Omg! Was NOT expecting this experience for lunch. Ordered the Turkey Club and was floored by the smoked turkey, like real smoked turkey breast (not shaved or processed) on the homemade fresh brioche bread. The sweet potato fries were on point and were actually good with the ketchup which is not a norm for me. The service was top notch and the server, Dylan, was very attentive. Love how this is inside the historic Inn at Carnall Hall on the University of Arkansas campus, it has lots of character and is very charming. I will be back to try more lunch items on their new menu. read more

We just had lunch there--and have the fried pork chop wiht grilled pineapple, red onion, scallion and oil. THE WORST sandwich ever--I did eat the grilled pineapple but we both ordered (my husband was a wine columnist for the Tennessean for 12 years so have been treated to a lot of good places). The porkchop no where resembled a pork chop--it was tastless throughout. The crust for tasteless --the pork itself was this and dried and no where anyone would have guessed it was supposed to a pork chop. The french fries were great. I kept taking bites of the pork -- --had to cut the tough with a night and saling-=thinking it would get better. NOT. You have to work hard to run a pork chop but they did. Ambiance was great--we got there at 1.30 and only one other couple there, My guess it they do great breakfast and don't have top chef on at lunch. We should have sent it back --never been tempted to do such before. read more

I stayed at the Inn that the restaurant is located. I've only tried breakfast but each dish has been spot on. Service is quick and super friendly. Tyler took care of me the times I visited and was always attentive. The vibe is casual but you also feel like you're in a legit restaurant and not just at a hotel bar. read more

The best bite in Fayetteville is the beef tenderloin! My, oh my!!! We had reservations to celebrate our anniversary & could not wait to have the Ella's experience. Upon arrival, we were the only people in the entire restaurant. I waited at the hostess stand for a bit & at least 3 people walked by, not one acknowledging me. At least we were seated & let's just say we were unimpressed with the service. We both had questions about the wine & cocktail list, but the staff couldn't answer them. We had a divine baked feta appetizer, the venison medallions & the beef tenderloin between 2 of us. It was way too much food, but we finished every last morsel! If you visit during the summer, know that there's not much to the "experience" or ambiance. But if you're looking for amazing food, it is worth the while! read more

Wow. I just had one of the best meals. We are staying at the Graduate after the Tennessee vs Arkansas bball game and debated driving vs walking to dinner and so glad we "ventured out". The restaurant was quiet, not very crowded. We were going to have a glass of wine each so decided to get a bottle. The wine list is eclectic and extremely well priced (barely a mark up above wine store prices). They were out of the white wine we ordered and brought us a bottle that was priced more but equivalent in style and only charged us for what we ordered. We started with the spinach and artichoke dip. The pita chips were perfectly salty and the dip had huge delicious chunks of artichoke. My daughter and I were not starving so we shared the salmon. And this is where our socks were knocked off. First, they graciously split the dish onto two plates and added equal sides for both of us (brussel sprouts and acorn squash). We picked the salmon because it was served with a poached egged, which intrigued us and it did not disappoint. They gave each of us our own poached egg and it was just such a cool texture and flavor with the salmon. My mother-in-law had the tamales. I didn't try them because it did not match up with our salmon flavor experience, but she loved them. For dessert, we tried the fried banana pudding with salted caramel. The flavor was perfect. The pudding was a bit too frozen so we used a knife and fork. I don't think it should have been so frozen but it gave it a lighter, cooler texture, which was nice to finish the meal. Beautiful setting but does not deliver on the fine dining premise that it holds. The staff is pretty kind, but not hugely knowledgeable. My water was served in a glass with a broken base. My benedict fell over on its way to my table and was served as such. My wife had an English muffin on the side that was untoasted and the rosemary potatoes are just French fries. I think you get the picture. The greatest asset of this place is the property, but too many of the details were missed. read more

Love this Inn! It's right on campus, so it's a great stop for an espresso or a special dinner. My parents and I went for brunch on a Sunday, and they accommodated us at the last minute. We made a reservation because it was a busy Saturday, but didn't end up needing it because everyone else was at the Hogs game. We were actually the only people in the restaurant. Staff was friendly and attentive. I ordered a Bloody Mary which was very delicious and had good fixings. Food was good and reasonably priced. They were getting ready to close up but definitely didn't rush us which was nice. I would come back for a nice brunch. Just beware that if it's a game day, parking will be tough! read more

I was surprised by how good this was for breakfast and it not being my typical cup of tea. The eggs were great. The potatoes were really good and fresh. The rosemary was not overbearing. Probably some of my favorite breakfast potatoes I've had in NWA. I was skeptical of the sausage as it was fluffy but it was very flavorful. The preserves and toast surprised me a lot. It was delicious. The portions were small however it was just right to where you don't get full. Service for a Sunday at 1030am was quick. It was not packed either. I would say as of right now this is my favorite breakfast place in Fayetteville. I've ate their dinner before but I am more impressed with the breakfast. read more

Food was delicious. I think the small portions are on purpose so you're still hungry when it's time to order dessert. So we fell for it and got 2 desserts. My kids went to u of a and so I spent a good 6-7 years staying at the inn at Carnall Hall. We went there for a late brunch today and it has changed a lot! However, we still loved it! I had the eggs Benedict Florentine, and it was PERFECT! Mike had some basic breakfast, I can't remember the name, but he loved it! He also had biscuits and gravy. I tried a bite or there and they were delish!!! He also tried blueberry pancakes (he can EAT! He's 6'3" and runs every single day so he can put away his grub haha!). He said the pancakes were the highlight of his meal but I didn't try them or photograph them. To be fair, if you've had perfect eggs Benedict why try anything after?! read more

