kind of creation of our own. They had the Biscoff cheesecake, and an apple cake with toffee syrup, baked apples and whipped cream. We wanted the cheesecake with the toppings from the other cake and, again they didn't have a problem with changing it up! It was light and not too rich. Everything paired excellently! The ambiance was amazing as well. Unlike other restaurants that usually play loud music and you can barely hear yourself think, a pianist lulled our minds into a relaxed stupor. It was very intimate and we genuinely enjoyed the whole experience. I honestly wish more restaurants chose to have a quieter calming atmosphere like this. We left, full, relaxed, and very happy. Thank you Elizabeth for agreeing to our whimsical fancies! Overall a very satisfying experience! read more

I mean this place can't be beat when it comes to amazing service and steak! My wife & I come here when I really want to go have a great steak without having to cook it myself. We had the Chesapeake Bay Crab Cakes to start off with. We shared the bone in ribeye, perfectly cooked medium rare, with a baked potato as our side. To finish, we shared a crème brûlée. This place is always top notch. If you are truly looking for that fine dining experience, you should definitely give River Grille a try. read more

Excellent white table cloth restaurant in Bentonville. Great steak, fish and sides and service was good but not invasive. Pace of our meal was a little slow but the food was worth the wait. read more

Finally came here after friends raves about this place for years. Traveled with a friend that ate light, so we split a huge steak. We split the 16oz master cut, prime ribeye. Cooked medium rare plus. Outstanding! Someone at table ordered ribs. Said they were ok. But who orders ribs at a steak house? Other 2 people were eating sides only for this meal (one was a vegetarian). They ordered 1 of each side!! It was so much food! In fact, Yelp won't let me post more pictures than I have!! Everyone loved all the sides and salads! Service was impeccable! Will return! read more

When you enter, you know you are in a nice steakhouse. The atmosphere is top notch and the live piano playing elevates the atmosphere. We started with some wine and they have a heavy poor (good start). I started with crab cakes and found them a little dry and could have used more seasoning. My wife had a steak filet and I had the Bison Filet. My wife ordered her steak rare as she always does and was more of a medium. We sent it back and it came back more medium rare but she was ok with it. She also ordered the Mac and cheese and it was really lacking in flavor. The bison steak was ordered medium rare and was closer to medium but was ok, the flavor was really good as was the succotash. My wife had the chocolate mousse cake which she really liked and I had the bread pudding, it was ok but a little dry. The bread was excellent and service was outstanding. read more

I have loved River Grille for 25 years now. The food is always great. I love the atmosphere in the bar and dining side. My favorite is the bar side though. Steak is top notch. I could make a meal out of the whipped potatoes and asparagus, wait I have, many times. Most servers been there for a while, which I like because they take pride in knowing your favorites. If you're looking for great food, great atmosphere, excellent service and favor eating at an establishment that is not "chain" please try River Grille. You won't be disappointed (if by some chance you were just say something they'll fix it). Rene' read more

River Grille isn't high end or super fancy, but the food is outstanding. Love a steakhouse that lets the meat stand on its own without the need for extra sauces. Perfectly cooked ribeye with just the right amount of seasoning. The sides are also very good. I've never had a bad meal here. read more

This place is as terrible. I give them 1 star bc they got us in the lounge on a busy night. Did t bring my son's drink. My halibut was blah. It wasn't bad but it was quite boring and flavorless. Business lunch meeting, excellent sandwiches, burgers and salads! Several signature items, so many good menu offerings. Very nice ambience plus attentive, friendly service. Overall 4.5 rating for me, and cost ~$12-15pp for lunch. Based on my lunch experience, I'd imagine the evening meal is top notch! Today I ordered the Cheesesteak with Sweet potato fries. Tender fresh sliced beef with grilled onions, peppers and melted cheese served on a fresh hoagie roll - delicious! Sweet Fries were fresh cut and served hot out of the fryer with a small side of maple syrup. A friend ordered the Reuben sandwich which he said was phenomenal! As a starter, the table shared some Guinness and Jalapeño battered Onion Rings, wow you'll want to try these if you are an O-Ring fan! Giant Onion rings crispy battered, tender sweet, and mild spicy hot flavor. I did ask for ranch dressing to dip them, but ketchup was also a perfect condiment. Did not have room for dessert, but if lunch food quality was an indicator, I'll definitely return to try dinner AND leave room for dessert on my next trip. Enjoy!!! read more

This is a two-part review. My wife and I went here for date night, knowing full well the experience wasn't going to be cheap. We started at the bar, wanting to make a full night of it, and this is where the restaurant loses a full star at a minimum. Three bartenders were working, and they were impersonal, unsmiling, and grumpy. None of them could be bothered to wipe down the bar, and they wouldn't ask us if we wanted any further drinks no matter how often I tried to catch their attention with basic glances and eye contact. Instead, one of them drank her own glass of wine right in front of us while all three had a crass conversation about P-Diddy. The overall feeling was that of a dive bar, but when the tab came for the drinks, the prices certainly weren't cheap. The feeling was so off-putting I almost wanted to leave. However, when we at sat down for the meal, everything was different. The waiter had manners and brought class to the experience, even sending us home with an extra loaf of bread after we raved about it. The food was stellar, the waiters in the dining room were attentive and professional, and we had a great experience. Given that the restaurant must make its greatest profits from the bar/alcohol, I'm dumbfounded by how poorly that portion of the restaurant is operated. But all the rest was superb. read more