Great boucherie board! Our service was lovely, and we all enjoyed our meals. I was able to substitute chicken for extra butternut squash ravioli because I'm vegetarian. It was nice they were about to accommodate the dietary restriction. I dropped a star because there was no information on the wine selection because the staff hadn't tasted any of the bottles! Also, the ravioli was good, but a bit too salty. The seabass was slightly over cooked as well. Nothing catastrophic. read more

This is such a great spot to bring family to or a friend who's in town visiting, or just a nice dinner with a significant other. When I saw this was on campus, I figured it would either be extremely overpriced or we just have campus food, I was totally wrong. The food was excellent, affordable, and the service staff was extremely kind. I got the pappardelle pasta w/o cheese and it was sooo delicious. Go to the Golden Corral for better food! This review is in regards to the Mother's Day Brunch. I could not take my mom personally; I do not live in the state, but I sent my mother and sister- below is their response: *My mom didn't want to tell me how disappointing it was at first, but she folded under pressure! They had reservations at 130, and left by two. That told me everything I needed to know. 1. The Prime Rib was no where in sight. 2. The leg of lamb was left unattended and no one to cut it. 3. The ham station offered two slices of ham and no one replenished it. 4. The Banana Fosters French Toast would have been good, but it was cold. 5. $55 a person and did not include her drink (she did order a coke) but said there was just tea or coffee offered. 6. The meat they were able to try was a stewed chicken and was "strange" and unappetizing. 7. Ambience: Despite the pics I reviewed online, Mom mentioned it was set up and resembled much like a cafeteria. I have been to some really over the top brunch spots and never paid 55$ - and to hear this was the experience was just disappointing, especially since events like Mother's Day , they should be rolling out the red carpet. I only write this to save you from the same experience. Ate here for dinner on a Friday evening. Located in Carnall Hall, Ella's is a place I forget about, which is to my detriment. It's classy & elegant but with a modern feel. Apparently, it's been newly renovated. Service: very good. Our server was friendly & prompt. But we were 1 of maybe 3 tables in the entire restaurant, which I found peculiar. Ordered the grilled chicken with gnocchi. Delicious. Now I know it's chicken, but it was probably some of the best I've eaten. This is a place where it's not about quantity, but quality. It's pricey with smaller portions. So if that doesn't appeal to you, Ella's may not be your place. Entrees are in the $30 range. They do have a good selection of appetizers & a soup of the day. read more

My boyfriend and I ate here for brunch on Sat, 11/27. It was our first time to eat here. I had the smoked salmon eggs Benedict with potatoes and grits. They were delicious! Unfortunately, my boyfriend's blueberry pancakes were raw. He also ordered a biscuit, but never received it. We will try this place again in the future with the hope that the food will be enjoyable for both people. read more

It was our daughter's graduation from college. We loved the idea of having dinner on campus, there was an 815pm reservation so we scooped that up. We arrived early for cocktails in the bar across the hall from the restaurant, it has a beautiful and quaint front porch attached. We weren't quite done with our cocktails at our reservation time, so our bartender graciously said, no problem he'd walk across to let the restaurant know. He came back to assure us to take our time- about an extra 5 minutes. As we were leaving the bar, I received a phone call from the restaurant asking us if we were coming for dinner, I explained about the bartender she replied flatly, "I didn't get that message", we walked across. Entering the restaurant, there were a few occupied tables, they were eating or finishing up, we were the last reservation. I was curious why they had a reservation slot for 815, made me supply a credit card and the place was nearly empty. We were greeted,seated, received menus and ordered drinks it was about 825. As we were perusing the menu the waitress asked several times if we were ready to order. The beginning of feeling rushed. We ordered dinner. Soups and salads arrived and were delicious. Dinners were okay nothing spectacular. As we were dining wait staff were clearing tables, and doing closing duties, we were the only diners remaining. Someone sprayed the table next to us to clean it, the chemical smell while eating was very unpleasant. We were pretty much done after that. We were still lingering over remaining wine as they were clearing our table of everything including water glasses and the light! You'd have thought we had been there for hours but we left the restaurant at 936, a little over an hour after arriving! Not the celebratory dinner we had anticipated. They closed the doors moments after we left. I understand they have to close, but it was Saturday night of Graduation. They shouldn't have had that reservation time. No restaurant should make guests feel like they are unwelcome. read more

The most disappointing dining experience I've had in Fayetteville in 20 years. I've eaten here MANY times and never had I been floored by the price gouge at Easter. 2 adults and one 11 year old and it was $285! Waitress took the empty plates but never asked us for a refill and she got a $40+ tip. The food was barely worth the description of "decent" at best. There was no signage or menu pricing anywhere so when we got the bill I nearly passed out. I think the part that gets me is simply there was no warning. Pretty sure Golden Corral offers the same menu for $10 a plate. Pastries were cold, deviled eggs were out too long and had crusted over, the cheeses were hardened, and the beef was so fatty you couldn't eat it. I know I'm not the only one that felt this was as I could hear several of the other tables rumbling about it. So disappointing! I won't be making this mistake again. read more

I scheduled a lunch meeting at Ella's not knowing what to expect. Always a little dangerous going to a new restaurant for business but I'm happy to report all went well. We started with the fried green bean appetizer which was coated in a spicy honey sauce. It was excellent. Two of us had the shrimp and grits. This was an interesting spin on this classic dish. It's certainly not my favorite take but it wasn't terrible. I would have enjoyed a little gravy since the shrimp was kind of dry as were the grits. I probably wouldn't order it again. The third member of our party ordered the chicken Marsala and was very very happy with his dish. Service was really good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. read more
